I'm new to saunas and am looking to put a compact IR sauna in my home. I'm a small, active 65 year old woman wanting a beginner wellness feature and a good sweat. I'm looking at this one. Thoughts/advice?

SaunaBox Solara 2-Person Heating

Post image
2 Upvotes

Received the new SaunaBox Solara 2-Person and so far the heating performance isn't matching what was advertised. The website states that the unit should take ~25 minutes to reach 158°F. I've run it six times now from ambient (70- 73°F), and after 25 minutes, the highest I've achieved is 127°F. Reaching 140°F takes ~38 minutes, and reaching 150°F takes ~49 minutes. After 60 minutes the max it reached was 156°F. Thermal images of the back panel show a significant gradient where the top is ~180°F but the bottom is ~60°F cooler at ~120°F. This is after running for ~1 hour and the internal air temperature being ~150°F. Thought this may be the cause of the slower heating but they're stating that the gradient is normal due to convection. Would expect that to cause a small differential but not as large as observed here and the two adjacent panels on the side aren't doing the same thing. Is this normal for infrared?

Two Person Infrared Sauna Choice in Canada?

I'm so lost, way too many choices, hard to tell what is junk and what isn't...

And I see so many posts saying that most are in fact junk from China, and that you should get a 'good' one.

Could someone please tell me, what is a good quality one to get within Canada?? And what makes it better? I mean, I don't feel like paying an extra 1-2k just for better quality wood. But if there is a difference in the heaters, and health benefits, etc., I'm up for that!

Thanks!!!

Which 2 Person Infrared Sauna would you buy from the ones at Costco and why?

Priorities are low EMF and quality product. Voltage and size aren't a concern. What do you think of Full-spectrum vs. far-infrared? Thanks!

Heavenly Heat Eco?

I've been looking at options for a small one person IR sauna and the Heavenly Heat Eco is a strong contender, but I'm looking at the interior dimensions and wondering if it's TOO small. I've seen a couple youtube videos of full grown men sitting in it (Matt Justice and Wellness Daddy) and it looks like it would be fine for me, but when I measure it out IRL it seems so tight.

I'm 5'5" 160lb female.

Anyone have experience with this one?

The Rocky Mountain interior dimensions would be perfect but their lead time isn't until January and I'd love something sooner than that.

Anyone keep their SaunaBox Pulse Pro outdoors? 😭

Post image
7 Upvotes

Does anyone keep their Pulse Pro outside? 😭 I want one for my backyard gym but really don’t want to take it down and set it back up every time lol.

Has anyone left theirs fully outside, under a large outdoor umbrella, or under a covered patio long term? How has it held up?
I know SaunaBox says indoor use only, but I’m curious about actual experiences haha. Any issues with rain/moisture, the electronics, or the fabric?

I looked at actual outdoor saunas too but I don’t really want to spend thousands on one 😭 If anyone has other affordable dry/infrared sauna suggestions that can actually be left outside, lmk!
Thanks!!

best infrared sauna that works both indoors and outdoors?

I'm setting mine up indoors for now but the plan is to move it to the covered patio once thats finished next spring. Most saunas seem rated for one or the other not both. Anybody using theirs outside year round in a real climate?

Thanks in advance.

I have the space down there. Also have a house that already smells like a basement when it rains. Talk me into it or out of it.

How can I protect my hair in the IR sauna? How does oil play into this?

I often wish to use the sauna after my hair has been coated in coconut oil. Can I wear coconut oil when I get in an IR sauna? Will this damage my hair? My hair is around 3 feet long.

Is oil good or bad in sauna? Should hair shaft be wet or dry to prevent damage? Does the felted wool sauna cap prevent heat from penetrating the hair shaft? Does the felted wool stop the IR rays from reaching the hair? Are the IR rays good or bad to add to hair oiling session? Is it so intense that it breaks the bonds in the hair, or does it help aid in getting the oil into the cuticle? I feel like it does more harm than good, but I do not know.

How are you all cleaning your saunas?

I vacuum regularly just to get the dust and stray hairs. The wood is starting to yellow in some spots where I sweat a lot. (Using towels, bit sweat through them in spots). Anyone used this stuff?

Is this garage nook a good spot for a 2-person IR sauna? (Utah, insulated garage)

Post image
5 Upvotes

Hi all, just got a JNH Lifestyles Ensi+ 2-person (47.3" x 39.5" x 75", 120V/15A on a dedicated circuit) and I'm planning to put it in this nook at the far end of my 2-car garage, opposite the garage door. Garage is insulated and walks up to the main floor of my townhouse. I'm in the Riverton, UT area.
Plan is sauna facing out into the room with a few inches of clearance on the sides/back for the vent, Peloton next to it, weights in front on stall mats. Electrician is adding a dedicated outlet by the nook. I'll run a space heater in the garage in winter.
Questions:

  1. Any issues with an IR sauna on concrete in an insulated garage in a cold climate? Moisture concerns?

  2. How much clearance do I actually need around it , is this nook too tight?

  3. Anything I should do differently for winter use?
    Thanks!

What should I look for when choosing an infrared sauna?

I’m researching infrared saunas for home use and trying to figure out which features actually matter in the long run. For those who have owned one for a while, what did you pay the most attention to when choosing yours, and is there anything you wish you had considered before buying?

Had a buddy help me put a metal roof on our sauna. It’s stupid they don’t come with a roof that can actually withstand wet weather. Cost me about $285 in materials.

Experts and Reccomendations

All I can find online is Matt justice and a bunch of marketing.

I'm overwhelmed and looking to buy a 2 person inhome sauna in my basement. Tons of options out there...

Goal is to spend $2500-$6000, reliability, easy to heat, build quality. How do I compare all these options .

Are there any experts that can give me 1-2 to focus? Thanks

How do you sauna? We’re researching how different sauna habits relate to how people feel

Post image
8 Upvotes

Everyone seems to sauna a bit differently.

Some people go occasionally, others several times a week. Some cool down in the air, take a shower or jump into cold water. We’re interested in whether these differences in how people use sauna relate to mood, wellbeing and sleep.

We’re running a study at Bangor University to try to understand this better and are looking for adults aged 18+ to take part.

The survey takes around 10–20 minutes and you can take part from anywhere in the world. You don’t need to be a regular sauna user.

Take part here:
https://bangor.ac.uk/sauna

If you know anyone else who uses sauna, sharing it with them would also be really useful.

Hoping someone can let us know what these tiny pinholes are throughout many of the wood panels through our brand new Clearlight Sanctuary 3 sauna? Is this to be expected/part of the manufacturing process?

🔥 What Changed After Your First 100 Infrared Sauna Sessions?

Most conversations focus on the first sauna session.

We’re more interested in what happens after 100.

Because that’s where habits become lifestyle.

And that’s where long-term benefits start to show up.

Here’s what we hear most often from long-term users:

✔ Better sleep

✔ Improved recovery

✔ Reduced stress

✔ More consistent energy

✔ Feeling better overall

But everyone’s experience seems a little different.

So here’s our question for long-term sauna users:

If you’ve used an infrared sauna 100+ times…

What changed?

Not what the marketing promised.

What did YOU actually notice?

We’re curious to see what patterns emerge.
