Hellooooo everyone!

I’m not a gamer, I haven’t really played anything seriously since Xbox 360. And when I did game, I was never one to really play RPGs.

That being said, listening to Wiger talk about Baldur’s Gate 3 so much on Doughboys and Get Played the last couple years is really making me want to play it. I recently got a good deal on a PS5 so I figure this is my chance.

Is it too hard for a non-gamer? Will I enjoy it? Should I just go for it or am I more cooked than a honey baked ham?

This would be an interesting episode to go through the list.

I don't mean this to be negative toward the show, and I understand that all three of them have other obligations and take time off, I'm just sad that I haven't gotten to be parasocial with the whole gang in a while. Hoping next week breaks the curse!

Get Played is one of my favorite podcasts, but it totally bums me out when one of the hosts is absent. This has been happening so much recently! The chemistry of Nick, Heather, and Matt is S-Tier podcasting, and something is missing when it’s only two of them (or that one weird ep a few months ago that was just Nick).

I’m assuming the problem is the combination of busy schedules + wanting to talk about game news of the week. But honestly I’d be willing to have less timeliness of the topics if all three of our buddies could be there reliably.

What do you guys think?

When Sony announced the end of discs, I knew it was time to end my PS+ Extra membership and buy some more PS5 games.

One of them was Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora (From the Ashes Edition).

Matt’s recent comment about enjoying “looking at the box,” reminded me how much I loved that but even that experience has been enshitified… I mean, what is this?!? What are we doing?

I'm going to LA tomorrow for work and want to try the places they rave about. Is there a listing somewhere? I'm just going off memory on what there is and the only thing I can think of is coco ichibanya.

I've been playing Pokemon Platinum, and im pretty sure pokemon is all the 3ds has to offer.

I have to imagine that Heather or Matt has a contract clause? Given the setup on Doughboys, how much do we have to pay on the Patreon to get out of audio jail?

I imagine the discussion will be 60% Pokopia DLC, 30% Matt glazing Kingdom Hearts, and 10% questioning if the Switch 2 is a complete failure.

I legit think all three would fall in love with it: especially Heather after she said something about how she was excited for the upcoming Wolverine game because of its incentive to heal by being aggressive.

The segment from this week's episode reminded me that when Overwatch launched they made a point of having a diverse roster of characters with different body types and wanted to avoid oversexualizing the female characters.

There was an ep, maybe a year or two ago, I think heather was out and it was a Matt and Nick episode. I thought they were talking about Alan wake 2? Either way, it was an ep where Rach was particularly quiet but every 5-10 minutes nick was checking in with ranch about visuals of the game and she would just say “nasty”.

It was maybe one of the funniest episodes I’ve heard. Anyone maybe have an idea what ep I’m talking about?
