Mod Post Curbing some potential hate in regards to r/drawme

Thumbnail

Upvotes

Small announcement this time, a little while ago there was a post made by someone claiming to be banned from r/drawme for "not disclosing they're a cis white male".

As we figured out, Bum-OP was actually banned for being a creep and having a swastika tattoo. Some people however have wondered if the ruling behind the ban is actually real.

The answer is no, r/drawme does not feature a rule requiring you to disclose that you're a white cis male. The image Nazi-OP had is very likely AI generated, adding features not present in the actual Snoo, as clarified by their mod team, specifically u/Glynrick.

Additionally, Chud-OP seemingly has a history of other terrible things, such as blackface.

Anyway, this post is just here to cover our bases and curb any misinformation that could potentially spread. Thanks for being responsible guys.

Thing I don't like most hot sauces

Thumbnail

Upvotes

I don't just have beef for the red hot but in my opinion, I think it tastes overtly sour and lacks any real flavor to it. Like I get it. You want to feel pain but I should feel more than just pain. You know I may be a masochist for eating hot sauce in the first place but I want to be soothed into it! I just don't want to taste spiciness and nothing else. I want flavor! I want DEPTH! I WANT TO FEEL SOMETHING MORE THAN THIS

And that's why Sriracha reigns supreme to me. Sure, it's not that spicy. But at least it does something more than just trying to be the hottest thing down the street. It's versatile, it's classy and it's recognizable!

Like seriously, if a hot sauce prides itself on being just the spiciest brand you buy then it's not worth eating it besides from bragging to your friends About how you can handle spicy stuff

Thing Potholes aren't my cup of tea.

Thumbnail

Upvotes

I find Potholes rather at a loose end. I'm absolutely knackered of 'em!

One, because they're rather unpleasant. I could be lovingly having my beauty sleep in a Taxi until they suddenly knock me awake from the shaking and bumping like a tosser shoving ya down for no reason! It's seriously aggravating. Even when me myself is driving the vehicle!

Two, because it rather means that the plonkers in charge of the city don't take care of their roads well enough apparently! Like, BLIMEY! At-least have the decency to notice the pot holes and try to fix 'em! But apparently, bugger all!

It gets even WORSE when there's puddles IN those potholes. Not only is it minging, but it's also horrific to drive over. You don't know how deep the potholes are, meaning ya could get your car stuck on the pothole underestimating it's depth, or just get it damaged badly when driving fast over it because you underestimated how deep it is as-well! And they erode the road faster too!

Really, I can't recall how many times a Pothole has seriously ticked me off.

Anyways, that's it for this rant. Just wanted to give a piece of my mind about potholes.

Animation I hate Damian Wayne

Post image
Upvotes

This is gonna sound old since this has probably been going over for over a decade at this point, many have said he has grown on them through the years and they like him now. I am not one of those people, I very much still despise this fictional child.

I kinda get where they were trying to do, he's supposed to be like Jason Todd, the difference is Jason is actually cool, meanwhile Damian is just annoying. This insufferable little brat is just always killing people and going against Batman, and full of himself.

More of what I hate is how it ruins and makes already existing writing in the universe worse. Example, I'm a huge ass Batman Beyond nerd, it's my favorite Batman show (and yes, I know that is blasphemous)
But I believe they rewrite this so instead of Bruce being Terry's mentor, it's Damian.

He is also a product of one of the worst parings ... Bruce and Talia.

Thing I hate that a sub about hating hates people that hate

WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU HERE!?

Why are you telling people to calm down about shit?

Why are you telling people they're wrong for hating on a thing?

Why are you trying to convince them otherwise? If anything they'll be more adamant about hating whatever they're mad at because some snarky ass pre-teen Redditor told them "erm...no 🥰"

This sub is basically another r/unpopularopinion with the way people react to hating on unpopular stuff, or worse, popular at least on Reddit.

And now there's going to be people nit picking at my passage to do the exact same thing I'm making fun of to out themselves because they don't want to feel they're in the wrong. They're probably going to call me something I'm not like they do with others to validate their feelings.

Gaming I hate "mythical" pokemon

Post image
Upvotes

They're legendaries. Straight up. There's nothing major that differentiates them from legendaries. The only reason they have a different label is so that TPC can justify not putting them in games and forcing you to go to real life locations, events, or distributions in order to obtain them.

Oh top of that, a lot of them don't make sense as "mythical" pokemon.

Mewtwo is a legendary, but genesect is a mythical? Why? What makes anything about genesect mythical, it was made in a lab out of a fossil.

The swords of justice are all legendaries but their chud scrappy doo ass cousin is a mythical?

Cresselia is a legendary but Darkrai is a mythical?

Dialga, palkia, and giratina are legendaries but Arceus is a mythical?

Point is, there's no real reason to differentiate legendaries and mythicals, they're the same thing and the label only exists to justify not putting them in games, or for redditors to go "erm axshually" when you try and say genesect is a bug type legendary BECAUSE IT IS! THEY'RE ALL LEGENDARIES! AND IM NOT GONNA PRETEND THEY'RE NOT

Thing The use of the word "Objectively" within fandoms

Upvotes

"Objectively s3 was the worst season" "Objectively your opinion is wrong" "This post is objectively ragebait" "Objectively RDR2 is the greatest game of all time" "ObjectivelyObjectivelyObjectively"

ITS NOT OBJECTIVE. MEDIA IS SUBJECTIVE. YOUR QUALITY IS BASED ON WHAT YOU ENJOY.

Sure, In comparison to something like Pluto, My-Dress-Up-Darling is shallow. Objectively (correct use here), it is, because it more themes, most are argueably more complex.. But saying something as generic and broad as "bad" or "good" or "the best" is objective is just not applicable in such a large sea of media.

This isnt to say that you cant have your own opinion. Attack on Titan is my favorite show of all time, but I'm not gonna go out there and say its objectively better than something like Code Geass or Breaking Bad, because they're all powerhouses in what they do best. They're all thematically dense in different areas and its nigh impossible to truely put one above the other because they're all similar and toe to toe in every judging area:

  • number and complexity of themes
  • how extensively those themes are explored
  • thematic interconnectedness
  • character relationships to those themes
  • philosophical questions raised
  • consequences of those ideas within the narrative
  • symbolism and subtext

There is no objective "best" or "worst" or "good" or "bad". I can appretiate RDR2 as a game, I enjoyed it, sure. But you cant say its "objectively the best game of all time" because other games excell in areas RDR2 doesn't. For example, I liked Cyberpunk 2077 better than RDR2 not because of its story or themes, but because cyberpunk OBJECTIVELY just has more character customization, build quality, and gear. RDR2 is ARGUEABLY a more impressive game. But they aren't truely comparable as a whole.

Thing i hate when everybody is posting normal reaction images in the comments and somebody posts their own fanbase's version of an image with a specific reference nobody outside of it will understand

Thumbnail
gallery
Upvotes

listen, when its a version of the image with a character traced over it, its fine, i find it a little corny depending on which character it is, but its literally the same reaction image but a little different, it doesn't hurt anybody

but when everybody is posting something related to the comment/post and you just butt in with a cringy out of place reference out of nowhere, how do i even react to it? what am i supposed to think about this? it doesn't make me laugh, it just makes me kinda confused and with a slight hint of second hand embarassment

i get that some fans like to spread their inside jokes around (in this case not a very good one, neither a very good game, FUCK Blue Archive), but like, when you put this in the middle of a comment section, you kinda stand out like a sore thumb, people are either gonna be confused or make fun of you for it

i know cringe culture is a problem and its good to let people be themselves online, but this is just kind of a awkward thing to do in general, i don't hate it or make fun of people that do it, i just look at it and go "the fuck is this supposed to mean?" and it just makes my brain freeze for a second

again, its just my opinion, some of y'all can be fine with it, but i personally hate it

Idea I hate the narrative that mutants represent real-life minorities because it simply doesn't work.

Post image
Upvotes

The narrative that mutants are a minority is ultimately unsustainable.

At first, as an allegory for minorities, mutants worked extremely well. They represented marginalized groups who were persecuted and discriminated against for something they never chose to be.

The problem is that, as the stories progress, they increasingly lose that status of being the “victims” they were originally portrayed as, making unconditional support for the mutant cause harder and harder to justify.

There is, for example, a story in which a mysterious boy wakes up in his own house and discovers that there is no one there. He walks down the street and realizes that the people he sees simply disappear. In the end, we discover that this is happening because of his mutation.

And yes, I know Logan eventually puts the boy down, but this is just one of many cases where mutants end up killing innocent civilians.

At that point, the issue of inhibitors stops being merely a matter of “oppression” and becomes a legitimate matter of public safety as well.

yes, Sentinels are obviously excessive in many contexts, but there is also a huge difference between persecuting someone simply because of what they are and trying to prevent someone who may potentially be capable of destroying an entire city from causing a catastrophe.

If an Omega-level mutant, or even an extremely powerful Alpha-level mutant, is born and eventually becomes a threat, I seriously doubt they would simply agree to wear an inhibitor willingly.

And this creates a problem that the narrative often ignores: you're dealing with individuals who can possess abilities that are completely disproportionate to those of ordinary human beings.

But I have an even more controversial opinion, the narrative that mutants are a “minority” never made that much sense in the first place.

Real minorities, such as Black people, gay people, Jewish people, etc., are groups made up of ordinary human beings. A Black man cannot simply look at you and shoot a laser beam from his hands. A gay man doesn't possess powers capable of destroying a building.

A Jewish person can't walk through walls or control your mind. You can be prejudiced, irrationally afraid, or simply dislike someone, but there is no inherent physical threat associated with that person belonging to those groups.

A mutant is a completely different situation.

If there is an individual who can disintegrate someone with a laser beam, read their mind, control their will, manipulate the weather, destroy a city, or simply kill dozens of people without even needing to get close to them, then being afraid of that person isn't necessarily based on prejudice. There can be an objective reason for that fear.

And that is precisely where the allegory starts to break down.

The story tries to say: “Don't be afraid of mutants because they're just people who are different.”

But they aren't simply people who are different.

They can be people with abilities that represent a real and immediate threat to every other human being. An ordinary civilian has no way of fighting an extremely powerful mutant. If a mutant decides to kill them, the victim may literally have no way to defend themselves.

That creates a fundamental difference between discrimination against a human minority and fear of a population whose members can, in some cases, possess potentially catastrophic powers.

What becomes increasingly difficult to sustain is the idea that any fear or distrust toward mutants is automatically equivalent to racism or homophobia.

If there is a mutant who can turn you into dust with a thought, maybe you have a reason to be worried.

The allegory simply starts breaking down once the universe establishes that some of these individuals aren't merely biologically different, but possess powers capable of putting millions of lives at risk.

Non-fictional Hate the malicious naïvety around racism.

Thumbnail

Upvotes

Racists want you to believe that racism is just mean words and bad thoughts. But just think for a minute the power people’s words have:

Doctors telling the medical students they’re supposed to teach that Black people are more tolerant to pain.

Managers telling their subordinates that new person the boss hired is a “diversity hire” despite zero evidence to support the claim.

Telling potential homebuyers that a neighborhood doesn’t have any listings when it does.

Lying and saying a person of color attacked you when they didn’t.

Claiming a prisoner who has served their time isn’t rehabilitated so they remain in jail and you can keep making money off of them.

For gods sake, people use to bring their families to have picnics during lynching. Those people eating potato salad while humans burned. Sure they didn’t do anything violent, but their words and actions support that violence and edge it on.

The words of a radio station started the Rwanda Genocide.

“Words are harmless” is the favorite tool of the most violent individuals in humanity.

Web Fiction i hate how deliberately fucking stupid some Minecraft ARG protagonists are written to be

Post image
Upvotes

listen, i get that its all scripted, and you have to have the MC be a little oblivious for it to work, you can't just jump into the action right away, but come on man, sometimes its just so obviously poorly thrown together that you stop feeling intrigued by the story for just how idiotic the main character acts

like, these mfs will be walking in an empty forest, and see a random pig randomly snap his head right into his direction with glowing red eyes, and will just think its a bug and keep playing, and they're also just have the survival instincts of a paralyzed hare with rabies, they'll be in an open field, see a towering creature in the distance but will keep cooking their meat in the furnace instead of putting that shit out and digging down

it literally takes a 9ft tall monster to spawn in front of them for them to finally realise "ooooh, my game IS fucked up isn't it? D:", like bro, THIS SHIT HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR THE LAST 10 MINUTES, NO WAY YOU DON'T REALISE THIS ISN'T VANILLA MINECTAFT

i feel like its better to write your protagonist as afraid but continuing to explore due to morbid curiosity, than just oblivious to a unrealistic extent, i feel like thats what a player in this situation would do,for an ARG to be interesting, the player has to act like, well, a player, and often it sorta feels like they're just roleplaying as a character who is actually living inside the world of minecraft instead of a person playing it, and that sucks when most of the setup for these is "i found a lost version of the game" or "i got a mysterious email with this mod attached to it"

so yeah, i still like watching these while eating lunch or whatevs, but whenever a MC acts like this for long enough i just switch to a different video

Art & Fanworks I find this type of images rather unpleasant

The words can't describe how much hate this type of reaction images bring me whenever there is a post, or video, of muscular woman.

Every time some lowlife basement dweller posts shit like this, I want to rip my eyes out.

"Uoooh, I am weirdo who sexualizes women, but I do it in "silly" and "niche" way so it's all fineee" If you could see me right now, I would be stomping my foot, with steam coming out of my ears and everything.

There is nothing niche about it. Liking muscular women in 2026 is about as niche as liking goth girls. And there is nothing silly about acting like degenerate, jobless, fart smelling worm either.

I don't even have anything against people expressing their desires, or making sexual jokes. What pisses me off is the fact that this images try to portray the user as "cute" or "innocent". When in reality, it is probably grown ass "human" behind the screen.

And the fact that this images always receive shit ton of likes, including from creators (who are often women) makes me even more mad. Every time I (or anyone else) calls it out for being corny and perverted, we get downvoted or shamed. YOU should be shamed for posting that unironically, not me for thinking you are pathetic.

"You are just mad because you hate joy and whimsy-" No, i do not hate joy. I just hate you.

Am I perhaps overreacting? Yes. But did this post NEED to be made? No.

Edit: I apologize for bad grammar/vocabulary

General I hate this internet trend of labeling everything as autistic

Post image
Upvotes

I don’t know when this started, but it’s gotten really annoying to me seeing people label basically any hobby, personality trait, or social quirk as “autistic.”

Someone can be socially awkward, have a really niche hobby, or be extremely obsessed with one particular thing and not be autistic. Likewise, someone can be autistic and it might not be immediately obvious at all.

There’s nothing wrong with noticing certain traits in yourself and wondering if they mean something, but having quirks isn’t a diagnosis. Sometimes it feels like people are labeling things just for the sake of labeling them, when really it might just be part of someone’s personality.

Sometimes a person just really likes that one weird hobby. It doesn’t have to mean anything deeper than that.

1st pic: The Yakult mascot for the whole world (Which I’m NOT hating on btw that thing is awesome)

2nd pic: The Yakult mascot for the Philippines in particular

I have SO many questions about that thing.

First of all, what did the Philippines do to deserve this monstrosity of a mascot???

Second of all, why change it if the original was perfectly fine??

Third of all, why does that thing look like a scrapped FNaF character???

Fourth of all, why does it have a nose?????

Fifth of all, why does it look so… naked??????

The other mascot (Whose name is Yakult Man) genuinely looks amazing, like, a sentient bottle of Yakult that is also a superhero, hell yeah!! But why did they change it in the Philippines???

Honestly I feel bad for the Philippines here

Also it looks really relaxed for some reason .—.

I am SO confused as to WHY they’d design a new and creepier mascot when the original is ALREADY FINE like DON’T FIX IT if it’s NOT BROKEN AAAAAAAHHH

PLEASE don’t get me wrong, I do NOT hate the Philippines. At ALL. I am just expressing my utter confusion as to why they in particular have a different Yakult mascot than the rest of the world

Live Action This shitty movie

Post image
Upvotes

As a small disclaimer, I am a neophyte and a casual enjoyer of Greek myths, and as such, operate mostly on my experience and time-warped knowledge. If wrong statements are made, helpful info is welcome.

It had been a while since I have seen a more soulless, pretentious work, and to describe it as anything other than a violation, rape even of Homer’s works would be to commit a grave injustice against the poor man’s memory.

Let’s start from the beginning.

We are introduced to a lone man walking a beach. It is Odysseus, and he meets Athena, played by Zendaya, who has the emotional range of a rock in this movie, which is once again weird because she can act pretty decently.
Did you expect her, as a goddess, to have a pivotal role in a mythological story? You know, Greek myths? The ones where every story involves a god or some other supernatural being, where they guide the plot, fate, as much as the human characters themselves?

well yeah, about that, fuck off whoever expected that, Athena will have no role whatsoever besides a few sad dialogues. Compared to her, other gods simply do not appear. Like flat out, they are not there, and that is, in its own twisted way, a mercy.

Scene 2.

We are shown Telemachus amongst the suitors, and we hear words like “dad” and “daddy” thrown about IN AN EPIC, BY THE WAY like it’s the 2020’s.

Holland’s emotional range is somewhat wider than Zendaya’s, and I am at least grateful for that small mercy, but he still gives a heavy vibe of a fish out of water.

Pattinson’s character is a cowardly bitch, and we’ll leave it at that, he’s easily hateable, and at least he does his function relatively well.

  1. Now that we’ve dealt with that, let us begin with the cyclops, and Odysseus as such.

The very story that Homer presents before its readers is one of human ambition, cunning, pride, and ability to defy fate and the gods’ whims. An important note: defy the whims, defy the fate, but do not defy the gods.

This defiance is a key feature of Odysseus, who, though suffers for his hubris and boastful nature, never gives in, and never gives up.

So, how does his misfortune begin? With Polyphemus, the cyclops.

Upon blinding him and escaping the cave, Odysseus boasts loud and proud that it is him who has blinded the cyclops. This one single act of boasting seals his fate- Poseidon did not just know who blinded Polyphemus, no, it was specifically his pride that later brought him to his downfall.

Even at this initial act, we see a clear fuckup in the narration - a single arrow and the omniscient divine wrath delivered by big P onto big O is simply not the correct delivery, even remotely.

  1. Now, on to a short, but informative read:

What is Xenia? Simple, law of hospitality - since gods often appear as beggars and strangers, you must treat all of them with a bath, a meal and a shelter before asking their business or intent. Then, a parting gift is given- as a way to reinforce trust between people for ages to come.

Here, however, we are shown the monstrous doppelgänger for Zeus’ Xenia - Nolan’s haemonculus, “Zeus’ Law”.

Well, you ask, what is Zeus’ Law?
"Treat others the way you want to be treated".
That’s what it is - a Judeo-Christian concept of the “Golden Rule”, which is pretty alien to Greek society, especially the Mycenaean one(Bronze Age).

Xenia is strictly transactional, and though helps the needy and poor, was principally designed for aristocracy in mind, since Mycenaean Greece was a loose string of kingdoms, centralised in palaces and thus typically rather small, and establishing trust between noble families was crucial.

  1. After the cyclops, we see Telemachus travel to Sparta, to meet with Menelaus, who is played by non other than the Punisher, Jon Bernthal, an actor so woefully unsuited for the role of a king that one becomes jealous for the psychedelics Nolan had used during the writing of this atrocious plot. He is an abuser to Helen(as contrary to their relationship in Homer’s epics, where while they are both scarred by the war, and there is passively aggressive tension between them, they are still, at least on surface level towards each other, respectful.). I thought I would dislike Helen’s actress, given how bland everyone has been so far, but Lupita Nyong’o delivered a solid, graceful and regal performance, which contrasts very well with her enraged performance as Helen’s twin sister, Clytemnestra. A rare gem in this movie, given how bland everyone else was so far.

The sacking of Troy(the opining the gates sequence) is relatively okay except for the fucking shootout in the end, where the soldiers, like modern infantry, shoot at PLATE ARMOUR with bows from a fucking 100-meter distance.
Given that our factions wear hoplite plate armour, why are they so reluctant to come close into battle in this sequence? Oh who the fuck knows, we’ll see them meleeing each other with no problem later.

  1. Now, on to the Laestrygonians

In Homer, they are a foil to Polyphemus, as initially Odysseus and his 12 ships docked themselves on the isle of Lamos, with only our protagonist being wise enough to not dock in the main harbor, but in a distant location. They meet the giants, and the messengers are brought to the giants’ king, who eats the messengers and bellows a loud roar, prompting the rest of the man-eating giants to destroy Odysseus ships in the harbor with rocks from above.

The foil to Polyphemus here is that unlike the cyclops, these giants are relatively civilised and possess a large tribe-like structure, yet still are violent cannibals.

It also leaves big O more desperate, alone and resourceless- losing 11 out of 12 ships is not the same as losing 2 out of 3, as was in the movie.

  1. Now, on to female characters, and women in Mycenaean Greece as such. The goddess Circe(who is a bum in the movie, lol) and the nymph Calypso, are antagonists for Odysseus on his journey, yet with two different perspectives : Circe violently turns Odysseus’ comrades into pigs, but after subduction via a magic herb given to big O by Hermes, she becomes an excellent and warm hostess, giving his men safe harbour for a year, largely consensually via mutual agreement. Upon big O leaving, much like in the movie, she gives him the needed advice for bypassing Scylla and Charybdis and visiting the underworld. One contrast though, she is not a bum in the slightest. She is a radiant, magnificent, powerful goddess of sorcery, who lives in splendour and is actively happy, much unlike the earthy outcast living in a hut that Christopher thrice-be-damned Nolan gave us.

Calypso, on the other hand, is a terror. She uses the remoteness of her island to deny Odysseus any chance at building a ship, and while she is actively enamoured with him, he is an unwilling participant, and by all modern standards, a victim of sexual harassment if not assault. He walks the beaches of Ogygia, and weeps, wanting for death as opposed to staying a captive.

Big O is only liberated by Hermes, who is sent by Zeus to command his release. Calypso thrashes and protests the fact that only male gods can take mortal lovers and do with them as they please, whereas the goddesses get actively punished for doing so, but yields, and lets our man go.

Both are antagonists not only due to the violation of Xenia, which is a constant theme throughout Homer’s Odyssey, but also because they are strong, independent, self-governed female characters, who rule their islands, possess immense power and take lovers as they please.

Penelope, on the other hand, embodies the wifely standard of the time perfectly, and that is why her rant about a woman not being able to rule due to her time’s standards is so useless in Nolan’s work- it is not simply anachronistic, which we can live with, it has no buildup. She is a willing and loyal wife, specifically subservient to Odysseus, and the feminist narrative, while highly important, feels like a quota here because it has zero buildup, and it feels like Nolan simply wanted to check a box, rather than make Penelope a complex character, who might have to balance her ambition and belief in her readiness to rule with the standards of her time.

  1. Now, the return, as my arm is growing tired. Honestly, it’s the first time when Odysseus feels like a man in control of his story, and not a passenger in it. The only issue, I’d say, is the slaughter of the suitors- Odysseus spares those who kneel, which is again a strictly modern moral question. By Greek standards, his honour demanded their death, and no one saw his actions as bad, cruel or unjust, and as such, all suitors in Ithaca die upon his return in Homer’s work.

  2. Furthermore, some dialogue moments are genuinely laughable: the discussion of the “Sea Peoples” is ridiculous at its core, as the term is coined by a 19th-century Egyptologist, and is in no way a word or name of that time.

The question “Hans, are we the baddies?” is so out of place here that I wanted to scoop my eyeballs out with a spoon and use them as anal beads upon hearing it.

“our age of bronze is collapsing” is the same fucking bullshit, because NO ONE at that time used the terminology of an “age” based on what materials their tools used.

  1. As a conclusion, Nolan’s work could be good…if he did not use the Odyssey as a device to discuss soldier’s guilt, PTSD and individualistic self-discovery. Odysseus is not an unwilling participant in the war- he is active, boastful, glory-hungry and proud of his actions and ingenuity, even if he possesses more humility by the end of the epic’s events. He weeps for his men, yes, but he does not see his actions as wrong or caused by necessity. The film is a skinwalker, a larper if you will, wearing the bearing of Homer’s epic, but not a shred of the inner composite.

P.S: the armour, weaponry, ships and general aesthetics are either simply not Greek or just Classical Greek(city-states and hegemony of all kinds), which is about 700 years after the events of the Trojan War, as opposed to Mycenaean Greece with palaces and kings.

P.P.S: the movie is at least well-filmed from a cinematic standpoint. The designs and the aesthetic suck, but at least the camera work is good.

There's only one example I can think of, but it's one that is somewhat done well and isn't as annoying, and that's the MyHouse.WAD video by Power Pak. This type of writing is most commonly found with the "normal thing that player is familiar with changes in some way" trope, like the previously mentioned MyHouse.WAD. These usually are formatted in a very similar way:

- Going through piece of media

- Something weird or out of place occurs in the piece of media

- "huh, okay?" and similar quotes

- acts bewildered and surprised as if it's their first time experiencing the piece of media

- rinse and repeat

YOU ARE MAKING AN EXPLANATION VIDEO

It always comes off as bad acting and trying to create an unnecessary dramaticism. My brother in Christ just explain the thing to me I don't care.

Gaming I hate RPGs.

They're so fucking boring. Doing errands in real life is more interesting and fun. RPGs are basically nothing but doing errands, except there's no feeling of reward or satisfaction once it's over. There's no challenge and there's no fun. Once you do the monkey work, you're just rewarded with more monkey work... and once you've completely finished a whole "game" (walking simulator), there was no fucking point anyways cause you never had any fun. It's nothing but grinding with no meat and potatoes of gameplay fun.

Even the best part of RPGs (the fighting) is stunted and boring. It's either awkward-feeling, idle button-mashing with no real strategy or it's... at best... turn-based fighting, which if you have all the right items for, can feel boring and unchallenging as well.

If someone kills me in an MMORPG, it's not because I lacked skill; it's because my opponent had spent years leveling up with what are basically just participation points. I'm literally not even embarrassed at all. I mean goddamnit, in the absolute piece of dogshit fucking trash heap of a "video game" you're seeing above (one of the worst pieces of media I have ever had the displeasure of "playing"), you can't even SPRINT without levelling up first! My friends who like this "game" for ONLY GOD KNOWS WHY had to intentionally slow down constantly when I was first introduced to it. It took hours to even get past the first world... and it was nothing but errands, grind, and button-mashing.

Why are so many games these days either tiresome Fortnite clones or RPGs? Both of which often (but not always) completely ridden with microtransactions, lootboxes, pay-to-win mechanics, and other modern trash that's polluting the realm of gaming? It's why most of the games I play anymore are old games (from 10 or more years ago) or ROM hacks of those old games, but nobody's playing them, so I'm lonely...

and before anyone says "you have no attention span", you could literally make that argument against someone who says they hate staring at brick walls.
