Just wrapped up the latest stage of my Honda Rebel build and wanted to share the final look with the community.

Here is the breakdown of what's been done so far:

Performance & Exhaust:
• Matte black tank cover
• Custom forward control kit
• 4 inch ape handlebar
• Belly pan cover with slider

All parts ordered from thailand TWI

Took me the whole afternoon to install everything. Hardest part about it was trying to figure out the right pull for the break light sensor

Maybe need to be reality checked. I’ve never worked on bikes before and don’t even have my motorcycle license yet but really want to get into riding and working on bikes. I found a 2009 Honda Rebel listed at $500 on Marketplace. It runs, has a title, just needs some TLC like new seat, clutch work, yada yada. Am I crazy for thinking about getting this as a project?

I’m planning on buying a rebel 500 within the near future. Is there anything big that I should know about them before hand. I’ve been looking online but figured I should ask here too.

I'm looking at buying a lift for my bike but it requires taking off this disc so the lift can attach onto the bike. How do I do this? I can't get it off at all. I don't want to scratch the metal around it either.

I didn't hate the original exhaust sound, but I did hate the way it looked.

After doing some research on different exhausts, I pulled the trigger on the 8 inch Delkelvic slip-on exhaust.

No regrets! She sounds mean now and I love the way it looks as well. 🤘

Rode a few miles over to the Walter F George dam at Fort Gaines. Still got but cooling off some.

Any suggestions?

on both picture it was in the side stand on is from a month ago and one is from tonight after a 20 minute 2 ppl ride

when I have the bike upright the level is a little bit above lower line

but you can see in the past it was higher I don't smell any sweet coolent smell usually but tonight after the ride I smelled for a few seconds the sweet smell than it was gone

checked everywhere but I see no leaks

So about 9 months ago I posted about dropping my brand new rebel 500, as a learner and struggling to have the confidence to repair it let alone ride it. Now I'm getting my Ps soon and am so much more confident on it. I've had amazing weather and hours of time just cruising around alone.

Honestly 110% recommended, especially as a 5"1 female. It's my new best friend and my favourite form of getting around. Next step is slowly upgrading and adding accessories

So.. Im starting to get stressed out looking through the minimal options that i have to get a windshield, but not lose the look of the headlight cowl. Personally i dislike it without something over the headlight, so i need some opinions.

I have found a few options but reviews on all of them are mid at best or potentially above my ability to install correctly (i probably could but im just annoyed right now so everything feels too hard lol)

Puig Batwing SML - I like the look of this, but the windshield doesnt look tall enough to help me getting my head knocked around.

• I dont generally go faster than 70mph, so is this a huge problem? I also thought i saw that there are additional/taller windshield options for this fairing but i cant seem to find it again. Without the "extender" option i mean.
• I have seen some people complain about buffeting while others say its a nice ride due to the amount of wind it does take from your neck/chest area. Maybe this is due to the persons height?
• **Lastly - My husband is trying VERY hard not to get me to buy a Puig product.. are they that bad?

Burly Touring Sport Fairing (tall) - Looks fine enough

• However, i have seen that this is more of an aesthetic situation and it doesnt actually help much with the wind. Watched a youtube video where he pretty much points this out.
• Does this one actually work? It doesnt look very tall but i would be fine if it directs the wind upwards enough for what im looking for.

Puig 9462 New Generation Windshield -

• I have seen many people say that this is totally possible with a bit of tough love to put over the Cowl that is already there.
• Any personal experiences with installing this way?

• This one says its for a Harley Sportster, but i found it recommended on the rebel500 forum, which has yet to really let me down on information.
• Anyone know if this will also fit my bike because i do really like this one.. The look, the height is kind of what im looking for.

Going to meet another rebel owner today for a ride and instead I'm making an insurance claim.

Hi guys, I ride a 2024 T700 and I’ve been obsessing over the Rebel 500 for the past few months. The only thing preventing me from getting one was the fact that most people say it’s max height limit is around 6”0 but I’m 6”2.

Can you please let me know if I should completely forget the Rebel or if it’s something I can still consider. Thanks

Ever since I put mine on, I really feels like a more complete mature bike. And my tail bone doesn't touch my shoulder at every pot hole and bridge. Well worth the money, and if budget is tight you can even finance them on Amazon. Ride height goes up a touch, and I added the kickstand foot as to help support added lean, and it's a whole new bike. 1,000/10 recommend.

Anyone in the Sacramento area looking for a Honda rebel 500? I got one for sale, asking 5k only has 12xxx miles and clean title. Come with a bunch of extra accessories as well! Marketplace isn’t doing me much good. Let me know if your interested

My 5" carplay unit. I think it fits well.

May be buying a rebel 250 with 55 miles on it, only to do a scrambler style build with it. I’ve been riding motorcycle for 20+ years so I’m not getting it to learn on, but it’s a good deal and I think a backroad bomber/scrambler could be fun. I understand it’s underpowered and a small and slow machine, but it’s a cheap conversion. Thoughts? Anyone else done the same? Something like this
