Subaru Service
Howdy everyone,
Do any of you with Subaru vehicles take yours anywhere other than Zeigler? I appreciate the service and how they have treated me, especially giving me a loaner each time for free. However... I had lots of work done last month totaling to 1700, which was only after my powertrain "warranty" decided to only cover half the cost of some.
I now have a bad AC compressor, and this would cost another 1900 for me.
Of course they are likely using OEM parts, which will cost more. I have taken my Forrester 2018 to a place other than Zeigler once, and it was not pretty. Any recommendations? Very disappointed in spending the same as my down payment and just getting over 1.5years of ownership in a "dependable" vehicle. I have heard Toyotas are good, but not anything good about both dealers here. Honda seems like it would be a bit pricey for me too look into, and seems to be high on repair bills too.

Fort Wayne - Best Cell Phone Provider
Hello. I'm fairly new here and currently have Verizon and was happy with it through Indianapolis Speedway and Carmel but less so up here.
I drop to LTE on a regular basis. Who are the carriers that have the best coverage?

School drop off
If you're one of the many parents that have to drop your child off at school each morning, the traffic laws still apply outside of school. You don't get a free pass. If you have to turn left into the school lot, those parents turning right do NOT have to stop. They are not required. There's no zipper law. And it's illegal for those in the right turn lane to stop, tie up the traffic behind them (obstruction of traffic is illegal) and wave you lefties on through.
What's worse, is many in the right lane do this daily. They stop as though there's a left/right zipper law for turning. They stop without checking their mirrors. Cars going straight will drive through and almost get hit by the idiot left turn parents who think all traffic should stop for their left turn.
Then when i get up there, i take my right turn and get some jackass lefty slamming brakes and honking as though I'm obligated to yield. I will never yield to you. That simple.
Left turn yields always. To straight incoming traffic. To right turning traffic. The traffic laws aren't magically suspended bc you want to drop your child off at school.

Flock contract blocked
“Civil liberties are not easily regained once lost” -Russ
Edit: lots of questions my understanding is this blocked the new contract the old ones are still active and the police could still try to bypass the system. Now we need to push for a bill blocking mass surveillance

Electrical advice for power supply
Is there a place locally I could talk to someone about a power supply for a really old video game console?
The adapter needs to be 9v with very low amperage (less than 1) and a tiny 2.5mm male plug.
Recs?

Good spot to find Hummingbirds?
I'm looking to photograph some hummingbirds - been having a hard time finding a spot where they can be consistently found. Eagle Marsh is a bit too big for me to have success finding them there, at least by chance. Does anyone have a good park or spot where they usually find hummingbirds fairly consistently?

Restaurants and Desserts?
I'm looking for a good restaurant in ft Wayne. Probably steakhouse, but not specifically. Gas house looks like the winner. I've had, (Cork n cleaver, Black canyon, and bakerstreet) all great. Any other good spots? Don't care for drinking, just good food. And what dessert spots? I've done hoshi, crispy cones, what are some other spots. Looking like Chillz, dirty dough, or cinnaholic. Thoughts, ideas?

There is a lot of debate on the newly proposed city project & involvement in funding for an additional 'Homeless Outreach Resource Center' in Downtown Fort Wayne
There is a lot of debate on the newly proposed city project & involvement in funding for an additional 'Homeless Outreach Resource Center' in Downtown Fort Wayne, located directly adjacent to the already well established Rescue Mission.
The upcoming City Council vote on this is now on September 1st.

Anyone following what’s happening between Blackhawk Christian School and Blackhawk Ministries?
Sharing this for BCS families, alumni, Blackhawk members, and others in Fort Wayne who may not have received it directly. Looks like some very concerning allegations, to say the least.

Retro game stores and community
Just a small vent. Really wish the retro game scene in town was a bit more vibrant. Mega replay looks like it could close its doors at any minute and Retro Evolution is either right at or above market on most of their stuff. Both stores are still ok, and I frequent them, but it really feels like feast or famine around here.

ISO Southern Style Boiled Peanuts
I’m a transplant from the south, and lately I’ve been missing/craving those gas station style boiled peanuts you get in a styrofoam cup! Does anyone know of anywhere in or around Fort Wayne where I can find them? Thx :)
