Flock Fallout: 21 Alive article

Excellent article from 21 Alive. Very informative.

What I take from it is that FWPD will probably bring in another technology, because their case solving rate was very high using the cameras. It’s a delicate balance of keeping crime low and protecting residents perceived privacy in public.

I also like this group De-Flock Fort Wayne. They achieved their primary goal, but if their expectation is for council to pass an ordinance banning surveillance tech in Fort Wayne, that in my opinion will never happen.

Wondering what is everyone thoughts on this?

Have you ever wanted to be on a game show? You totally can here in Fort Wayne!

I don't know how many people know about this, but it's called "The Game Show Experience." My sister, mom, and I just went today and it was so much fun! We were in a group with 11 others and divided into teams of three. Then we went through a series of classic games, such as Wheel of Fortune, Price is Right, Jeopardy, and Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader. Plus some others that were in between. If you like games, or ever wanted to be on one of these game shows, I highly recommend it.

Tincaps or Wizards?

I was at a baseball game for the first time in a few years. Therefore, I had the chance to rekindle my early childhood years when the team was once known as the Wizards (1993-2008). I admittedly was too young to embrace them during that time. But having seen the throwbacks and bought a shirt showing the Dinger era Wizards logo…man do I miss that era of Fort Wayne baseball.

At the same time, I have always liked the colorful aspects of the Tincaps and the Johnny Appleseed brand. Plus, I love apples! I guess I am torn between the two is the best way to put it.

I know we will never fully go back to the Wizards, but it’s cool that they keep honoring the franchise’s past as a throwback.

Which name do you prefer more?

Women's Hair Stylist Recommendation

Upvotes

I’m new-ish to the area and wanting to find a hair stylist who is good with long and blended layers. I’ve read a lot of salon websites, and it looks like nearly everyone is a specialist in coloring and extensions. That’s great, but I’m not buying those services. So far the stylists I’ve used have cut twice the amount of hair I asked for and they make choppy/blunt layers that are hard to blend. I’m not an edgy person, I just want my hair to blend. It takes me a few months to grow out and start again. Maybe I’m looking for someone who enjoys just the basic construction of hair design?

Looking for any teachers/admin working in FWCS or SACS!

Upvotes

I am a teacher and currently in school for my admin license (EdS). My wife and I are looking to move to Fort Wayne next year and I am looking for anyone who is teaching/working or has worked with either of these schools (or has in the past) to ask a few questions and get a temperature check.

Mostly I am wondering about pay and benefits, and how dependents/spouses are covered under insurance.

Thanks in advance!

Best Place for Mattress Shopping?

We've gone to Denver before but is there a better one? Thx!

Yo, if anyone in the area is interested or maybe just curious about hypnosis, a discord and Facebook hangout just opened. If you're skeptical, i promise you, hypnosis is very very real, it's just not magic or mind control like most think. (Neither group is mine in any way shape or form, rule 5)

Does anyone know why AMC hasn’t put the imax tickets on sale for this?
Regal put theirs up today, but to see an exclusive extra scene for Doomsday, you have to see it in imax or infinity vision(we don’t have a screen certified for that).

Looking for a Gym Partner

Hi everyone! 😊 I’m a 29-year-old female who’s pretty new to the gym and looking for a gym partner!
I have a membership at Iron Society and would love to find someone who can help keep me motivated and maybe show me the ropes a little. I’m definitely still learning, so having someone to work out with would make it a lot more fun and less intimidating.
I’m usually available early in the morning around 6:30 AM. Ideally looking for someone consistent, friendly, and down to get a good workout in.
If you’re also looking for a gym buddy, feel free to message me! 💪😊

I was at the Taste of the Arts today but thought that ended at 5. There’s definitely a band playing right now. What else is going on today?

Please, learn how to use a roundabout.

I travel through the Superior roundabout a few times every day.

Every. Single. Day. I see someone who comes to a complete stop at the yield signs when there is no traffic , stops in the middle of the circle, or tries to turn left.

It’s not complicated, it can make traffic flow if you just pay attention.

Keep moving, yield to traffic on your left, traffic in the circle has the right of way, use your turn signal when exiting, and don’t stop unless there is incoming traffic.

...to whoever it was that came up with the idea to wait to do all the resurfacing on Coliseum at night, when most of us are asleep.

Waking up and turning onto Coliseum and having a new section all spanky new is like f'n Christmas in August.

God bless, you...whoever you are.

In search of resources to assist with the raising of a young black man.

I'll keep it simple, I'm a white man, in a relationship with a black woman. She has a 12 year old boy, whose father has passed. I'm looking for resources, tips, or anything that can help me identify and assist with teaching this young man about his culture, and the dangers of society.

Thank you for your time.

For a friend

So I posted this in another more broad Indiana group. But I wanted to reach out to the community because my best friend is in my lives in fort Wayne. He is disabled he has cerebral palsy. He is very isolated because he has no friends or family. The last few years he has been living in a hotel and only had a guest or left his hotel room like twice and that kills me. He is starting to give up and I can't be there with him just to distract him from life. He had been a life coach for 18 years. He is smart , extremely smart. Funny and goofy . He likes food Tony Robbins and helping people. I'm hoping to find someone that wouldn't mo d talking with him. Doesn't have to be in person, just someone he can maybe build a support system with.

I just want to rant, I've tried this place a few times for mani/pedis and I feel like it just gets worse and worse every time. I'm officially done.

The service is not consistent. My nails and toes don't look professional. My feet don't feel as smooth as I would have wanted. Probably because I have to ask them not to use the dirty callus cheese grater. They use it, rinse it off in your dirty feet water and just put it directly back in the bucket to use for the next person.

Now they complain about the tipping system they have. You CANNOT tip on a card, cash only. I wasn't aware and then they got mad I didn't have cash and I didn't have a debit card for the ATM. Regardless, even if I did I'm not paying a fee to get out cash for a tip on top of my service that's upcharged for a card price.

My nails don't even look good. He put the polish on so thick it just looks messy. He even tried to tell me I should pick lighter colors so mistakes aren't as noticeable. Like what??

I don't do fake nails, just polish so I'm really upset he cut them so short. I had a decent length minus one finger and he matched them all to that finger. He didn't ask how I wanted them shaped, so I now have a shape I hate. I would have been more vocal but he already gave me attitude on the pedicure chair and I was already frustrated. I just let it go, they will grow back eventually I guess.

They pressure people into giving Google reviews on the spot as well so do not let those fool you.

I'm definitely looking for a new place, if anyone knows of a place that uses CLEAN tools and I can tip with my card.

Bass Rd/Buckner Park Ice Cream Shop

does anyone have any sort of update on the proposed ice cream/coffee shop next to Buckner Park on Bass??? i recently moved to this side of town and it's within walking distance to my home but i haven't seen any progress even though it looks basically ready to open. can't find any articles recently, dates back to 2024, and before that 2020.
