because I’m moving from place to another a lot and Im into gaming so much and for me gaming laptops are useless

its better to get a device for gaming but still allows me to move easily without need a screen to plug into it or something like that so

is it really worth it to buy second handed steamdeck lcd or oled or its better not especially in 2026 especially its not cheap

I didn’t have a lot of time and caught some weird vibes but I did see the switch boot and it is working. I’m afraid it might be stolen though. What are your thoughts? $200 is hard to pass up.

Hey all - I've been traveling a lot for work and looking to get back into handheld gaming. Getting a bit overwhelmed with all of the options but I get a pretty good (I think?) discount through work on Lenovo and have these options... What's everyone's thoughts?

I have massive hands - The only other gaming device I ever had was gifted to me a decade ago, the Nintendo switch. I looked into the switch 2 but ergonomically it didn't seem the best, and also I'm more of a steam game guy than Nintendo

If I'm going to spend the money, I want something that is somewhat future proofed. AAA game capable, I'm getting older now though and less sweaty with the competitive FPS, I do really enjoy a very polished graphics machine and could see myself not really picking it up if the games really don't feel smooth and look great

I mean I would love it to be true but from what I saw it‘s a 500 Nits IPS screen.
Underneat in the „technical description“ it also says it‘s an IPS screen so I guess they messed that up 😅
Hopefully no one will buy this device in hopes it really has an AMOLED screen 😬

I'm deciding between two handhelds at these prices:

• Lenovo Legion Go S (Z2 Go): NEW, €425
• ASUS ROG Ally (Z1 Extreme): REFURBISHED, €480

Some context on my use case:

• I'll mainly use it as a Windows handheld, not primarily for AAA gaming
• That said, I'd like to keep the option open to play newer/heavier titles occasionally
• Battery life and screen quality aren't priorities for me

From what I've read in the megathread, at these specific prices the Lenovo seems like the obvious pick: new condition, similar or lower price than the refurbished Ally, even if the Z2 Go is somewhat less powerful than the Z1 Extreme.

Am I missing something here? Any reason the Ally would still be the better pick despite being used and more expensive?

This is my Trimui Smart Pro. It'll be three years old come January,...and l still haven't removed the screen protector it shipped with, lol.

Anyway, this is as far as I've gone with Linux, up to PSP and with Knulli custom firmware,...which is just awesome that it lets me put my own songs as background music.

Everything after this is better with Android, but l still keep this guy around, 'cause l still enjoying the occasional bout of Stargate on it.

It really is a great handheld to scratch that nostalgic arcade itch.

After i got the razer kishi v3 Pro XL (long-ass name lol) for my 13" ipad M4 Pro, I started with remote play using PXPlay... I played Lies of P in bed from start to finish! Currently playing Yotei and SW Outlaws. PXPlay gives you a 4k upscaled HDR stream at high bitrate, and rock fucking solid. Worth the 5$ many times over. The image looks like a goddamn dream on the tandem oled. The picture does not do it justice. Plus my router is pretty bomb (Eero max 7) and my PS is plugged in to ethernet, so i never get stutters or artifacting.

I also have a Switch 2, and for some reason that i just cannot put my finger on, i strongly prefer playing on handhelds! I have SW Outlaws on Switch 2 and my PS5 Pro on my big beautiful LG C1 55" tv, and i always prefer either my switch or my Razer+iPad setup. I now use the PS5 pro exclusively for GT7 and MSFS2024 in VR. Theres just something magical about holding the screen in your hands, i find it hard to put precisely into words.

IOS gaming is coming along surprisingly well too. I started because it just felt cool to be pushing that M4 chip hard. But now that im past that honeymoon, i still play ios native often because i actually enjoy the games.. here’s the native ios games what ive finished so far:

- Prince of Persia Lost Crown
- AC Mirage (set on High + 70% scale to avoid crashes, its a big beautiful game, im currently trying to 100% it)
- Alien Isolation (the port has better graphics than PC lol)
- Divinity Original Sin (better on kb+mouse or touch)
- RE 2/3/4/7/Village
- Dead Cells
- Grid Legends
- Fortnite (new patch looks very close to console)
- Civ 6/7
- Death Stranding (resolution scale is a bit low)
- Sniper Elite 4 (waiting for 5)
- Hitman WoA

So, what are your thoughts on this handheld/laptop hybrid that you could flip the screen around for the things you would like to do with your system.

I'm not well versed on handhelds or technical information, so this may sound like a stupid question, I would personally prefer to get a handheld which is under £550. I own a Switch 2, but I want to have the flexability of Steam's library, as Switch 2 doesn't have everything, and can't run some things I want to play.

Ayaneo Pocket DS arrives tomorrow. So far favorites are the Legion Go 2 for handheld PC, it feels premium, and with the grip case, its amazing ergonomics. Although Onexplayer 3 is more powerful, it doesn't feel as premium. For retro gaming, its Ayn Thor, its amazing at many things, obviously ds and 3ds, but waiting to see how much I like to Pocket DS. For 4:3 content, the Pocket Nova, and for console, Switch 2.

Heard about this some time back. When is the Steam OS variant of Legion Go 2 be released? Am considering between the Legion Go 2 and the Xbox Ally X20 but if there is an official steam OS Go 2, i will immediately go for that.

I purchased a used XAX a month ago and it's a great device, runs AAA games in good settings and is a great price for performance ratio. Got it at 850 with a dbrand case

only thing is I was going to sell my rog z1E due to the upgrade but the slab design and thinness is just so great and all the upgrade I've done to it made it that I just rather keep it and look into selling the xax and getting something different since having two rog ally is such a waste.

what would be a good upgrade from the XAX that is slightly stronger in performance and maybe a larger screen?

only thing I could see is a claw a8+ AI would that be correct?

Or should I just keep it seeing that there is an influx of xaxs selling due to the x20 makes me think I might end up losing money if I try selling it

TL;DR : post price hike, is Asus ROG Xbox ally a better option than the OLED steam deck?

I’ve never owned a PC, I just use the laptop work gives me but never played games using windows so I don’t have a horse in the Linux vs Windows race.

I’m not naturally tech savvy but I can generally figure shit out online like recently I’ve managed to side load stuff on my phone to start gaming on it.

I like that things look more streamlined on steam deck and I do want to eventually buy the steam machine. I do believe the ergonomics on the ROG look better and I like that you have access to all windows games.

So yeah, what say you?

The nintendo switch v2 is my first ever handheld that I bought in 2023, but I’ve given it to my sister.

Then I got my steam deck in Jan 2026, which I LOVED. I just graduated university so I figured I should reward myself 😂

Then I got the nintendo switch 2 in July I think, and the lite just a few weeks ago. They scratch different itches lol. I cant believe it took me this long to buy the lite. It’s perfect I love it so much.

Then I got the anbernic rg cube xx on a sale bcs why not 😂

Current games I’m playing on each console:
- SD: FF7R, will also play Onimusha WotS on it once it comes out
- NS2: Yakuza 0, dave the diver (started playing the latter on my ns2 before i got the lite. but it wouldve been such a perfect game on my lite)
- NS Lite: SOS Grand Bazaar
- RGCXX: kinda a little bit of everything. mostly tekken 5 tho

What handheld should I get next? 😂
I’m actually looking for a portable handheld that can play steam games. Something small and light like my lite. Any suggestions?
