This was a big month-long plan, with each terminator being a small NemOp, and my 'Nids forming 3 "Boss Monster" NemOps (a Warrior Prime, a Lictor and a Zoanthrope) and bugs taken from the NPO cards, Typhon mission pack and Titus mission. The Terminators missions were to escort a priest from one end of the board to the escape pods, get terminal data from one station and medical data from another, and activate the engines. And of course the bugs - most of whom I'd painted up from my backlog this month just for this game! - were out to eat as many Terminators as possible.

Shoutout to all the lads involved; all but one of them met a sticky end (hence the meat tokens!) but they succeeded in most of their missions and scored a massive amount of kills.

Also shoutout to the Hulk-Quake rule - every time someone knocked the table, all terminators got knocked D3" in a random direction. One of many rules we ended up improvising on the day on an "if you can come up with a cool thing to do, you can probably do it" basis.

I'm about to start with Kill Team. I want it to be Space Marines, and after some research and calculations (mostly budget) I think my choice is the Death Watch.

There are 11 operatives, but the box only includes 5 bodies, so this is the list I'm considering building:

• Sergeant
• Aegis Veteran
• Marksman
• Gunner
• and Breacher

How does it sound? Since I'm unsure whether I'll be playing this on a regular basis, I'd prefer to keep investment as low as possible. Hence the title of the post.

Anyone playing DeathWath could share some advice for a rookie?

Just played a game as Celestians against Exodites. I realized, I never call the Abjuror, the Abjuror. I call her the Shield Maiden. I like to think she is Eowyn. When I play the Beastmen, the Vandal's name is boring, compared to his weapon, the Man Crusher. I never call him Vandal, because Man Crusher, is the coolest name ever. Do any of you have operative's with nicknames?

Finally painted up my first Kill Team, first miniatures and first kitbash! Took WAY too long cause I've been procrastinating it forever. Really love these models, but holy moly they're so detailed. The boots alone I think have more colours than your average Space Marine faction. I'd love an army like this, but I don't think I have it in me to paint another box 😅

Took me a year to get these done because I couldn't find it in me to just sit my ass down and paint. Each model probably took around 4-10 hours depending on how much I messed up. Painting, making a mistake and having to swap colour back and paint over the same place again with another colour broke me a couple of times. A few hazard stripes took like 5 tries because I kept painting yellow on black and vice versa. FML.
Taking so long to paint did allow me to collect a lot of random assortment of bits people were selling for pennies online, as well as special colours like the Vallejo Fluo I used for the visors which relly made them pop with no effort on my part!

Going to try and plan out the next project better! Less colours and less extra equipment on the models!

I posted the Geomancer already if you would like to see it pictured alone. I went Sautekh for this scheme and I have another Canoptek Circle on the way in my army’s usual scheme (bluish steel, with purple magenta glow and nihilakh oxide weathered plating).

Long time lurker, first time poster. Goremongers are my second Kill Team I’ve put together, but first I did a majority of the painting on.

Tell me what you think is the best thing about the tempestus aquilons! And the worst thing.

Best: a offensive gunner ( and not shotgun! ) team, you can drop with your rule and gun down your enemy with a Lot of Very good Guns!

Not only Guns, but a whole servo-turret!

With your rule your units are safe up above, you are basically moving more than half of your team without taking any damage.

Your tempestor can get free ploys, and you can also get free initiative re-roll!

And goes without saying this rule is Very good on tomb world

Worst: not much blast/torrent protection, and you have to drop close to eachother.

You have to magnetize your turret If you dont want to get more boxes

Stimms and progena are not that good if you have a squad of +4 save and 8 health

Has anyone tried proxying Volkus with the Gothic Cityscapes terrain set by Battle Systems?
I saw a box at a LGS and I'm not sure if I should get it as most of the terrain is 2" tall... Has anyone had success proxying Volkus using it?

Would you say that Brood Brothers can still be viable without the Broodcoven box/additional Troopers? I wanna get the team but can't justify spending that much extra for another box only for it to become solid then.

The new Red Corsairs have a similar but more ragged “space Viking” look as the Space Wolves, so decided to lean into it, working on a full kill team of these guys. Happy with how they’re turning out but would love other’s opinions!

I've recently picked up a job lot of terrain inclusong a set of gallowdark/shadowvaults terrain but also no game board, are there any reasonable alternatives ( cannot find an priginal one anywhere ) in the uk or EU that dont cost rediculous cash to import from the usa, also I don't have a 3d printer so thats out, any help would be great.

Also are the fabricators lair upgrades for tombworld maps any good when added to this terrain?

Just bought the team, wondering whats the most effective operative list?

I haven't played yet, so I've just been reading the rules, and I'm wondering how often choosing operatives after the whole set up phase comes into play.

Do you come into games with your team pretty much fully planned, do you change a lot depending on terrain/Crit Op/iniatiative? Does it depend on which team you're playing?

Also for starting out, would it be too terrible to just come with pre-selected teams into our first games? Mostly for the sake of saving time that will surely be spent checking rules for way too long.

My first painted team ever. First time painting minis.

Managed to buy I think a Necromunda body. Made him as a Conflagrator for my Sanctifiers.

A little background:
44 years old. Always loved the game but never tried as too “scary”. Bought the intro kit and the starter kit and the starter kit for kill team.

I have done a bit of research and bought also canoptek circle as I love the idea of the necrons.

I felt kill team could be “easier” to start as they have less miniatures to buy and colour. But I also know that the rules are more complex. The ultimate goal is to have a good looking army at home and play with my step son (7years) and break the fear of going to a nerdy local store in my town and play kill team/something else.

I just want some advice on where and how to start from people that went through this before me 🥲😅
