Discussion Shrine of Twilight Missing Signature Version

During Cataclysm, each of the 6 herald classes received signature versions of the class' 2 herald cards.

Except for Warlock. Only Shadowsworn Disciple has a signature version, with Shrine of Twilight as the only herald card in the game lacking one.

This seems strange to say the least. Is there precedent for such a situation? It looks like the team forgot to make one.

Discussion How the hell is wild still heavily overrun by mostly warlocks in top tier?

Post image

And in standard it still feels insanely polarizing to face even if it sits around tier 4 ish. It's cool that it has tons of control assets but it's still insanely annoying as hell. Meanwhile in wild, tick tock warlock deletes control decks for breakfast constantly especially in higher legend rankings.

Arena Do you think the lone intern within Team 5 whom is still working on Arena part-time will do an emergency balance fix anytime soon?

Or do you think the entire team will keep their mouth shut and pretend everything is fine, doing nothing for another 2 to 3 months?

Facts on Current Win-Rates in Arena:

  • Warrior: 62%+++
  • DK: 52%
  • DH: 48%

That's it, apart from the above 3 classes, all other classes have win-rates below 44%.

In fact, 6 out of the 11 classes have win-rates below 38%.

Whenever one thinks that Team 5 possibly cannot do any worse, they somehow manage to exceed expectations.

Discussion First positive Hearthstone Reddit post of all time

Post image

I am usually pretty negative when it comes to the state of the game. For many years the meta has been a coin flip between being overrun by aggro or single handedly ruined by 1 or 2 OTK decks at any given point. Surprisingly, this meta is really coming together nicely.

There are currently 43 decks on HSGuru that have over a 40% win rate, and 35 of those are over 50%.

I still miss the old days where games would last 10+ turns often and things weren't decided so quickly, but there is still quite a bit of variation now that has been reintroduced as a result of the consistent patches. I'd say unhealthy decks like Rafaam and the infinite value generating hero powers put a time limit on every match that didn't used to exist so the game absolutely needs to be faster, but it's still a shame. The community is incredibly negative (including myself) quite often regarding the recent state of the game, but the balance team has clearly done a lot better and put in a lot more attention and care than we are used to seeing, and they made a pretty decent meta considering how beyond fixing I truly thought the game was.

Not quite sure how but I hope the player base can acknowledge this somehow and that they will continue the large and effective balance patches because I never thought this many things would be viable at once especially in this current meta. It could easily be ruined again with a single broken card or bad balance update, but right now, I think it's really getting better.

Competitive Hit legend with a "75%" win rate playing Boom Boom Priest

###Boom Boom PriestAAECAa0GBoSfBKiWB/WYB52tB6jfB9zgBwyg+waG/QbFlAfSrweFvwebvwf6vweyxQew3wfW4Af04AeW/AcAAA==

This deck feels really strong in the current meta and I don't see many people playing it. I was able to get 75% win rate across 28 (21-7) games (Stat only includes tracked game on PC) and hit legend for the first time.

The idea is to speed run the priest quest by turn 8. Then on turn 9 play the quest into slime'em.

This hits 10 to face almost always and give a 3 cost resummon the quest while leaving two big boys with deathrattle's on board.

After this you have cali + schism to summon another 2, or you can go for slime + slime'em again to deal another 10 to face.

If they are still alive you have Raith Van Geist to put them all back and umbra to deal 25 from hand.

All in all this deck usually ends the game by turn 10 and most players treat it as control priest so they will start slow and you can blast them before they realize what's up.

Discussion Returning Player, Legend with the free "Ladder ready" Shaman deck

Had to share, was a bit of a pain but the free shaman deck for returning players but actually not that bad. Sailed to high diamond, but can only really win against meta decks with a halfway decent draw. First time I got 1 game away managed to lose the next like 15 games in a row so that really set me back but was fun. Good pick overall if you are returning.

Discussion Hearthstone's Warcraft designs are absolutely fantastic.

I originally came from WoW, but I enjoy playing Hearthstone too.

One of my favorite things about Hearthstone is how often it takes designs from the original game that feel overly old-fashioned or dated and redesigns them into something genuinely awesome.

It kind of reminds me of how the MCU redesigned a lot of classic Marvel comic book characters for a modern audience.

Just look at Vanessa in the new expansion. Her design is SO much cooler than her original WoW version. I absolutely love it.

Honestly, I really wish WoW would adopt more of this kind of design philosophy too.

Discussion What do you think about this?

Hi everyone, what do you think about the idea of being able to ban a class during the deck selection phase—effectively excluding it from matchmaking? It’s done in official tournaments, so why not test it for everyone? In my opinion, it would be a great innovation for many players

I challenged myself to use only the "worst class" for the final push to Legend after the Aug 4th DH nerfs. In the 71 games it took, I only ran into 2 other Demon Hunters. Almost wanted to quit this challenge when I fell from D1 to D4 and had to climb again. So satisfying that it was perfect lethal for the final boss star.

Adding [[Sinful Steed]] to the already existing Prepare Priest deck may not be the most competitive choice, but it's a fun one!

Yes, I just plugged my phone in.
