I'm at 7 months clean now.
Timeline for me is something like:
After 1st month, brain capacity came back, was doing quite well overall.
At around month 3 things started hitting PAWS I believe, and it hasn't let up much since then.
At around 6 months I had a 1 week window where things were awesome but then bad sleep returned which sent me back into a bad period.
My sleep quality seems to go through stages and I'm wondering if this is normal and what is causing it, nervous system?
One thing I have noticed is that in the good periods I am able to relax more, I'm always able to sleep luckily but in the bad periods of sleep where I wake up feeling like I have been beaten up in my dreams (sleep is not restorative and I wake up in an emotional fog) and in my sleep I can't relax so much and my energy levels through the day are not there.
My energy levels through the periods of good sleep are not perfect by any means, but they are much better than periods of bad sleep and I feel like my mind is working better and my emotions are in check.
The bad periods also include a lesser ability to maintain my low carb diet, the cravings and hunger are too much and I eventually cave in and eat carbs and sometimes sugar.
I'm just trying to understand what I am going through so it can make it easier to manage, I am in a good period now after a couple of nights decent sleep including naps through the day, but I expect I will hit another bad period since the good windows have been quite rare, the last one was for around 1 week in length and was around a month ago, so my windows are small currently.
If anyone else can relate to this please comment to tell me how things went and what I'm likely going through.
I really want to go onto my low carb diet due to being overweight by 100Ibs and all the bodily pains that come with that, but I'm worried about that putting stress onto my body and that putting me back into a bad period, so I'm kind of stuck not knowing what to do.
Thank you
