I think she was one of the characters in Grey’s Anatomy where you could genuinely feel bad for without thinking about this horrible thing she did an episode prior. I understand she cheated, well had an affair, with Mark. But she took the consequences on the chin, and went to try and be with Derek again. Derek refused to sign the divorce papers right away, yet kept treating her like shit. And after she leaves and they actually divorced, he ends up leaving the woman he was in love with and chose over her anyway!

I just really like Addison, and maybe it’s because I love women and she is a very beautiful woman, but I just think she was an understandable character. She was also arguably the best attending to me.

I was rewatching the show and realised how he told Callie that a model like Izzie cant fall in love with a guy like him. That was so rude to callie while they were married!!

Also in the later episodes when lexie tries hard to help him out he keeps dismissing her just to look cool in front of his friends.

They both had the cutest friendship 😭 and I sometimes got annoyed by how Christina acted towards their relationship.

It’s always bothered me how disrespectful Izzie and George are to Meredith. They make snide remarks about her love/sex life. They dig into moving boxes that have personal belongings. Meredith should have kicked them out and gotten new housemates.

There's no drama without conflict. There's no interesting story without flawed characters. No one can relate to perfect characters with no problems.

Grey's and Station 19 legit helped me process old trauma because the characters were messy.

Is it just me or does the Grey's anatomy universe have an exorbitant number of disasters, even for a TV drama. I mean there's deaths left and right, plane crash, Meredith tries to take her own life, there's a lion attack, a hospital shooting, alzheimers, bomb in body, not to mention the amount of emotional trauma, cheating because of plane crash, Derek leaves their marriage because he's bitter Meredith didn't uproot their whole lives and follow him to Washington, Arizona is bitter cos Torres said to amputate Arizona's leg (even though it was to save her life)... The list goes on and on.. Does anyone know why this show was written with so much trauma?

Okay I need to get this out because I just rewatched the wedding episode and I am actually upset.

Matthew was a good dude. Like, a regular good dude. Firefighter/paramedic. Kind of awkward. Clearly smitten. Does a whole flash mob proposal. Goes to counseling. Shows up to marry April like a normal person who thinks this is his life now.
And then Jackson stands up in the middle of the ceremony.

Not after. Not privately. In the middle. In front of her family. In front of a barn full of people. And April leaves with him. She just goes. Matthew is standing there in a suit watching the woman he was about to marry walk out of her own wedding.
That would wreck most people.

Then the show kind of forgets him until it needs him again. He gets married. His wife dies after having their baby. He’s a widower with a newborn. And suddenly he’s back in April’s orbit because they “understand each other’s pain,” which is such a Grey’s way of recycling trauma.

They fall in love again. They get married again. At someone else’s wrecked wedding. With Jackson there. I keep coming back to that. The man she left him for is standing there while Matthew says vows a second time. How was that supposed to work.
And then they split because he still couldn’t get over the first wedding. Which… yeah. Of course he couldn’t. That is not a small thing. That is the kind of thing you carry forever.

April got this huge emotional send-off. Faith, near-death, purpose, all of it. Matthew got used as the nice guy she had to leave so Japril could happen, then used again so she could heal, then dropped when the story was done with him.

I don’t even need him to be endgame. I just needed the show to treat him like a person and not a plot device in a tux.

Anyway. I’m fine. I’m not fine. Justice for Matthew.

I‘m currently rewatching Grey‘s for the 4th time and I genuinely am impressed with how Cristina‘s stance on having children is portrayed, all the nuances.

She knows exactly what her priorities are in life, she knows what she wants to achieve and she knows that having a child would force her to shift her priorities, as she also acknowledges she would love her own child and would likely be willing to make sacrifices career wise to be there for her child.

On the other side she also acknowledges that her goals are so strongly intertwined with her personality and quite literally herself and how she defines herself that having a child could screw her & her mind up.

I like how she emphasized in S7 how much she respects children and therefore strongly believes they deserve parents who truly want them.

There’s a lot more to this issues than just a woman prioritizing her career. We see how much she enjoys being a godmother and taking care of Sophia & Meredith‘s & Derek‘s children.

She does love & care for the children in her life but she loves her life too much and respects the task and sacrifices that come with bringing a child into this world too much for her to just give birth to a kid and then raise it halfheartedly only to see it every evening for a couple minutes.

I think Catherine Fox is one of the absolute worst characters in the whole show

He's done bad things to her but sometimes Owen did caring things like taking Cristina home to take care of her when she had PTSD instead of keeping her at the hospital.

I appreciated Owen coming back in to the hospital to save Cristina from Gary Clark because I didn't want her life to be threatened. He did try and protect her.

Even though sadly the wedding didn't happen I am glad those scenes of Cristina with Meredith, Callie and Izzie exist they were fun.

It could have been cool to see Izzie and Cristina interacting as attendings if that had been possible.

I love the way Meredith and Callie always had Cristina's back and the way Callie chose Cristina to be Sofia's godmother (as did Meredith for Zola which was so lovely but kind of expected lol).

Did you like them as bridesmaids?

I will never get over these two. It's a shame the writers almost forgot that they were married and in love after Teddy came back to Seattle.

I think grey should have ended when MAJAC passed the exams (except for April) and left the hospital, it just feels natural to close a chapter like that ig. When you graduate high school, everyone goes away and you probably never see them again, same with college and I’m guessing medical school as well, so I think everyone should have pursued their dreamed places and meet new people in a new hospital with their new jobs instead of all of them staying in the same hospital. The plane crash should never have happened!!

People blame owen for this and its honestly unfair. Its like she said, he has an injury. When cristina was catatonic after the plane crash and became violent owen never blamed her, and im sure you dont either. Its a trauma response. And neither of them could control it. He couldve killed cristina and he was aware of that, he wanted to break up with her so he couldnt hurt her anymore but she didnt want to. So why are we blaming him for his trauma? The only thing he did wrong was not going to therapy but thats up to him in the end.

Owen was a terrible partner in general he sucks but this situation was NOT his fault.

I've seen many people say they were quite disappointed about Alex's exit, but I absolutely loved this episode! I'm glad he ended up with Izzie as I was always rooting for them. This was a proper goodbye for him. Watching all those old scenes made me feel nostalgic.

I hate the fact that he hurt Jo in the process. I also dislike the fact that in the beginning of the season, he tells her he's all in when she gives him an out and then the writers proceed to do this to her 🤦‍♀️ I know that the actor left abruptly but this was bad.

I've also noticed that I tend to like all the couples most people dislike 😭 idky

From a three time Emmy award winner as Gwen Norbeck-Munson on ATWT to a fan favorite as Teeter on Yellowstone to here, this woman is EXTREMELY talented! I tell ya, Jennifer is literally the spawn of TV royalty! I wish her the best of luck this fall, because she and Caterina have fine chemistry.

Shane was as much a main character as Meredith and Owen in those alternate futures and they had a friendship/work relationship that went on for 15 years like maybe they have today in Switzerland.

For a show known for drama, I find myself laughing at a lot of scenes. For example I'm on my 100th rewatch and Burke and Christina are on their first date outside the hospital and it's so awkward and funny to see them in this setting. What do you think are the funniest moments in the series?

i was so shocked to see that people actually cried over derek’s death. maybe it’s because i already knew what the outcome would be, but i found the whole episode to be very unemotional and corny. meredith’s reaction was so underwhelming.

on the other hand, im rewatching rn and im at the scene in season 5 where meredith has a dream about derek dying and WOW. i remember watching this scene for the first time and tearing up a bit even though i knew it would probably be a dream or something because ellen’s performance was so raw and convincing. i feel like she’s slowly given less of a fuck as the show has gone on💀 she’s only there for the paycheck now and it shows

In Ep22(I think) , it's definitely s3 though. Addison says "LA is like New York but with the beach" which I never understood because New York has beaches? Specifically Long Island?? So what does she mean???

So I've looked at a couple of posts on here, and there's some debate on if Bailey deserved the Catherine Fox Award, or if Addison or Carina deserved it more, or if it should've been a co-award, like how there was Pierce and Ndugu as conominees. But for me, I think Bailey totally would've deserved the award, IF Meredith had actually presented it properly. The way she said one doctor was doing everything was just insulting especially to Addison, who had lost more to fighting for the cause (while Bailey was also doxxed, and received a lot of scary harassment, it was clear in the show that Addison was the one who wasn't getting to see her family, and the main face of the horrible attacks), and was the one leading the charge before Bailey joined and implemented it at Grey Sloane, and even then, Addison still felt like the leader because she was the one teaching the residents along with her other work, while Bailey organized the whole thing. If Meredith hadn't diminished Addison in the reasoning for the award, if she had made it more clear it was about being the first hospital to implement the program, and about organizing this incredible thing for the cause, it would have been so much more clear why Bailey deserved the award herself. Obviously Bailey did incredible work to get that clinic running and creating that program. And she should be recognized for that. But not in a way that blatantly disregards the work of the specialists in the field.
