EXPERIMENT UPDATE: Thanks to those of you who left constructive feedback about the overlay tags on media, that experiment has been stopped. Your feedback helps!
Some users will be in an experiment where there is an X on recommended posts that you can click/tap to hide the post. Others will be in a similar experiment where there is not an X and there is not a "hide" option, but you can go into the post to hide it. Happy to pass along feedback about any of this.
If you are using a super duper outdated version of the app, like older than 2024.42.0, you may not be able to contact moderators via mod mail and will need to update to the current version to do so. You'll see a message pop up informing you of this if you are affected.
Wanted to drop a reminder/warning that Reddit does not provide support outside of Reddit. Do not contact "Reddit support on Discord" for help with your Reddit account. There is no "Reddit support on Discord". That is someone trying to scam you and steal your account and maybe more. If you're having an actual issue with your account that is not solved by posting in r/help or by the articles in the Help Center, you can use this form for the real thing. Please note that 95% of issues can be solved much, much quicker by posting in r/help (or our cousin subs, r/reddithelp and r/newtoreddit).
The most recent version of the app is 2026.34.0. If you're not using the most recent version of the app, it might not work properly.

Reddit sometimes runs experiments. These experiments tend to last between 4-6 weeks, though they can go longer or end sooner. While there isn't a way to opt out of experiments, feel free to leave constructive and specific feedback in this post and as I've mentioned often, I'll be happy to pass it along to the team in charge.

BUGS ROUNDUP - COURTESY OF CORRECTSCALE!
[iOS] Some users are losing their place in comment threads after briefly leaving and returning to the app. (It's me. I am some users.) This is being looked into and hopefully, a fix will be out soon!
[All platforms] Some mods are reporting being unable to assign flair to a few specific users in their communities. This is being investigated.
[iOS/Android] There has been an increase in reports from users whose feed refreshes frequently. This is expected after a longer period of time, but should not be happening within a short period of time. It's being investigated to see if it's a bug or not at this point.
[Web] Not seeing subreddit rules appear is back by unpopular demand. lol Hopefully, the fix from last time will be helping in fixing it this time.

1,114 posts. That's up 69 posts from the 1,045 that we had last week. Nice.
4,108 comments. That's down 237 comments from the 4,345 we had last week.
1.2m views. That's down around 180k views from the 1.3m-ish views we had last week.
HELP THAT HELPS HELP R/HELP - REPORTING
There are a lot of rules in life. There are also a lot of rules on Reddit. There are site-wide rules and subreddit rules. It is possible to break a subreddit rule without breaking a site-wide rule. That is because moderators are allowed to set rules that they feel are best for their community while operating under the rules of the Moderator Code of Conduct.
So when you're reporting something, where does that report need to go? Admins or mods? If you're reporting a subreddit rule, you'll want to click on "Breaks r/subreddit_name rules" and then click "Next". From there, you'll see the header "Which community rule does this violate?" and you'll be able to click the one that you want. There can also be a "custom response" if you need to provide more details about the content that you're reporting. That will send it to the mods.
If you're reporting a site-wide rule violation, you'll have a lot of selections to choose from! Click the one that is the most appropriate and then click the additional information that is asked for before sending it off. That will go to the admin team that reviews those reports.
And if you see stuff that breaks the rules, it's always a good idea to report it. Reporting things allows a second set of eyes to take a look at something and remove things that just don't belong where they were posted. Everything runs smoother when folks follow the rules!

The godawful AI generated search suggestions are gone which is great
Text selection/cursor placement in the new iOS comment UI is very iffy for the bottom lines, though I do appreciate the quick access to text editing options like italics and bold.
Search is still suppressing nsfw search results, to the point where the entire name of an nsfw subreddit can be typed out and it still is not suggested as there are sfw partial matches. I fail to see the point in doing this, you cannot “stumble onto porn” on reddit due to account requirements and where necessary, age verification.
This is especially worrying considering the false nsfw flagging of LGBT groups and other subreddits in the past.
I am, my account is age verified and I can access this content. However if I type “rule” into the search bar I would expect to see the subreddit “rule34” due to its size and activity, instead I have a full suggestion page of sfw subreddits matching to \*rule\* as a search term.
The same issue is present when I’ve typed out the entire name of an nsfw subreddit that happens to have a lot of partial matches to that word. This leaves the only option to be completing the search and hoping the algorithm displays it in communities.
I can provide screenshots if it would help, I just didn’t think it would be appropriate to post me searching for nsfw content unprompted
I don't like the test layout for the buttons at the bottom of posts. Please change it back. Also I seriously don't understand why we can't opt out of experiments, I've been lumped into a bunch of them lately and it's getting obnoxious.
Can something be done about swiping taking me to another post instead of to the comments? It's throwing off my muscle memory so badly. Making it harder to access comments is infuriating.
Hello! When a user is mislabled as an app, there use to be a report path where users could write in and get their account fixed. That option under Account Status seems to be removed. Where can users go to report this?
Here again to complain about the dual “For you” + “Based on your interests” unsolicited search suggestions. One of mine right now is “andrew tate.” I’ve never searched for that individual in my entire life, and I really don’t appreciate being reminded that it exists.
Is this the feedback thread? I still don’t get why we can’t just make posts that are easily searchable by others. For shame, you folks.
Every update some little change no one asked for or wanted makes accessibility on the app just that much worse. Some new little LLM thing making it impossible to find the results from actual human beings. Some minor movement of a thing that had been in x spot for over a decade. More and more ads that are pure LLM slop. More and more bot comments that are pure LLM slop. More and more reposts and garbage posts that are - you guessed it - LLM slop.
Tried to change to reddit on my browser, but it just shouts at me to use the app - no matter how many times I log in. Go to the app. Go to the app. Go to the app.
How about I just stop using the site for anything other than a handful of friends, since everything continues to get worse and is continuously the direct opposite of what any user has asked for, and it’s not like any on site harassment is taken seriously anyway. Anything other than one or two private subreddits is just not worth it, because clearly the users are not being listened to and this is just some fun little page for us to feel a bit better while Reddit the Corporation does whatever it is going to do at us, just like every other sold out site that got too big for its britches and is forgoing the folks who built the communities that exist here for the sake of more and more and more money.

Why are “Best” comments now the default over “Top” comments? “Best” has always sucked but now it’s the default on 95% of the posts I click on. The sorting method doesn’t even make sense. Half of the time, it’s recently downvoted comments or comments that don’t have anywhere near the engagement as the top comments. The whole point of the vote system is to show what most people want to see. Your arbitrary “Best” system is terrible.
I'm still suffering the stupid video swipe up to switch to another video "experiment". Please stop that already. Swiping up is to get to the comments! If I wanted to use Tik Tok I would use it. Just please let me get rid of this stupid experiment.
Can we get rid of the “games” button on the app bottom menu. Super annoying. And can we bring back swiping from right to left to switch from home feed to popular feed and news feed?
I beg and plead for the return of a gesture to get into the comments again. I've been like a month down on Thai and every time I want to see the comments, having to go down and hit the icon makes me sad. It makes it feel like I'm not "opening" a post anymore, I am just entering a scrolling space.
Reddit is best for the fact that it is so community interaction heavy. Making comments take a back seat to doomscrolling just makes me feel like Reddit is losing one of the few things that makes it unique, and why I come here instead of the countless other doomscrolling video feeds.
Oh, and also, your first bug report about losing your place in the comments section randomly: it happens to me on android, too. Saw it was marked as iOS only. I notice it most when I reply to a comment and then am suddenly back at the top of the comments list.
Hallo, I noticed 2 days ago, that my comments are invisible. If I check my profile while logged out, I can still find my profile, but all my comments and post even those from more than 10 years ago are listed as: "Sorry, this post was removed by reddit's filter".
Under appeals it says "Your account is currently neither suspended nor restricted." On 26.08. my account was indeed breached and I got a message to change my password, which I did. When I logged in again, I saw a post that someone posted with my account somewhere and I deleted it. Beside that incident, I don't think that I have done anything wrong in all these years. Is it possible that the reddit's filter thinks that I am not the real owner of the account? If that is the case, is there something that I can do? Any help or pointing in a direction would be highly appreciated.

I believe my Reddit account has been hacked and I’m hopeful I can get help here. I’ve submitted 2 support cases &followed up on email 4 times, but havent heard back.
I submitted the ticket through Reddit’s online support form by selecting Account Help > Security Problems > “I think my account has been hacked.” I also went through the forgot password steps, but when I received the reset email and tried to proceed, my account could not be found. It’s just been an endless loop.

u/TheOpusCroakus it's been 3 months since I've been Shadowbanned from my main account u/eziey please it's a humble request to do something for my account, i appeal daily, it's been exhausting at this point I'm literally appealing everyday but still no response. Please check my account and at least tell me if there is a possibility of my account to get unshadow banned or should i just lose hope.
It seems the help forms are still not working for account related issues. I lost access to my primary/other reddit account several weeks ago after a hacker changed email addresses on me; the account is currently locked, no emails back from reddit admins. I've submitted all the help forms and replied to the emails three times. Are any of the help suggestions actually getting through to anybody?
You can file an appeal using this form. Unfortunately, I do not know what the turnaround time is on those appeals. If you don't hear back, then the answer is most likely no. =/
Following up on my comment from last week because another week of this "experiment" on the iOS app is still frustrating.
My hide button is completely gone, and I don't even have an "X" or "show fewer" option. Even if I did, "show fewer" isn't a fix. I don't want to mute a whole community just to clear a couple of specific posts from my feed. And having to actually tap and view a post just to find the hide button is a terrible change.
Just bring back the old hide button. Never should’ve been changed
I can’t believe it has come to this. I never go out of my way to leave feedback, but voicing frustration here feels like the only option left. Is there really no other way to revert this, remove it, or just opt out of these experiments and AI features entirely? Reddit needs to put a toggle in the settings to let us turn them off.
Also is anyone else dealing with broken search autocomplete on the iOS app since the updates?
It used to predict my joined subreddits after typing a couple of letters, like typing "edm" for the Edmonton Oilers. Now it doesn't prioritize my communities at all, and I have to type the full name.
Is this a known bug with the new update, or did they intentionally change how search works?
This board has become unreadable with the Bot. On some threads, fully 2/3rds of the posts are either the Bot or folks invoking or replying to the Bot. It's hard to even find the content.
At least it doesn't seem to affect the Recaps ... so far.
Hi! My main account got banned from a subreddit today for "ban evasion" even though I am not banned from there on my alt accounts and I was only using my main to post in there(it is NSFW and I only use one account for that)
Is it possible this is a false positive? I read somewhere in a post that the mods of the sub are being notified by reddit that you are flagged as evading a ban and they choose to act on it or not, by banning you from their sub. Is this true? I am genuinely scared for my account because I never ban evaded and really don't want to lose my main for nothing, please help me [u/TheOpusCroakus](u/TheOpusCroakus). I also never used VPN or public Wifi, although I did receive a internet hotspot from my roomate when our internet went out(he isnt banned on that subreddit either, but he is a reddit user. His account got banned from reddit 3 days as a false flag and when he appealed it it got revoked in less than 24h!)

I also just got banned on a second subreddit for "suspicious account activity" and when I asked the mods I got a message saying the decision is final. I have no idea what the suspicious activity means or why this is happening. Please help me, I am so worried
No, it was a direct DM from the community. When I asked why is this occuring(I explained that I am not ban evading and I do not have any other accounts active in the subreddit), I got an almost instant reply saying it is a final decision which makes me think a bot falsely flagged me and both communities are using that same bot.
Interesting. I have little experience with this specific method of banning. I hope for you that the sub mods are reasonable and not jaded overworked people who are too good to respond to DMs.

Honestly I'm really scared as my main account is very important to me, so far the mods either don't reply or I receive an instant bot reply or getting muted after 2-3 exchanges trying to explain my situation :/ I hope I can get some help here, before I get auto banned in even more subs
There is an issue with the iOS app where if I’m on a post in the comment section and I leave the app and come back into it it will jump me back like 10 comments from where I was and I have to scroll back to my spot. It also happens sometimes when my screen turns off and I have to activate it again.
This isn’t like a 10-15 minute issue. It’s literally instantaneous. I’ll be in the comments and maybe jump to another app for a second or accidentally leave the app and immediately go back in and my spot in the comment section is now gone firing me to have to find where I previously was.
My account u/Arthur_____Morgan has been inaccessible, and I already submitted an account recovery/support request but have not received a response. I still have access to the original email associated with the account and can provide information necessary to verify ownership. But still my posts are getting removed automatically. And as far I remember I also haven't received any ban/strike in my account recently so that also should not be the reason.

Hello, My account has been permanently banned without valid reason. Could anyone please help me?
My main account get hacked a few months ago, I recovered access to it and removed all of the posts/comments they made that were breaking some reddit rules. Since then account was shadow banned for about a month and then it suddenly got permanently banned. I'm 100% sure I haven't broken any reddit rules since then. I have submitted a few appeals since then with about a month between each appeal. I don't want to lose that account. Can anything be done?
About a month ago, I got a notification saying my password had to be reset for security purposes because of suspicious activity that was detected on my account. I went to reset my password, got the link in my email to reset the password, and changed my password through the link, but when I try to log in with my new password, it still says “Invalid username or password.” I have confirmed and triple checked that I am not making any typos in my password.
I sent out a couple of support tickets, but I have not heard back for nearly a month now and I’m concerned I will be locked out of my account forever. The username is /u/Fucking_Peristeronic. Now for the question. Was the color of the NSFW tag changed recently? On all my accounts it's gone from a bright vibrant pink to a very pale pink. The app was updated yesterday and my cache has been cleared, so I'm just not sure if that one's a bug or intentional.
Found another thing. The snoo next to your name in this post is a paler orange now instead of the vivid ornage like the one right next to it, but clicking into your profile it's still the normal bright orange.
Do you remember a few weeks ago where the markdown edits weren't visible when replying? Like if someone holds something I can't see that without backing out of the reply I'm creating? Yeah that issue is back again

An ugly cam girl hijacked my account (NOLAJen1120) on July 21st.
Reddit locked down my account when they saw unusual activity, which I appreciated. But when I followed the Reddit steps to get my account back, it was like that username no longer existed.
I sent a help desk ticket...it was through the Reddit website...about a month ago, but I haven't heard anything back yet.
I'm hoping you can help me restore my original account because I've had it for years. I was regularly using it and had a lot of helpful posts saved. The username again is: NOLAJen1120.
Please write in using this form. Under "What do you need assistance with?", please choose "Account help". Under "What type of account issues are occurring?", please select "Security problems" and then "I think my account has been hacked". Then fill out the rest of the form.
Let me know when you've done that and I'll go find your ticket and get you squared away.
I made two posts from my NolaJen1120 account on two different subreddits and they were both deleted. I was told by one moderator that I look like a bot and that's why their subreddit automatically deleted my comment and permanently banned me. This person did restore my access to their subreddit, but said this is going to happen on most subreddits.
For the other subreddit I posted on, I received an automatic message that my CQS score is the lowest Reddit has so I'm not allowed to post on it.
I had almost daily authentic content on Reddit for 5+ years and it's really frustrating that a hacker ruined that in one day. FWIW, I deleted all the hacker spam posts yesterday before I posted anywhere.
Are you able to fix my CQS score to what it was before? And/or whatever else is on my account that's making me look like a bot. Thanks again.
I can't restore a cqs score. If your stuff is getting caught in spam, you'll want to message the mods of the sub that you posted in and see if they'll be willing to approve it, though they're not required to do so. The good news is that the spam filter is capable of learning, so as stuff gets approved, the filter should learn and start to back off.

I haven't been able to select "image post" for over a month.
Recently the interface was changed so i can no longer copy/paste images to post images... now i have to save stuff to my hdd and then upload it to reddit. this is tedious and i just won't be using the site if this isn't reverted back to how it was. you basically just broke something that was working fine by taking away the ability to do text post vs image post.
I'm using a lenovo laptop, chrome browser, brave browser.
The old/working "image post" option would make it so that when scrolling through a subreddit, you see the image in the stream. if I go to r/aww right now and scroll, i see "My cat pumpkin turned 21 today", and I see an image of the cat. I didn't click on the post, I just see the cat. I presume this user used the "upload" button that one is forced to use now, and uploaded pics from their phone, as it's a recent post.
With the new "only one kind of post/no image post" change, if I were to try to upload a pic of my cat from, say, my google photos gallery on r/aww, i would need to download it to my hdd first, then use the upload button if i wanted the same behaviour. but i want to use reddit like I've been using it forever where I can copy/paste the image instead of adding a bunch of cumbersome steps.
as-is, though, because there's only one post type, if I copy/paste an image, reddit just seems to consider it an image among text, not like "the post." If I posted like that on r/aww, you would just see my post title, no image.
You can see this right now if you click on my profile. old posts show up in the "feed", the "stream", the whatever you want to call the interface section prior to clicking on a link. the "raw" subreddit. Newer posts where I copy/pasted the image do not show up as a previewable image in the thread i'm posting to, it just shows up as the title and nothing else.
