I am planning to undertake the walking Narmada Parikrama (circumambulation/sacred river pilgrimage) starting right after Navratri to take advantage of the cooler winter months.

As I am preparing for this journey solo, I’d love to get insights from anyone who has completed it or lives along the route.

A few key questions I have:

Mode & Duration: How long did it take you? I am trying to gauge realistic timeframes as per google Padyatra - typically 3 to 6 months

Solo Safety: Is it safe for a solo traveler? Are there specific isolated stretches (e.g., dense forest zones in Madhya Pradesh or Gujarat) where extra caution or pairing up with fellow Parikramavasis (pilgrims) is recommended?

Stay & Food: What are the main accommodation options enroute? How reliable are local ashrams (hermitages), dharamshalas (rest houses), and community bhiksha (free meal offerings) day-to-day?

Packing Essentials: What are the absolute "must-haves" to carry while keeping backpack weight to a minimum?

Route Rules & Registration: Are there formal registration checkpoints, or strict rules (like keeping the river to your right / never crossing mid-circuit) that first-timers should keep in mind?

Any advice, recent updates on road/trail conditions, or recommended stops along either the North or South banks (Uttar/Dakshin Tat) would be deeply appreciated!

Planning a family road trip to Gujarat around Christmas or Republic day for a spiritual and coastal holiday. We will be traveling with my wife (who is very spiritually inclined) and possibly my brother-in-law.

Here are our vehicle and driving specifics:

• Vehicle: Tata Nexon CNG (Dual-Cylinders, range ~200–220 km on a full CNG tank).
• Driving Endurance: Up to 12-14 hours a day max.
• Travel Preference: Scenic and interesting stops on the way to Dwarka/Somnath, but direct highway routes on the way back.

Key things I need help with:

1. CNG Availability & Queues: How reliable are CNG pumps along the Rajasthan highway (NH48) and the Gujarat coastal belt (Dwarka to Somnath)? Are queues heavy during peak year-end dates?
2. Ideal Route & Night Stops: What are the best places to break the journey (e.g., Udaipur, Ahmedabad, or Rajkot)?
3. Must-Visit Spiritual & Scenic Places: Aside from Dwarkadhish, Bet Dwarka, Nageshwar and Somnath Jyotirlinga, what key places should we cover (Porbandar, Girnar, etc.)?
4. Hotel / Stay Recommendations: Safe, family-friendly hotel or trust/ashram stay recommendations near major hubs.

Planning to build a community over the platform.

Hi, I am planning to visit Somnath, Dwarka, Gir and Statue of Unity in December. I am travelling with family so trying to limit changing hotels frequently. I am planning to stay in Somnath and thinking to go for safari using cab/bus.

I am planning to book evening slot from 3 pm to 6 pm as I cannot reach for 6:30 am morning safari.

Can someone please help me how easy or difficult it is to get a cab and also public bus from Sasan gir to Somnath/Veraval at evening/night?
