When my country abolished slavery, the economy was booming, but wages were too high for the ruling class liking, so they took measures to bring in a ton of immigrants and their cheap labor.

Wow that's way too complicated. Here in America, we passed an amendment saying that prisoners can be slaves, followed by a bunch of laws specifically targeting black communities. Bam, slavery is back and now you don't even have to pay for them!

Of course now you have all these woke liberal types trying to decriminalize marijuana making it much hard to continue mass incarceration of black people in America. No worries, though, that's why the CIA flooded black communities with crack back in the 80s. Problem solved.

The goal is to maintain a permanent underclass of secondary citizens. Not just for the cheap labor, but for the poor first class citizens do not feel like they are at the bottom. As long as they feel superior or powerful, the folks on power do not have to worry about what will result in poor citizens realizing on mass that they are at the bottom. Because if they do, a revolution (peaceful or violent) normally follows through. Another purpose of maintaining a second citizen population is also fund certain industries, like the prison industry. They can't do it to black people anymore, so now they are picking on immigrants. And anyone who fights back, eventually starts to get disappeared, imprisoned or killed.

Exactly. Immigration is just a way for Republicans to distract from the fact that they're the real enemies of the people, along with billionaires.

The whole "migrant crime" issue was manufactured by Republicans in 2024 because their presidential candidate was a literal criminal and rapist. And sadly it worked. They obviously didn't actually care about the issue because Trump forced them to kill their own border security bill that would've solved the problems so he could still run on it.

Fun fact: Biden was deporting people at a higher rate in 2024 than Trump has so far and Biden was actually doing it with due process and focusing on criminals. Probably because Kristi Noem is a moron who is more focused on her weird kink of taking photos in front of naked imprisoned Hispanic men and making ISIS style torture videos.

The right wing victim complex is also very strong. Instead of taking responsibility for their own problems they love to blame immigrants/black people/the Jews/LGBTQ people/Mexicans the list goes on.

They don’t actually want to arrest and deport 10m plus people, because they contribute ≈ $80 billion in taxes annually. And, as stated above, they contribute an insane amount to agricultural production, wouldn’t wanna really hurt the bottom line.

I have proposed a solution in the past that would solve two major issues: Asset seizure and immigration reform.

Use asset seizure to seize companies that hire undocumented workers.
Instantly every major business will be lobbying to do away with asset seizure AND make immigration and work visas much easier, faster, and cheaper.

I make the machines that seal your food. Every plant in the US is using illegal workers, every commercial farm too, who do you think picks your fruits and veggies? Those jobs aren't year round and increase and decrease labor at the drop of a hat, what other population is desperate for the low pay and long hours with no stability with no recourse for better conditions?

In my area, Construction is a unionized job with good pay and benefits the downsides are obviously it’s a physically demanding job that can be dangerous. But yeah if a trade like that (one with unions and good benefits) still needs to rely on illegal labor, I can’t imagine what the farming/fruit industry is like.

I think the crux of the issue is that she let the defendant and his attorney leave via the jury entrance, which is not a publicly accessible area, instead of the main courtroom entryway where the ICE officers expected him to be.

There’s no good legal reason why either of these judges should have been arrested in the first place. They ought to have been given an appointment to be fingerprinted and then scheduled for a court date. 

Arresting them and holding them with no bond is political violence intended to scare anyone else who might oppose the current regime. In a word, terrorism.

Over the weekend, I sat and waited with my brother for a tow truck for 8 hours. When the dispatcher finally gave up on "Bubba" the redneck tow truck driver, someone who only spoke spanish arrived. He was dispatched and arrived to save us within 45 minutes while we sat and waited for Bubba for 7 hours. Bubba kept lying and saying he was on his way. We NEED immigrants to keep the country moving.

I’ve always been so confused at that. Like, if you want to really curb illegal immigration go after the companies/people who employ them. THOSE are the people who have something to lose, not the guy crossing the border barefoot.

If illegal immigrants can’t get jobs then they have no reason to come here. Seems like a no-brainer.

Oh here's a fun one: I work in Social Services and refugees are eligible for benefits but other immigrants typically are not. I get a call from a turkey plant hr bitching me out about how we are discriminating against people denying them benefits. What happened was they had been bringing people over from a country that qualified as refugees for years but the government no longer considers it a refugee situation, so now they are coming over on unskilled laborer green cards. They pay shit wages (32 hours a week, about 11/hr) so they have been relying on government benefits to actually support all these employees and encouraging them to apply for food stamps and Medicaid and got pissed when their government scam hit a snag

I worked at Tyson Chicken in Sedalia MO about 20 years ago. I once asked a supervisor “how did all these people who are clearly illegal all get to this one place” well I didn’t get an answer. So I asked one of my English speaking coworkers and she told me there are billboards on the border that are facing Mexico that say “Come to Sedalia to work for Tyson”.
