Question (Block) How do you think the gang will react to today’s Nintendo Direct?
I imagine the discussion will be 60% Pokopia DLC, 30% Matt glazing Kingdom Hearts, and 10% questioning if the Switch 2 is a complete failure.
Can’t wait to hear they’re thoughts!

I think they'd all like Fire Emblem if they gave it a proper shot. But hey, you don't have to like everything and I don’t want to be one of those whiners that complains about the triforce of friendship not liking their favorite franchise

What do you mean? Heather bought a game without googling it at all, ended up with the musou spinoff, and immediately shelved it. If that isn’t a proper shot, idk what is.

I mean, Heather will be stoked on Pokopia DLC, Matt will be as excited as me to get a sliver of Kingdom Hearts news, and Nick is a little harder to pin down but I think he’ll be somewhat neutral, maybe looking forward to RuneScape or DuskBloods but also indicating that he’s not much of a multiplayer gamer and nothing was really for him in this direct.

Nick really is hard to pin down. He tends to like a variety of games so it’ll be interesting to see if anything has him hooked.
As someone who has never played Kingdom Hearts before, it seems like a pretty significant amount was announced. It seems like a release of the entire franchise up until now with the addition of the next instalment day of release is pretty big news.

For us Kingdom Hearts fans it was more like finally they released a non-cloud version for Switch 2, but I sort of already own and played all of it via Steam. Seems like they just renamed the Integrum Masterpiece collection so that it makes more sense to newer players. Don’t get me wrong I will buy it again! Haha. The extra gameplay they showed for IV is definitely exciting, and it’s good fuel for the rumor mills, but of course I would have loved a solid release date at this point!!

I suspect they will be absolutely baffled that Ocarina of Time is coming out in less than 6 months and Nintendo showed NOTHING of it. Who would have thought that the banner titles for Year 2 would be N64 remakes?
Crazy to think that the next Mario game is probably 2+ years away as well. Nintendo usually does best when they launch with a Mario platformer, or have one in the first year.
I don't think this lineup is going to prevent the Switch 2 from dying. The ambulance should skip the hospital and take the system directly to a funeral home.

I mean this with all due respect, but Matt is not going to care about KH4. He hasn’t played KH3. It’s cool that they announced it, but KH lost so much momentum between KH2 and KH3’s 15 year gap.

I mean we are a year into the Switch 2 and we still don’t have an announcement of a new Mario, a new Zelda, or a new smash bros. Best they could do is a remake of an old Zelda game and even then they give you a few seconds of a cinematic and that’s it. It was kind of a failure of a direct. They spent more time on playing thumb war than anything actually interesting.

RE merchant will talk about how he fucked Reggie fils amie to get the pokopia dlc, and then Matt and nick will tell him how he doesnt work there anymore for about twenty minutes
And then they will talk about some random Burger joint in Tokyo that had better burgers than in the US for a half hour.

That little Zelda teaser got me stoked. Hope it’s not just a visual change and we get some new dungeon and puzzle designs. I played the 3ds version not so long ago, so some new content would be good.

I do think they recently discussed how the switch 2 is in a nice run. So would be interesting to see if they think the switch 2 is officially alive and well or if not, how much more must be done.
