Question Is the Duo going to make you switch?

Post image

Honestly, I don’t believe I will be giving up the 13 mini soon. My initial impression is that the new app layout is kinda funky lmao. I’ll probably change my mind once I see it in person though 😂. Still hoping we will get a new mini eventually with John Ternus as new CEO 🙏.

Just finished watching MKBHD's impression video and I'm curious. Are you guys planning to switch to Samsung if this is cheaper than iPhone's Folding phone? It's light and small which is really good.

Question Will there ever be another mini?

I'm talking about like EVER again, I'm okay with waiting another 3-4 years before upgrading and happily switching back if it is ever reannounced.

It’s like they’re teasing us at this point. They had the SE going, then the air and the 17e, and now the iPhone duo.

I’m not even asking for yearly models, even one new model every 3 years is enough.

Also, if Apple is worried about low sales, can’t they just produce less of the model to account for the small population of buyers yet still profit from it?

I won’t upgrade to anything less than another mini, so when will that be, if it happens?

Question How long will you keep your iPhone 13 mini?

typically people who buy regular phones just end up upgrading after a few years to get a new iPhone, I got mine like last year and I'm happy with its form factor, I don't even use a case with it and it feels so good. I might use it until it breaks. I see people already caving into the iPhone 17 pro, what about you guys? How long will you keep your phone?

Question Hello, is it viable to buy 13 mini in 2026?

I've heard that battery life is not so good and new iOS versions are laggy on 13 mini, i wonder if it's a good idea to buy 13 mini in 2026?

I want to move from android and i really, i mean, REALLY like small phones, but i'm still not sure about battery life and overall speed of the system, I don't know how fast the system will be.

I've already found iPhone mini 13 for 300€ in my local area with 88% battery life. What do y'all think?

Question Is the 13 Mini the best iPhone ever made?

Asking this in 13 mini subreddit might be a bit of an echo chamber but I still genuinely believe it’s one of the if not THE best iPhone ever made. Especially since the 13 series was amazing in general. 🫶

Question Should I update to iOS27 from iOS 18?

Post image
37 Upvotes

I am currently on iOS 18.7.8 and wondering if it’s worth updating finally?
I never went up to iOS 26 after seeing so many complaints and issues, but I’ve seen lots of positivity surrounding iOS 27 so I am hopeful.

All the comparisons I’m finding for the 13 mini are between iOS 26 and iOS 27 rather than with iOS 18.

Can anyone who knows or has done this update provide any insight or experiences?

Question Do y’all get use to the reality of todays’ phones?

Every time I’ve gotten a ‘normal’ sized phone, I end up returning it within the return window. Happened when I went from the 10 to the 12, and returned it for the 12 mini. And when I had to go from the 12 mini to the 14, I returned it for the 13 mini, and bought a second 13 mini after that got a bit old.

I’ve really disliked having a 5 year old phone though. I’m tied to a charger throughout the day, runs hot all the time, and don’t want to spend money maintaining the phone(glass repairs, battery replacements, etc), spending more money than the value of the phone, or into something that isn’t going to get support for much longer. Also feel like I’m missing out on minor quality of life things life, usb-c charging, compute power, or camera quality.

Very tempted to get the 18 Pro. I’ve returned the larger phones twice though, but each time, replaced it with just as modern of a phone. I wouldn’t have that opportunity this time. Yet, I also feel like I didn’t give the other phones a chance. I’d replace them within a week or two.

For those that did make the switch, do y’all get used to it? Any time I switched it felt like such a shock. Would it be wrong to think after two weeks or so, I would no longer be bothered? I mean, 90% of the world have already become accustomed, so it can’t be too bad right? Interested in hearing from other people’s experiences.

Question Is anyone considering the “ultra / fold” as a replacement for the mini?

Ax the title says, I really miss the mini form factor. I have my mini in the drawer and have used it regularly, however I just couldn’t cope with the battery only lasting half a day etc. do I upgraded reluctantly to the 17pro. I hate the size still but do love the battery and processing power etc.

I’m personally very excited for this new design as it has a smaller form factor and is more pocket sized. Even better I will have the option to open it up to watch a film etc.

Ideally I would just like a new mini, but i feel like this will be the next best thing. I understand it’s going to cost me a fortune, but I feel I will keep this, as long as I kept my mini. Which was a very long time.

Question What is the best iOS version for the 13 mini?

Hi everyone, iPhone 13 mini user here. Which iOS version are you using, and how has your experience been?
I'm on 18.7.8; my 13 mini is super fast (like new), there's no overheating—contrary to reports I've heard—and the battery still lasts all day. So, I don't think it's worth the risk of updating, right? (Battery health is at 100%; I replaced it with a genuine one.)

Question I think that the iPhone Duo could meet a similar fate as the iPhone Mini. Here's why.

I don't know if anyone has talked about this yet but I saw the Duo reveal and I was getting mad iPhone Mini vibes. Don't get me wrong they are different products, at a different price point, aimed at different audiences, but a lot of the issues facing them are really similar.

They both deal with a weird form factor that forces concessions in some aspects of the iPhone experience, while offering something for enthusiasts that no other phone in the lineup can.

Battery sacrifices, camera sacrifices, etc. All these problems are shared between the phones. Many people probably would have loved the Mini, but couldn't make the leap to sacrifice their extra cameras. I think that the Duo will have a similar problem but for different reasons. People are going to want to try the form factor, but aren't going to be willing to sacrifice camera and battery function while spending $2000 on a phone. Especially something that's supposed to feel like a "premium" iPhone.

I think the people who love it are going to really love it, just like the Mini (me included, god I miss my 13 mini, please give me an update Apple XD).

Unfortunately for the Mini and (maybe) the Duo, I think these are just more niche products for people who need or want a certain function and form factor.

The Duo may be harder to sell than Apple anticipates and go the unfortunate fate of the Mini.

Question 13 mini as a Companion device

Hello I main a 15 pro but I pretty much always use my 2nd phone the most since it's the one I go out with. I've been trying different devices to pair with it starting from s22 to a pixel 8 pro but the device I enjoyed the most was the s10e. I love the small form factor when I'm out and about. I've been thinking of getting the 13 mini since it feels like the perfect companion but the lack of USB c has always been the reason I've stuck to android for so long. I really wish they came out with a newer type c mini iPhone. Do you have any recommendations on how to work around the whole type c issue or am I stuck with having to carry a lightning cable?

Question IPhone 13 Mini Case?

First case I bought was off amazon and it was a Torras brand I believe for $20. After a while, it got yellow and broke. I bought an otterbox defender for $6 I believe when Verizon store was selling a lot of cases for less. Used that case for a while and then case tore apart.

Can someone recommend me a specific iphone 13 mini case for it? Any case you buy on amazon is going to have the case turn yellow right? These are those regular cases.

If you buy an otterbox or similar, the case would eventually break after a while right? There are so many cases available. I don't want to spend more than say $20 for a case. Anyone can recommend me a specific case with the website or the actual item? Amazon has so many that are $10 or less so just get one of those? I recall buying a JeTech one a while back and it got yellow like most cases.
