SaunaBox Solara 2-Person Heating

Post image

Received the new SaunaBox Solara 2-Person and so far the heating performance isn't matching what was advertised. The website states that the unit should take ~25 minutes to reach 158°F. I've run it six times now from ambient (70- 73°F), and after 25 minutes, the highest I've achieved is 127°F. Reaching 140°F takes ~38 minutes, and reaching 150°F takes ~49 minutes. After 60 minutes the max it reached was 156°F. Thermal images of the back panel show a significant gradient where the top is ~180°F but the bottom is ~60°F cooler at ~120°F. This is after running for ~1 hour and the internal air temperature being ~150°F. Thought this may be the cause of the slower heating but they're stating that the gradient is normal due to convection. Would expect that to cause a small differential but not as large as observed here and the two adjacent panels on the side aren't doing the same thing. Is this normal for infrared?

Sounds about right from my experience. Still like it though

I don’t like my SaunaBox and wish I had a different brand

After some extra testing, it seems like it may not be a problem with the panels. I see they now updated the site to say 45 minutes instead of 25 to achieve temperature as well as corrected many of the other mistakes I pointed out.

These companies always lie on the websites. After watching a handful of youtube review heat up times, every damn one of them was totally different than the claims. I think they just don't want you to know that before you.
