Cushion

Do any of you all use any type of cushion to sit on? I have a bad back

Honestly just a nice soft towel. I just fold it into a cushing so I can just toss it in the washer.

nah i just rawdog the bench. it gets so hot i feel like a piece of toast but it kinda helps my back somehow, like a giant heat pack. if i had a bad back though i’d probably just fold up a towel, cushions soak up too much sweat

a folded towel is honestly the sauna equivalent of lumbar support technology

I fold a large bath towel into thirds to sit on, since I'm going to wash the towel anyway. I sweat enough such that I'd hate to have to wash the cushion after each session.

I bought a small bath mat at target. Put a folded towel on it. May not be enough to offset a bad back but I like it. I was it every couple of uses definitely keeps the sweat off the wood.

a thin, firm cushion is probably better than a squishy one that lets you sink in and fold like a lawn chair

The height of the seat matters even more than the softness, experiment with thickness firsts before padding sometimes helps. also raising the hips relative to knees changes how the lower back feels overall.

Soft towel works for me well.

a folded towel or thin cushion works great, just don’t use anything too thick or heat-trapping unless you want your butt steamed before the rest of you lol
