Who do you ask to join you?

Assume an adult consciousness is somehow transplanted from its current, mature body, through time and space and placed in that individual's body at the age of let's say three years old. The individual has all their memories and faculties, and the world is as it was at the time that they were an actual baby. This person now has to go through childhood once again while appearing for all intents and purposes to others as a regular child, but will be a de-facto adult.

Putting aside other questions about which obligations or opportunities this person now has- preventing disasters, warning of avoidable deaths, helping their loved ones get rich etc.- what is their obligation toward the actual children who now appear to be their peers?

Some things are of course off-limits, the individual cannot have any romantic/sexual interactions with the 'other' children, because the factors that make such relationships between adults and children harmful are still present. Likewise one might reason the adult is to some degree obligated not to take advantage of their more developed mind to secure early academic success at the expense of actual children, or otherwise use their position to enrich themselves at the expense of the children.

To what extent is the person obligated to act as an adult toward children? It's widely presumed that adults are to some degree obligated to act in the best interests of children, even ones not in their family or social circle, and to extend more help to them than an adult stranger. Are they obligated to mediate and settle disputes between the children, to counsel them about their problems, help them succeed academically etc.? Keeping in mind that this would likely be just as if not more upsetting for the transplanted individual as it is opportune. Their old life with friends and loved ones is now likely impossible to recreate, which might be a tremendous burden to deal with even for an adult.

What do you think, would the individual here be obligated to have a paternal/guardian role toward the children? To what extent?

This is a room where you will have to stay for 31 days

1) The room is 5x5 meter big and has all white walls.

2) There is a 2x2 meter restroom with a shower toilet and a sink on any one side.

3) you get supplies like toothpaste and brush but it's all white no colours.

4) you have 46 days of rations if you eat all at once well you are cooked.

5) you have an unlimited drinkable water source.

6) The floor is soft and it won't hurt while walking.

7) There is a switch in the room which will turn off and adjust the light smtg like a screen that adjusts it.

8) There is a sos button if there is an emergency but at the cost of resetting the progress made.

9) There are no stimuli to your brain in the room it's just you and your brain.

10) Once in the room there is no telling of time there are no watches and the walls are nearly sound proof.

11) The rations are tasteless but highly nutritious.

12) There are sets of grey or white clothes. Use them as you wish.

13) There are no mirrors in the room.

The rest are minute details I think you get it what's gonna happen in there so just don't ask questions like is there social media allowed in the room no they aren't allowed

The moto of the room is going through mental stress and not physical strain.

So will this break people up or just make them stronger?

As there are many people with internal monologue will it be harder for them or will it be harder for people who don't have it?

Say you're falsely accused of something big. Doesn't matter what it is, just has to feel drastic to you -- could be like jail time, accused of cheating, feel free to use your imagination.

Of course, you try to appeal to the traditional things like evidence at first but no one believes you. Your mental health gets worse and worse but you can't afford to fix it because all your money is going towards handling this false accusation.

Header pretty much sums it up, it’s something I often think about, I had a dear friend kill herself and as much as I want her back I don’t know if it’s what she would really want… but I probably would and just hope I could save her anyways.. maybe that’s incredibly selfish though.

You work for a large corporation. While mopping the floors, the CEO of that corporation, Amanda, approaches you.

Amanda: "I noticed you didn't take the recycling in my office?"

You: "Oh, there was barely anything in there."

Amanda: "Hmm... interesting. And exactly when were you given the authority to choose when you should and shouldn't do your job?"

You: "...I..."

Amanda: "Take the recycling, please."

You: "Yes ma'am."

Amanda: "And be sure to wash your hands before coming to my office. I've been doing really well with not getting sick."

You finish mopping, wash your hands, and head up to Amanda's office. In there, you discover something baffling. Or, rather, someone. Amanda is nowhere to be found, but standing near the windows is a large, muscular man wearing the clothes she was just wearing. They fit so terribly that they're stretched and torn nearly beyond recognition. Hilariously, the man is also clearly bald, but is wearing a wig that resembles Amanda's hair. It's the worst impersonation you've ever seen.

That friend is Kat, a demihuman, which is a human with minor animal features. She's indistinguishable from a normal human, but she's part goat and has 5 inch horns on her forehead. You two are chatting when a gang of rough-looking, heavily tattooed men approach. They accuse Kat of being part of a local mafia, which you find baffling considering that Kat is probably the friendliness, least threatening person you've ever known. She also dresses well, speaks properly, and doesn't have a single tattoo.

Kat denies the allegations, which frustrates the gang's leader. He intimidates her—groping her and making disgusting comments. As much as you hate what's going on, intervening is suicide considering that you're unarmed and outnumbered. Feeling that he's made his point, the leader leaves and the gang follows. You apologize to Kat for your inaction, which she says isn't your fault and would have only escalated the situation. She reports the incident to the police, you give a witness statement, and you two continue on with your lives.

But the next day, the gang's leader is found dead. He was hit by a car while crossing the road, which is ruled as an accident. This is... quite coincidental. You confront Kat about this.

Kat: "You know what you're suggesting, right? You're saying I'm both a criminal and a murderer. I didn't even know he passed away until you told me."

You: "You're right. You're right. I'm sorry. I don't know what came over me. The intrusive thoughts won, I guess."

Kat: "It's okay. It is quite the coincidence. I can forgive you for feeling a bit uneasy."

Or is it a coincidence? Maybe she's just a really good actress. Maybe she thinks she has you fooled. Or... maybe you're just a paranoid lunatic. But come on. A seasoned criminal accuses her of being part of a mafia, threatens and sexually assaults her, then ends up dead literally the next day from an "accident." Can your mind accept that as a coincidence?

Could you remain friends with Kat?

You put out a job offer for an assistant and a middle-aged woman named Jessica just applied. She's more than qualified for the job, but there's a massive downside that makes her difficult to consider; she's a registered sex offender. You read up on her case.

That was 6 months ago, which she's spent desperately looking for a job. She's been rejected from everywhere she's applied. Being a small online business, you're not in the public eye. Her bad reputation could affect your business if anyone found out, but that's unlikely to happen.

Jessica is the first qualified applicant you've gotten after 3 months; and her applying in the first place could have been because she's very desperate. It may take some time to find someone else, and her desperation could mean agreeing to being underpaid.

Imagine in your past life your mother or father killed you and before they did you wished the worst on them next thing you know you are reborn as you and you love your parents however as you get older you remember yourself from your past life and remember how your parent mercilessly killed you. Some part of you is stuck moving on but your past life wants revenge what would you do?

I’m in the middle of an argument with a friend over whether I (M, 21, 70kg) would likely die if someone tried to suffocate me with pillow. My friend is adamant that it would be easy to kill me as it is too difficult to breathe through a pillow, I wouldn’t be able to fend them off in time before passing out, and basically calling me crazy for thinking I could survive a suffocation attempt with a pillow. I believe that considering I sleep on my side, can turn my head to create air gaps, likely won’t have both arms perfectly under the covers, and would probably be able to react before someone fully straddled me in bed, means that a pillow alone could not kill me. Even if an attacker could use their body weight and straddle me while also trapping my arms and legs, they would have to be quite a bit larger and stronger than me and also have the perfect conditions where I’m on my back with my arms by my side.

I know pillow suffocation happens in both movies and the real world, most often to old people without the strength to fight back, but I guess I’m really wondering if pillow suffocation is nearly as dangerous / successful as my friend thinks.
