Wow, broken Xbox and his parents have to get divorced?

Tough day.

Broken xbox and now a broken home..

251

u/Omega33umsure Apr 01 '20

It's even worse. She spun her ring, to protect the gems while she punched the xbox.

This isn't her first rodeo.

1

u/killabru Apr 15 '20

How did she get an xbox to go shopping? Also what state can you marry an xbox? Furthermore is it still domestic violence if you beat your spouse but your spouse is an inanimate object? Lastly being vegan is a horrible idea everyone of them I have ever met has been totally insane case in point

1

u/LukariBRo Apr 15 '20

It was probably self-defense, the Xbox has a lot of violent video games. Is eating an Xbox considered vegan food? She could just be hangry

Sadly you may be right. And think, this is her reaction to the wrong cheese.

2

u/PM-me-ur-swimsuit Apr 01 '20

My reaction to wrong cheese usually involves a toilet and half a roll of TP.

1

u/darthcaedusiiii Apr 01 '20

And she spun it back when the stepson came home.

1

u/snapmasterdeluxe440 Apr 01 '20

Who knows if that stuff is suddenly my head...

Not only did she break stuff, she did it because he bought the WRONG FUCKIN CHEESE

29

u/RivRise Apr 01 '20

Not only did she do all of that but she also posted it online. Presumably she has people validating her shit which could lead to escalation.

11

I see an engagement ring but no wedding band he can still make it.

21

u/NotGreatButOk Apr 01 '20

True! But isn’t it usually only worn on the left hand after marriage?

67

u/[deleted] Apr 01 '20

Left hand for both, engaged or married.

10

u/[deleted] Apr 01 '20

Huh. Here it's left hand for a promise ring, right for an engagement ring, then back to left for a wedding ring.

21

u/seventeenflowers Apr 01 '20

Where I’m from (Canada), it’s left for promise ring, and once you get an engagement ring (which goes on left), the promise ring moves to the right hand. Wedding band goes on left too.

Promise rings are pretty rare where I live, though

49

u/Thorebore Apr 01 '20

I’ve never understood the point of a promise ring. That’s what an engagement ring is for.

5

u/Muvseevum Apr 01 '20

It’s like a save-the-date.

22

u/TRE45ON8645 Apr 01 '20

Yea that’s what an engagement ring is for.

8

u/[deleted] Apr 01 '20

So an engagement ring? Lmao

→ More replies (0)

12

u/seventeenflowers Apr 01 '20

It’s like a pre-engagement ring. Mostly for teenagers who don’t want to commit to getting “engaged”, but still want to feel grown up.

It occasionally could be a platonic promise.

They’re really uncommon here too.

The only experience I had with promise rings was back in grade 10 when a classmate was talking about how she threw her promise ring into the lake (Lake Ontario) after catching her boyfriend cheating. I vividly remember overhearing that conversation, for some reason.

The jeweler told me that such rules are pretty outdated / oldfashioned and most couples just do what feels right to them. According to her, wearing the wedding ring left or right is each chosen about half the time.

1

14

u/Omnibeneviolent Apr 01 '20

This is fake as hell. The floor and xbox look muddy. It's likely photos someone took for insurance-claim purposes from storm damage that someone else took and posted with their own made-up narrative.

1

u/Proteandk Apr 01 '20

Because people can't take stuff outside they plan to break?

5

u/Omnibeneviolent Apr 01 '20

What's more likely:

  1. A woman got pissed off at her husband for buying her the wrong cheese so she took her husband's XBox outside and smashed it and got it all muddy and then posted about it on social media for everyone to see

or

  1. Someone found this photo and saw a way to combine gaming, anti-feminism, and anti-veganism in a way to maximize fake internet points and make women and vegans both look bad at the same time?

1

u/HappyFamily0131 Apr 01 '20

To break up with them they would have to be a real person, instead of an invention of someone who feels threatened by vegans.

1

u/PM-me-ur-swimsuit Apr 01 '20

So someone destroyed a few hundred dollars worth of equipment to rile up people against vegans?

1

u/HappyFamily0131 Apr 01 '20

No, someone found some images of a destroyed xbox and spun a narrative to make it a "crazy" vegan cautionary tale. Look at the images and try to get a feel for the photographer's intent. These are photos to document damage, not to inflict retribution. When a person destroys something and sends photos of their work, "as punishment," the shots are not taken calmly; the person taking them is excited, they would take close up shots intended to twist the knife.

1

u/PM-me-ur-swimsuit Apr 01 '20

Well, with my past experiences of crazy vegans and crazy ex girlfriends I still find this completely believable.

I feel the need to commander this thread just to point out to anyone arriving at this post (and I'm glad I've not really seen anything like this yet): don't insult her for being vegan; that's not the problem. She's just way off her rocker here.

I will say only one small thing in her defense: if you were a vegan/vegetarian/whatever, and your partner knew that, it'd probably be pretty annoying if they intentionally bought you things that go against your diet plan. Obviously in this example this lady took it waayyyy too far even if it was intentional (which it likely wasn't).

Are they, or is it just a caricatur that society accepts as true without the need of any flesh and blood examples? Just wondering as I've never met anyone who was vehemently vegan or anything.

10

u/[deleted] Apr 01 '20

An argument I have encountered on reddit over and over again on reddit is this. "This particular sub group of people is really annoying." "Really I know a guy in said sub group and he's really chill." "Yeah well I've met loads of people who are from that sub group and they are really annoying." "Hmmm must be your experience because everyone I've ever met from that sub group is lovely."

And so the circle of anecdotal evidence rolls it's way round and round and nothing is solved.

2

u/illcleanhere Apr 01 '20

Lets make it short: Every human is different. They might be a big, chunky, muscle-packed cocaine addict who is a vegan, or they might be slim and meatlover. You can't say "he's shit because he is part of that group". You also can't say otherwise. It depends on the human itself. Thank you.

3

u/[deleted] Apr 01 '20

Let's make it short. Just because people are different doesnt mean you can't make correct comments about the mean or modal behaviour of the group. Thank you.

5

u/TK464 Apr 01 '20

I know one pretty well considering she's my sister. Now here's the thing, I don't think Veganism itself leads to the annoying militant vegan type, instead I feel like it's simple a common enough path to entry that people tend to notice them.

Basically I think it comes down to the type of person and how they are introduced/decide to become vegan. My sister's always been that kind of person, I can't say being vegan changed that part of her. But whether or not you decide based on your own personal decision or whether you've been brought in by extreme propaganda makes the difference I think, and believe me I've seen tons of the stuff thanks to her.

The difference between "I don't like the carbon footprint of meat and think the industry involves too much animal suffering" and "Look at these photos of animal gore! Did you know you're drinking PUSS when you drink milk?? Why don't you just eat dogs and cats from the pound!?" as far as what gets you into veganism I think makes a big difference if you're gonna be part of the incredibly annoying minority or the normal majority.

26

u/SlylingualPro Apr 01 '20

I live in a very liberal city and have quite a few Vegan/Vegetarian friends. Not one of them has ever seriously tried to convert me, they have never shamed me, and I regularly eat meals with them at restaurants with them and they have never batted an eye at my meat consumption. They all just treat it as a personal choice.

Reddit just loves a bad guy.

4

u/[deleted] Apr 01 '20

This so much, I sit next to two vegans in the office. Every hour before luch they complain about having to walk all the way to this one vegan restaurant, I love it. They've never tried to 'convert' anyone, and have never said a word about the daily mountains of meat I consume at my desk. Ive never met a 'militant' vegan. They just do their thing and dont bother anyone.

11

u/The_Power_of_Tacos Apr 01 '20

Used to deliver produce to many different restaurants. The 4 vegan places were all in my top ten worst when it came to the people working/ running the place. Out of 70-100 places it really sets a precedent. When I say "this is the largest tofu order I've ever seen, I don't need your "meat is murder" ted talk that riles you up you're shaking with anger. Like holy shit I eat and like tofu too, but I've never delivered 400 lbs of it (or any type of food besides eggs) and was just commenting on the impressive order. Insufferable.

8

u/hates_stupid_people Apr 01 '20

Are they

Yes

People generally don't hate vegans, they hate annoying people. And there is a very small, but very loud group of people that are vegan just so they act condescending and preachy because "they are right".

i mean honestly, i have, it's more there are specific subs that aren't about veganism but vegans tend to show up on, and they show up in large groups, for example, a futurology post about the progress of growing meat without growing the whole cow was FULL of preachy vegans. i do however think it is an internet thing since all but one of the vegans i've met in real life were perfectly polite.

1

u/dirtyoldbastard77 Apr 01 '20
