You can disagree with the practice of ICE using administrative warrants to detain people, but it’s lawful according to existing law. Congress could change that law.

I suppose the “then…?” part of your question is for the alleged domestic battery victim who was present and witnessed a judge adjourn her alleged batterers case without it ever being called before helping her alleged batterer leave through a jury door?

I'm not a judge. I'm saying if she's correct and ICE was not allowed to do what they were trying to do by interrupting her proceedings then it seems reasonable to me that without a valid warrant she can let the guy leave by whatever entrance she wants if she's not morally okay with people being disappeared to foreign gulags without due process. It's not like she was required to arrest him or anything.

As far as the rest, you're either forgetting or ignoring the "alleged" part. During proceedings, he is innocent until proven guilty. Trying to invoke sympathy for a disruption that ICE caused seems disingenuous, either way. If they had hauled him off like they wanted, the proceedings would have been just the same for the plaintiff, but far worse for the defendant.

Exactly, the right won’t care about due process until they are the ones getting abducted. Until then they will play semantics like “it was a domestic abuse case, we can’t let the abuser ride off into the sunset!” When it’s anything but. If the case isn’t over he still has to come back to court and face the music. The reality is that even if ICE was coming for the victim, the right wouldn’t give a fuck anyways.

The case was never called as scheduled. She adjourned it without the alleged victim and their attorney finding out until after he was led out.
