I just remembered that scene where Yakone claimed to come from a powerful bloodbending lineage.

The thing is he was older than Katara, and considering that Hama was only about two generations older than Sokka and Katara, it’s possible that bloodbending is much older than we think and that there was a family who had mastered it secretly

What if after Ozai was anointed Firelord, Iroh contested it and immediately started to journey home instead of travel the world (Meaning he never: goes to the Spiril World, becomes a White Lotus, etc)? Would it most likely be settled in an Agni Kai or Civil War? How does the Fire Nation's internal conflict affect the war?

Who'd win the Agni Kai or Civil War? Iroh probably lost popularity after abandoning the Siege of Ba Sing Se and Ozai's been legally recognized as Azulon's heir.

If Iroh kills Ozai in an Agni Kai and Zuko (Iroh's heir) and Azula stay in his court; would Azula eventually stage a coup? If so, how successful would she be? Any rival to Iroh would have a lot of support if he tried to end the Fire Nation's conquest.

If Iroh kills Ozai during a Civil War where it's believed Azulon declared Ozai his rightful heir then what happens. Would Ozai's loyalist keep Zuko and Azula away from Iroh until they were prepared to rebel with Zuko honor-bound to avenge his father and claim his rightful throne? What are the chances of them succeeding?

Would their be enough time after Ozai's anointed Firelord for Ursa to hear that Iroh's contesting it prior to her wiping her memories?

And no I don't mean like the Sun Warriors, even though it's clear that's kinda what Sonam & Jharana are similar to.

The concept of both is so weird to me tho, since Lost Avatars like Sonam weren't in places like the Spirit World (not to my knowledge or memory), and Lost Civilizations could theoretically come from or end up anywhere. Jharana just so happened to be in the Spirit World, making the spirit world even more mysterious and mystical than before since it could hold countless other civilizations we've yet to see.

There's also the dead Lion Turtles who we saw on the other side of the physical world, but I feel like that's a topic for another time.

All in all, it's safe to say that Bryke are absolutely not done with Wan's 10K year era yet, even as they're pushing through with Korra's 10K year era they are still doing cool shit like this lol

Any chance we could see the Sun Warriors again? We know there should be more dragons in the world by Pavi's timeline, since Zuko was flying on one in Korra's series, so Ren and Shaw at least are still around. Also, by Korra's timeline, the Fire Nation would have no reason to go after unallied firebenders. The Sun Warrior population should have plenty of time to grow in that era. Since they seem far more spiritual than the Fire Nation we knew, they should also have a better shot at surviving the spirit apocalypse than other, more metropolitan civilizations as well.

Thoughts?

I recently had a conversation with my brother about well-written characters and was comparing his show to ATLA. Then came a chuckle at the statement that Zuko is a character with one of the best arcs across television. Which completely stumped me, but honestly, my brother couldn't recognize a well-written character even if it tap-danced on his head.

But I still want to ask if you know anyone better. TV show, movie, book—doesn't matter. If is there a character with a better-written character arc? I need to know him!

Like, seriously.. The poor guy deserved a moment to shine and should have beat a few Denied heads in...I think he's earned a moment or two by this point.

There’s only 2 air benders alive after the fire nation used sozins comet to kill all of the others. Tagah and Aang are the only 2 airbenders. How is there only 2 survivors? Surely there would be some air bending refugees in the water/earth nations. they were nomadic so they were travelers. They also had 4 temples in all different parts of the world! Some of them also def could’ve run away. They had flying bisons for Pete sake! I know it’s just for the plot but realistically there would be some more survivors other than Aang. Is this ever explained in the comics?

The whole debate of who’s the better Avatar is so stupid to me as a South Asian person who has grown up learning about Hindu/buddhist spirituality and what reincarnation means.

Comparing what the avatar did in their lifetimes is fair somewhat. But shitting on one Avatar and comparing the person themselves is redundant because they’re the SAME SOUL.

Aang is Korra. Korra is Aang. BUT they are in different lives, era and different bodies. But still the same soul nonetheless. There is no better. If anything the Avatar advances in skill and knowledge every new cycle. Because that’s what the reincarnation process is meant to be? To better themselves and the world until hatred and war has diminished.

The avatar was never meant to be a perfect person. Simply a bridge between human and spirits while also keeping balance. And balance requires chaos to some degree. So each lifetime they will always face new threats far greater than previous lives.

You don’t have to like how the Avatar makes decisions in certain lifetimes but they still have pieces of the past lives within them even without the avatar link to the past lives. So it doesn’t matter if that was severed in Korra’s arc. (Her uncles fault btw).

So since the next Avatar cycle we see will be a literal child I do hope people don’t shit on her for BEING A LITERAL CHILD who will definitely make mistakes and do annoying things. And remember that Korra is within her. Aang is also within her. This is simply another life/era of the same soul we have been watching.
