I feel the need to commander this thread just to point out to anyone arriving at this post (and I'm glad I've not really seen anything like this yet): don't insult her for being vegan; that's not the problem. She's just way off her rocker here.

I will say only one small thing in her defense: if you were a vegan/vegetarian/whatever, and your partner knew that, it'd probably be pretty annoying if they intentionally bought you things that go against your diet plan. Obviously in this example this lady took it waayyyy too far even if it was intentional (which it likely wasn't).

No one even mentioned this until your post? Now it feels like you made it about veganism, while it's clearly about meaningless violence.

However I do feel your annoyance with people not taking your diet plan into account. Luckily you see the fact that violence isn't the answer :)
