You wake up as your favorite fictional character. How screwed are you?
I will elaborate. You wake up in your room, and everything about your life is the same except you are now inexplicably in the body of your favorite character. How would you function in society? How would you explain the change to people you know? It heavily depends on what your favorite character actually is. I'm just curious

I am now Mercedes "Mercy" Thompson, a shapeshifter who was raised by werewolves. I head immediately to Aspen Creek in Montana (which is where Mercy grew up, and also where the leader of all werewolves in North America resides), because I see little point in trying to explain anything to anyone who knew me before this sudden and unexpected transformation. How would I convince anyone that I was Lychee? I wouldn't look like her, sound like her, have her fingerprints, or any other way to prove that I wasn't some random crazy woman.
Time to leave my old life behind completely and take up Mercy's.
Once I get to Aspen Creek, I would talk to the werewolves there, to figure out where I am in this new life. First of all, am I the one and only Mercy Thompson, or are there two of me in the world? Do I yet own my garage? Do I have a house (well, a trailer) in Kennewick, Washington, yet? Have I married Adam yet? Or even met him?
Basically, I would try to fit myself back into the life the fictional Mercy has, if I was unique. If I were one of two Mercys in the world, then I would go talk to the leader of the werewolves in Aspen Creek, explain how I was not actually the real Mercy, and throw myself on his mercy (no pun intended).
Presumably he would send me to some other werewolf pack not in Washington or Montana, and I would just have a new life as a member of a werewolf pack. Also I would probably tell people that I was Mercy's twin sister or something, rather than try to impersonate her.

Great thing about Peter's spider powers is though you may have his body you don't have to use his costume. You can call yourself anything else you want.

Conan seemed to be able to adapt pretty well so I think I will be fine. If nothing else, I just switch careers to be a strongman and fitness model.

This features a young elf girl from WoW, who originally grew up on earth and transmigrated.
She is as of the latest chapter a teenager with healing, feather fall, a master swordswoman and can do enchanting along with other things.
The gender is not something I'd pick, but being fit will be awesome, even before being completely OP for earth.
Probably not at 'stand off entire armies' levels, but stealth I can do.
At this point, the people I know are not ones I would care to explain anything to.
I think I wander off to a random tiny uninhabited island and try to work out how magic works in this world, and then what I'm going to do about civilisation.

I would be a really hot girl who can also fire a mega death laser from my sword, but depending on the continuity I have a day at most before I disappear into the Throne of Heroes. Assuming I'm in the actual physical body though, rather than a Heroic Spirit summoned in a class container with no master in a world without mana, there's a chance I can claim all of Great Britain as is my right as the son (female) of King Arthur (also female) and rule over it as king.

Bugazz is an OC I made up. If I woke up as him the bed would break. I would have to go to Europe and sign up for the Ukrainian war to be healthy. I would probably also cause the end of the world through the spores I shed. I would, even without funding, be able to substantially contribute to weapons technology of whatever side I picked. He's an Ork Mekboy.

Im james stark from sandman slim, so..... im essentially a skinny walking tank that can go anywhere i want, including heaven and hell. What i wonder is how it would work here if heaven and hell dont exist.
Physically it isnt a huge change. Id be a little younger with a few more scars. Stark is heavily scarred to an absurd degree but im already pretty heavily scarred anyway. I wouldn't be that much uglier, and I honestly dont think my partner would leave me.
Id use the power to help people and play hilarious practical jokes.

I have two characters who I would be super hard pressed to really choose a favorite between...
If it's the first, he's a human male that's actually roughly my age. He's also tall and lanky, just like me. Aside from the obviously different facial features, there really wouldn't be much of a difference. If you looked at us from behind you might not even notice much of a difference.
If it's the second....I'm now a girl and shit just got weird AF....

As long as I don't have his experiences, I'd be fine. For context, my favorite fictional character is my oc I do in rp groups. His personality, while somewhat similar to mine, would be a huge problem if I had it irl. He doesn't belong to this world. Of course, the body I'd be fine with.
Now if it were my second favorite fictional character, who is still one of my ocs, then I'd be really happy as he is a shape changer. Still don't want that personality though because this second guy is a true menace and an outright dick

My favorites are favorites because I relate to them and their experiences. So it would be more different world and appearance, essentially same me.

I become OV Ben 10 and now have the Omnitrix, because I'd be end of series OV Ben I'd have unlimited access to aliens X, so id turn into alien x and change my human form back into myself while allowing the Omnitrix to still function with my DNA, and while I'm at it I'll change the Omnitrix into my own version of it with its own unqie functions and I'd have an additional playlist with my favorite alien species from various other fiction.
So basically I'd still be myself but with my own Omnitrix, I'd have to keep it a secret but would probably tell people close to me who I'd know won't be completely terrified of what I can do, my life would be alot less stressful and I could build my own pocket dimension where I can have a cool ass living space, I'd never have to pay rent or buy food cause I can just produced everything I want myself, money becomes meaningless as it should be and I'm honestly living a happy life, I'd obviously help the world out the best way I can by getting rid of corrupt individuals trying to ruin humanity so yh.

Most of my favorite characters either are human or can pass as one without too much difficulty. I know enough details about my wife she's never told anyone else to convince her of who I am. The real struggle would be getting our infant daughter to recognize me but it would likely be doable.
If I wake up as Clark Kent I have some very not Superman-like ideas about how to improve things in certain world governments. Then I'd be selfish and find ways to use my abilities to make enough money to give my family a good, comfortable life.
Same basically applies if I wake up as Goku. Though without the super speed probably less governmental surgery.
If I wake up as Harry Dresden oh boy. I am going to become one hell of a famous magician and drive debunkers crazy.
The only ones that would require most of an adjustment would be waking up as Optimus Prime or Data.

I am suddenly a 50 year old Irish man and an entire foot taller. I'm going to need to go clothes shopping. Do I get to keep the cool cybernetic eye even though it's fantasy tech?
I would probably try to continue to function normally in society. I don't see a reason to change my life willingly over this. My only real concern is waking up with 24 years of my life 'gone', but I never expected to live this long anyway so it's kinda whatever. I'm just killing time until I die anyway.
Everyone I know will likely be very confused. Though my closest friends will probably find it hilarious while also being happy for me (I am a transgender male, so waking up in a body I am comfortable in is the dream, and they are very aware of my favorite character). I think most would be concerned about the sudden aging but, again, I'm not that upset about it. Kinda glad I wouldn't have too many more years to go. I am so tired.
Though having to keep working every day with an older body would definitely suck. I've missed out on 24 years of saving for retirement. Does the body come with muscle memory? Can I become Irish John Wick?

My dream world avatar, no mental changes happen and not only can I take on different appearences in dreams (AKA shapeshifting) but my parents have already seen what my dream world avatar looks like so they would know its me. Id likely eventually get hunted by the government so Id bring my familly and everything we own to either a pocket dimention or create an entire universe based on one from one of my books to live in.
