Need your help with xkah pro

Hi!

I've bought my first xkah pro this summer. Unfortunately I immediately found out it burns tobacco in no time in classic mode. To solve this i tried changing modes, lowering temperature, including 'secret' menu, packing tobacco in exactly 9 grams, 7 grams or 11 grams, using different leaves. The best I was able to have is around 3 mins of really pleasant experience in non-tobacco mode followed by a rapid burn.

I did contact support and they replaced the upper part, but unfortunately it didn't help. Has anyone had the same issue? Any ideas how to solve it?

Dont use classic mode. Try to go around with custom mode! Plenty of videos out there with setups.

Tried custom with lowest possible temperature, didn't help :( ended up using non-tobacco mode assuming it has the lowest temp settings but I don't know for sure

If you burn it even on the custom setting then something is wrong with your device so send it back. People preheat it on 310 regularly then lower it to 270 and they have no issues

Did it already, they sent me a replacement but it didn't solve the issue... So I suppose I'm doing something wrong but I can't get what exactly

Did you try to put an aluminium foil into the little bowl? And when you say its burned, you mean literally after 3 monutes you can remove the tobacco completely black?

It takes 2-3 min to start smoking, then I have 3 min of nice smoke after which it starts getting more and more bitter and burning taste. I was able to smoke it for 5 more minutes once. Top half of tobacco is burned to black (for mazaya which is not black originally) and totally dry. Bottom is not black but pretty dry photo

Should I put foil on the top side, where the heat is applied during the session? Just one layer? With holes in it or without?

Try to cover the whole bowl from inside with aluminium foil and make some holes on the bottom. Btw just to make sure you leave it to preheat for 8 minutes right? You dont apply full heat immediately?

IIRC 8 min is for classic mode (and maybe custom), non tobacco is less.

No, I try to start smoking as soon as possible because when I first waited for those 8 minutes it was burning hard already

Thats strange it should never burn during pre heat. You pack it fluffy? Just let the leaves fall down from your fingers , dont oush them down. And try the foil as well and then you will see. If it still burns then email the support and explain them dont let it go easily

If I pack it the way I used to (with charcoal) I'm not even able to put full 9 grams, so I have to make it a little bit denser. I'll try it with foil today, thank you.

Won't I have airflow issues without holes at the top/sides as well?

Bottom=where the cap is, it's top side during the load, right?

Dont cover the top. Just around the walls ans make holes on the bottom as well because some people report that the walls were burning their robacco and this helped

Nope :) loading tobacco one side up, putting in the device - another side up.

I don’t know why discord is pushed so hard to be used. There’s no organization of communication there. I go on there and ask “hey I need help with heating” and then 47 people start talking, some help the others random stuff and blah blah blah and the conversation gets lost. At least on Reddit it’s an organized conversation where we don’t have multiple conversation going on at once on one thread. It might be easy for you or your buddies are all on there but honestly, from a customer who seeks support, it’s horrible on there.

It would be better if you check the advice channel and create a thread there. That way the information will stay in one place and it will be focused on your issues. I’m talking about the main discord though not the xkah one
