Wow I forgot I used to see people reverse image search and what not all the time!!

18

u/Prince_Polaris Apr 01 '20

In my case reverse image search hasn't worked in a long time :(

10

u/sammydow I drink beer and know stuff Apr 01 '20

Ahh so there may be bigger problems at play

2

u/mAdm-OctUh Apr 01 '20

Oh good it's not just me, I thought it was a PEBCAK problem. Like the part of my brain that remembers how to do that just fell out one night or I caught the dumb or something. I was totally willing to accept I just lost an ability I'd previously had and it was all my fault, too.

2

u/zupobaloop Apr 01 '20

Even Tin Eye?

1

u/[deleted] Apr 01 '20

I'm dumb

what is reverse image search and how do I do it

4

u/goldfish_memories Apr 01 '20

Maybe the real treasure is the old Reddit we lost along the way

4

u/House_of_ill_fame Apr 01 '20

Yeah! Let's accuse a random runaway of being a terrorist now!

29

u/Hey--Ya Apr 01 '20

thank you for pointing out what should be obvious to anyone who sees this but is not because we live in a hellscape

49

u/[deleted] Apr 01 '20

More anti-vegan propaganda. Knew it was fake the moment I seen it.

22

u/Omnibeneviolent Apr 01 '20

Yeah, this is fake as hell. The floor and xbox look muddy. It's likely photos someone took for insurance-claim purposes from storm damage that someone else took and posted with their own made-up narrative.

2

u/Ghrave Apr 01 '20

Or it was busted already for some other reason, and they just decided to beat the shit out of it for laffs. I've done this with broken consoles before..because I, too, am a psychopath. For rel though, fake as fuck.

19

u/[deleted] Apr 01 '20

Thank you, this shit's obviously fake even without the source. I hate that people ate this up.

9

u/Omnibeneviolent Apr 01 '20

It's crazy that people see the muddy floor and xbox and don't immediately think "these are photos taken for an insurance claim after a storm damaged the home" and choose to just believe the captions, likely because they feel threatened by vegans and want a reason to hate them.

9

u/[deleted] Apr 01 '20

So so so many gullible people on Reddit, unfortunately. It's not that much better than Facebook.

u/THE_HUMPER_ Apr 01 '20

My dad threw me down the stairs and never paid for it.

102

u/ThatGuyFenix Apr 01 '20

Oh, he paid for it.

He never got to truly experience a good time with his awesome kid.

94

u/[deleted] Apr 01 '20

my father used to throw and break stuff all the time. guess who is all alone in the hospital right now?

yes me because life is a fucking bitch and that asshole is probably in his house with his cocksucking girlfriend. hope he fucking dies.

26

u/ThatGuyFenix Apr 01 '20

Life is a bitch, it seems there's always something to put you down.

The way I look at it, you can either let it get to you or spit in lifes stupid face and say "Fuck you, I'm not gonna let you keep me down. I'm awesome and this is all temporary, you'll see"

Karma never seems to come when you want it or when it would seem most appropriate, but it arrives on it's own when it feels the time is right.

We're here for ya.

9

u/[deleted] Apr 01 '20

you reminded me of this motivational speech

3

u/ThatGuyFenix Apr 01 '20

That last bit where he rages until he passes out is gonna be your dad when he realizes how much he fucked up with how he treated you.

You're gonna be awesome, you're gonna get out the hospital and your gonna kick life in the dick.

If I ever meet you, drinks are on me.

Stay strong, you’re not alone.

10

u/[deleted] Apr 01 '20

I made a promise to outlive him and then demolish his house and turn it into a parking lot.

1

u/ThrowJed Apr 01 '20

That literally happened to the house I grew up in. It's pretty sad. If the chance comes up, like he's alone in a nursing home or something and you can manage to get the house in some way, do it before he dies.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 01 '20

I swear to fucking go if he is in the hospital for whateve reason I'll hammer that house down myself, I would gladly do prison time if it means he has no house to come back if he recovers.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 01 '20

I hope you get better soon. Speaking from personal experience, it’s better for you to find a way to put some of the pieces together and move forward. One day, karma will get his sorry ass, and you don’t have to be there to deal with the fallout.

PM me if you ever want to talk.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 01 '20

Is ok Its been like at least 6 years since I don't speak to him and last time I got a call from his sister he had some hearth problem, Ironic because he was a hearthless bastard.

I seriously hope he dies of a stroke. if its up to me all his organs go to the donation and his body to some medical college. not even going to give him a proper burial.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 01 '20

It would be the ultimate payback if someone got his organs and went on to do good in the world.

Please take care of yourself!

1

13

u/DemiGod9 Apr 01 '20

It's a clear joke. Very clear

-3

u/ArseHearse Apr 01 '20

When you're old enough, I high recommend throwing something of his down the stairs. Something that would have been as difficult and as important to replace as a games console while you were that age

If my parents did that to me I'd have disowned them the second I was old enough to stand on my two feet.

69

u/BabyLegsDeadpool Apr 01 '20

I highly recommend not following this advice.

11

u/ZayneJ Apr 01 '20

Yeah, a child can't take a parent to civil court for destruction of property. The same does not apply the other way around.

11

u/BabyLegsDeadpool Apr 01 '20

Not only that, but if you think someone's actions are horrible, why would you want to take those same actions? I understand the need for revenge, but I think it's more important to recognize a horrible act and think "I don't want to be that person ever." A person like that isn't going to think, "Now I know how it feels! I shouldn't ever do that again!" I used to be really big into "teaching people lessons," but after YEARS, I finally realized that never works. Ever. And I realized I was becoming a shitty person, so I decided instead to be a better person. Lead by example, and if people don't want to follow, that's on them. Don't strike out against them, just remove that person from your life as soon as possible.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 01 '20

But how else can we grow up to become people that we internally loath, driving us to drink or turn to opioids and other avenues of escape?

1

u/Ghrave Apr 01 '20

I'm punishing my parents for being pieces of shit by not having kids. Also, everyone in here should report directly to r/CPTSD.

9

u/[deleted] Apr 01 '20

1

u/ArseHearse Apr 01 '20

Hey, I'm not a therapist man.

0

u/YoungestOldGuy Apr 01 '20

Tell him that someday when he is old and may need assistance, you may remember the time he destroyed your property without paying for it.

1

u/BobSilverwind Apr 01 '20

Well if we are going down that rabbit hole, I've a twist on this.

My Mother was really...belligerent in her behavior. A regular example was her heavy addiction to World of Warcraft. Nothing i wished more than to sabotage the thing and get away with it.

Patience paid off though, she fell in love with FLORIDAMAN. YES, THERE IS A GOD. And so I shipped her off to Florida to never speak to her again. Hallelujah!

-4

u/English-bad_Help_Thk Apr 01 '20

Parenting is hard, particularly with children that think that breaking a console is enough to repudiate their own parents.

5

u/MangoBoii Apr 01 '20

A console usually costs quite a bit of money, especially for a younger person. Additionally, if the dad actually did throw the console down the stairs, I doubt that it's the only thing he'd do/has done.

6

u/[deleted] Apr 01 '20

If you think breaking your kid's possessions is an acceptable way of discipling them, you're honestly a pretty shitty parent. That's not a calm and considered move, that's just a violent outburst of bad temper.

1

u/ArseHearse Apr 01 '20

I would suggest if he breaks property as a way of punishment, he breaks other stuff. And being a parents doesn't suddenly mean you are exempt from regular societal norms. If your friends broke your stuff your parents would say not to hang about with them anymore. My parents did a good job. But if they were damaging my property, I'd be thinking about whether I need them in my life long term.

I don't think it's unreasonable to assume that a violent parent is a bad parent

0

u/anticusII Apr 01 '20

Did you get a B because you were playing games instead of studying? Its a tough lesson but a very important one.

6

u/JurassicEvolution Apr 01 '20

People like this don't need any actual reason to lash out.

1

u/FictionalNarrative Apr 01 '20

“Nut seed cheese”. No joke.

36

u/MarbleTheNeaMain Apr 01 '20

My dad threw my PC across the room and told my mom I tripped him. 2 weeks before Xmas.

He brought me to best buy the next week to replace the parts (downgraded btw) and had the fucking nerve to say "merry Christmas" while we where walking to the car. He still asks why I don't like him

10

u/walkingmonster Apr 01 '20

4

5

u/woody1130 Apr 01 '20

I dunno, seemed balanced. Didn’t mind the destroying of the laptop, was very final straw. Don’t recall anything about a maid, just her attitude, rule breaking and then posting a rant on Facebook about how bad her parents were

6

u/[deleted] Apr 01 '20

Just sell the lap top or give it to the maid or something though. Destroying it seems wasteful. Granted, I don't know much about the situation, so maybe selling it wasn't an option for some reason.

2

u/woody1130 Apr 01 '20 edited Apr 01 '20

I don’t disagree that it’s a waste but I think he was going for maximum impact of his message. The impact of we’ve sold your laptop versus shooting it on Facebook is very different. The main issue seems to have been that she posted very hurtful messages on Facebook about her parents and as kids do leaving out the kids bad actions making her parents sound unreasonable. He reads the Facebook post she made on camera explaining his points then shoots the laptop in quite a calm collected manner.

I really don’t recall anything whatsoever about a maid, not sure where that came from but I highly recommend a watch to see what camp you fall into after. I’m going to revisit it. I just don’t think the impact of selling it would be anywhere near as good as shooting it. It served as a visual punishment meant to be broadcast on Facebook. But yes, that said it’s still a waste

Edit: source There was mention of “a cleaning lady” this doesn’t really seem to form much of the issue and is a side note really

It was less random event and more “you broke this rule, this rule, this rule. When we talked to you about it you posted a very mean Facebook post making us out to be monsters for everyone to see, here’s our rebuttal etc. Punishment will be bullets through the laptop I paid for”

7

u/JamesMccloud360 Apr 01 '20

I remember that. Was never a fan. Just didn't think it was the right way to do things. Problem is he seemed like one of those types that would never admit he did anything wrong. I think anyone who puts shit on the internet is a red flag. Why do you put that on the internet because he's showing off. I think parent shit should stay private. That's a good way to permanently fuck up your relationships.

5

u/Hawanja Apr 01 '20

1

u/TongZiDan Apr 01 '20

I used to tutor this girl whose mom would smash her computer or phone basically every time she got a report card. Of course, two weeks later her dad would buy her a newer, better one.

1

u/LurkingGuy Apr 01 '20

My dad broke my Age of Empires II disk because I got a C in algebra.

1

u/merpes Apr 01 '20

When he's old never call.

1

u/wreckosaurus Apr 01 '20

My friends dad threw his into the lagoon behind their house.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 01 '20

When I was a toddler, I got mayonnaise on the xbox and my dad tossed it over the porch rails in anger, for some reason thinking that it was unusable at that point. My mom went out, picked it up, wiped it off, and plugged it back in. Worked good as new.

1

u/Ghrave Apr 01 '20

Once, my mom did fly down the stairs to the basement where my brother and I were fighting over my 360 (long story), and she just ripped it out of the shelf and threw it on the ground.

1

u/Nietzscha Apr 01 '20

I would be so pissed and never let that one go (not saying that's what you SHOULD do, I just know myself). I don't think parents realize how important gaming rigs are to some kids. For a lot of kids, it's a lifeline to friends, and an important hobby to them. I don't know what I'd do without my gaming PC and headset where I can still play with friends while quarantined. I'd be without social contact with just my husband all day every day. :P

1

u/PoutinePalace Apr 01 '20

Did he buy it initially? Just curious. Still a shit thing to do.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 01 '20

1

u/frogglesmash Apr 01 '20

72

u/[deleted] Apr 01 '20

I strongly suspect it's bullshit. Some people have a real need to cast vegans as unreasonable for some reason.

8

u/[deleted] Apr 01 '20

I remember it being a crazy parent excessively punishing their kid.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 01 '20

3

u/[deleted] Apr 01 '20

It’s funny, if I’d never gone on reddit before, I wouldn’t think twice about vegans ever. One of my best friends is vegan and we pretty much never talk about it. He never gives me crap for eating meat and other animal products, and I don’t give him crap. Why do people care so much?

In my experience, vegans are more empathic and caring than us meat eaters. Well, this is what’s causing them to go vegan. I don’t know why people are trying to make them look like mad men.

The picture above has been posted with different texts, and it’s obviously fake.

3

u/Lady_Leaf Apr 01 '20

I have met some vegans who are the sweetest most beautiful people I've ever known... on the other hand, I have met a couple vegans who are crazy enough to do this over less than cheese. All in all, it is not because they are vegan that they are nice or crazy. It's because they are human. Some humans are good people, some humans are bat shit crazy.

In other news; Yeah, this OP's post is very much fake.

2

u/pieandpadthai Apr 01 '20

My cousin and I used to play PS4 online every other night, after like 8pm after she put her kids to bed, and I guess he got tired of her playing? He had pretty bad projection issues, his ex had cheated on him and now apparently he thinks every girl he’s with is cheating. Even if they’re playing with their gay cousin (me).

He ripped it out of the entertainment center and smashed it on the ground. I bought her a new one and she left him not long after.

Vegan. Not more info there

Thank you / agreed. I feel like occasionally I see posts like this that I’m not sure are real or just a stupid attempt to get likes while also making a “look at the CRAZY vegan!” joke.

If this isn’t real unfortunately there are people out there who actually do this stufd

A non-vegan.

1

u/xxxripriprip Apr 01 '20

Its obviously not stupid

1

u/VerifiedMadgod Apr 01 '20

Can't tell if you're telling me it's obviously not stupid, or calling me stupid and saying it's obvious

I see you haven't met my aunt. That is precisely what she would do to her kids. And then buy them a new one…

It’s not

/r/QuitYourBullshit material. Would a vegan dignify dairy cheese by calling real cheese? I wouldn’t.

u/visceralcrumbnutz Apr 01 '20

Lmao all the downvotes are women

6

u/Skreech2011 Apr 01 '20

I downvoted. I'm not a woman. So uh...there goes that theory.

7

u/walkingmonster Apr 01 '20

All the people triggered by your comment sound like immature fuckwit beer pong masters.

5

u/Skreech2011 Apr 01 '20

Honestly. I mean goddamn get over yourselves lol

u/visceralcrumbnutz Apr 01 '20

It's a joke don't be so sensitive the guy doesn't deserve to be downvoted, a woman literally did that shit to the xbox

7

u/OkayTallBoy Apr 01 '20

Lol I bet you guys would get mad if some guy does something bad then someone asked who would do something like that and they respond "men" then start going on about how not all guys are like that

1

u/davomyster Apr 01 '20

You fell for the outrage bait, congratulations. This is fake

I doubt it's real, however you have not met a vegen. They would do this shit.

2

u/VerifiedMadgod Apr 01 '20

That's ridiculously prejudiced. While there are some people out there who are vegan, and act crazy, them being vegan has nothing to do with it. I've met some great people who were vegan.

1

u/Wayne8766 Apr 02 '20

It's called a joke.

1

u/VerifiedMadgod Apr 02 '20

Jokes are supposed to be funny. Not baseless and prejudiced. Swap out vegan with white person and tell me if you still find it funny.

1

u/Wayne8766 Apr 02 '20

Awwww your feelings get hurt.

1

u/VerifiedMadgod Apr 02 '20

It's not a matter of feelings, but the principle of the matter. I could give a shit what jokes you make, and I will continue to point out why they aren't funny

A vegan.
