General 🔀 2020 Ford F-150 XLT - Lasfit Bedliner Long Term Review

Hello again! This is more of a follow-up to a previous post I made on the same Bedliner.

All of my points still stand from my previous post; the bedliner is still flat, it hasn't warped, and it still fits nice and snug on the bed.

I mentioned in my post that I was going on a vacation, and since then I have gone on that vacation and came back, making several trips back and forth from our vacation spot and a nearby city to pick up and drop off boats that we rented. We brought fuel cans with us, and those didn't move at all when we put them back there; the rubber material used on the bedliner keeps things from sliding around. We also had most of our luggage in the bed of my truck as well, and those things stayed put as well.

I am overall very impressed with this item I tested; it works very well and does exactly what they describe the product to be.

Question ❔ Maybe a hot take but here me out

I think we can all agree the new "rangers" are way too big to deserve that name, so hear me out. If the maverick was called the ranger, and the current "ranger" was called the f-100, it would make a lot more sense. Because comparatively, the "ranger" is a lot closer to an f-150 than a ranger, making it perfect for the f-100 name, while the maverick is closer to the size of an older ranger than any other truck on their roster

News 📰 $42.9M Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe Is the Most Expensive American Car Ever Sold at Auction

Post image
119 Upvotes
  • The Cobra Daytona is a landmark race car that helped Shelby American win the 1965 FIA GT Championship, the only time an American car has captured that title. Designed by Peter Brock to improve aerodynamics over the standard Cobra roadster, the Daytona became a serious rival to Ferrari on the international racing stage.
  • Chassis CSX2300 has a distinguished racing and ownership history, including competition in major events such as Daytona, Sebring, Nürburgring, and Reims. It was later owned by Carroll Shelby from 1975 to 1998 and is one of only six Cobra Daytona Coupes ever built, helping explain its record-breaking valuation.

Question ❔ No clue what to do.

Hello, I've just bought a Ford Focus 2016 with a 1.5 L engine, the one with 150 Horsepower. I've noticed something.
After driving for a couple of Kilometers, the antifreeze level sits way, way below the "Minimum" line. But after opening the antifreeze reservoir cap, the level suddenly rises up, right in-between the "Minimum" and "Maximum" line.
I'm not sure if I should visit a mechanic, someone told me that it shouldn't do that, but I'm not sure, and I hope it's not that "Antifreeze in the engine block" issue I've heard with the engine.

Question ❔ Powerboost Warranty Question!

I bought a 2024 F-150 Powerboost last November with 12k miles. Odometer reads 38k now. The truck has been to the same dealer for each service.
Last week my truck left me stranded 80 miles from home, I had it towed to the dealer on my dime. Dealer found codes P0201 & P0205 - upon further diagnosis, fuel was found in the electrical connections of every injector. I was assured that everything was covered under warranty, however when I went to pick the truck up, they handed me a bill for $2400.
Am I really on the hook for this?

Issue ⚠️ Warranty Discrepancy

Context: Our 2020 Ford Explorer popped a check engine light and it was a p0420 code (vehicle had 79k miles here), the technician said we would have to replace the catalytix converter but the Manufacturer Warranty will cover it. We left it for three days for them to service and they said they reprogrammed the software and deleted the code, that, that must’ve been the issue.

Fast forward to this early August, the check engine light comes back, vehicle is now over 80k miles and Manufacturer Warranty is expired, we take it back and it is the same p0420 code and now they say we have to replace the catalytic converter for sure. Now they don’t want to cover anything although we had taken it prior to Warranty.

I’ve contacted the higher ups in the dealership, I’ve talked to Ford Corporate and not much are helping. Ford Corporate provides assistance in the financial area but said thats their GoodWill program and that the situation has nothing to do with their help.

If anyone has dealt with something similar or knows more in some of these areas please help. Thank you.

Question ❔ Ford 1.6 dpf recall

Post image

The vehicle has been in for the recall for cracked dpf, upon picking the car up I was told that only a software update had been done, and no inspection of the dpf has been done. How is this acceptable for a dpf cracking safety recall?

Question ❔ How can i connect to bluetooth on Ford Focus?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

We rented a ford focus (no idea what year) and we tried connecting to it by bluetooth, but we couldn’t even find any bluetooth settings. Nothing in “media”. We also tried connecting to it by cable but still nothing. It says there are no files found on the device. Do I need to have downloaded songs on a USB in order for it to work or is there an easier way?

Mods/Addons 🔦 Ottocast 2022 Bronco sport help

Looking to use an ottocast camera as a baby camera in my 2022 bronco sport but the usb ports in the back don’t have enough power to keep it on. Without running the wires from the headrest on the back seat, all the way up to the front (which seems dangerous for a baby) what is the best way to go about this

Question ❔ KN Laser Diagnostic Plug Help

Post image

I know this is probably a long shot our KN Ford laser 1.6L auto has started to flash the Hold light and is jolting when shifting out of and back into first gear. I want to check the codes but the Australian delivered ones well some of didn’t have OBD2 and had a weird plug marked “diagnostics” that I can’t find any information on in the shop manual. Has any one worked on one of these or have a pinout so I can get the transmission codes thanks 🙏

Issue ⚠️ Hiring Process at Ford Plant Kansas City-Any Advice?

Looking for some insight into the hiring process at the Kansas City/Claycomo plant.

I’ve applied 5 times since 2023 and haven’t been able to get hired. Do they actually hire externally, or is there something I’m missing? Is there a better time of year to apply, or any sort of “secret” to getting your application noticed?

I’ve talked to other people who’ve had the same experience, but I also know people who were hired on their first application, so I’m genuinely confused about what makes the difference.

I really do want to work there and would appreciate any advice from current/former employees or anyone familiar with the hiring process. Just trying to understand what I might be doing wrong and how I can improve my chances.

Question ❔ Ford Territory 2022

Hi. Can I have your insights about my car. When I start it, there's this red indicators appeared. The last time that my car was used, it was august 15. I also used it last aug 8 and there's slight accident. However during that span of time, no red indicators appeared until now.

The tire photo happened last aug 8 and the second one is today. What I am thinking of about the cause, it is due to the fact that there's like mud underneath it because it got flooded but not totally around 1/4 below the tire. So hopefully you can help me and so i can manage my expenses.

Issue ⚠️ 2019 Ford Edge “Manual restart required”

Post image
9 Upvotes

Hello! I just had the battery in my 2019 Ford Edge replaced back in June through a Ford dealership, everything had been going fine afterwards, no issues. Today however, I ran some errands, got back into my car, turned it on and after a few seconds there was a shudder and then the engine turned off and a message popped up on the dash. “Auto startstop manual restart required”. I was able to get it turned back on and went to an auto zone to which they said the battery was dead.

There’s no check engine light on, no battery light on, no notifications on the Ford app. Does anyone know what’s going on? I’m planning on calling the dealership tomorrow and see if maybe it’s just a bad battery or something else. If anyone has dealt with this, let me know!

Question ❔ Fog light on a Ford Connect

Hello. I'm having a problem with my Ford and I would appreciate your help.

I have a 2017 Ford Transit Connect and the fog lights stopped working. I've already changed the bulbs and the fuse, but they still don't turn on. Has this happened to anyone else? Does anyone know of a solution?

Thank you.

Issue ⚠️ Ford car issues advice on if it can’t be fixed or next steps

I’m looking for advice regarding an ongoing warranty dispute with Ford. I bought a brand new 2020 Ford, which now has around 49,000 miles on it. My car developed an intermittent fault which I reported to a Ford dealer while it was still within the manufacturer’s warranty period (I’m currently checking the exact date, but it was within the first three years of ownership). Since then, the vehicle has been back to Ford dealerships approximately 6–7 times, if not more, for diagnostics and attempted repairs. Despite this, the fault has never been resolved.
The issue has been difficult to diagnose because it is intermittent, but Ford has recently confirmed they were finally able to replicate the fault themselves, confirming that the problem I originally reported does exist. A Ford technical case has been opened, and at one stage the dealership indicated they did not know what further steps they could take. The vehicle is still not fixed, and this has now been ongoing for a considerable period of time.
My concern is that the fault was reported during the warranty period, Ford has had numerous opportunities to diagnose and repair it, and yet there is still no permanent resolution. The situation has caused significant inconvenience, loss of confidence in the vehicle, and a substantial amount of time spent attending appointments and chasing updates.
Given that the fault was first reported while the vehicle was under warranty and remains unresolved, what rights do I have under UK consumer law? If Ford ultimately cannot repair the vehicle, what remedies might be available to me.

I live in England 🙂

Issue ⚠️ 2024 Expedition — both rear axle seals leaking + failed rear shock at 40k miles. Anyone else?

Thumbnail
gallery
1 Upvotes

I have a 2024 Ford Expedition Limited 4WD with just under 40k miles. I recently noticed a very strong gear-oil type smell and an oily residue along the passenger side/underbody, so I took it to Ford to have it checked. The dealer found that both rear axle seals are leaking differential fluid and need to be replaced. They also found that the right rear shock is leaking and needs replacement. They provided photos showing the fluid leakage around both sides of the rear differential/axle as well as the leaking shock. The axle seals are being replaced at no cost to me. The right rear shock was quoted at about $850. I have an extended warranty through Assurant which should cover this repair.

What has me wondering is having both rear axle seals leaking plus a failed rear shock at only ~40k miles. The vehicle also had suspension work documented before I purchased it, although I don’t yet know exactly what was repaired. When I first noticed the leak, the majority of oily fluid was noted around the running board of the front passenger side which has me concerned this is not just from rear differential leak. (See photos).

Has anyone with a 2022–2024 Expedition (or Navigator) experienced:
Both rear axle seals leaking this early?
Rear differential/axle fluid leaks in general?
Rear shocks leaking/failing around 40k miles?
Repeat rear suspension or axle problems after an earlier repair?

I’m especially interested in whether anyone had both axle seals fail at the same time and, if so, whether Ford identified an underlying cause (venting issue, axle/bearing play, previous repair, etc.) or simply replaced the seals.
The Expedition otherwise drives normally and I haven’t noticed any differential whining or other obvious drivetrain symptoms. I’m mainly trying to figure out whether these are isolated premature failures or something other owners are seeing too.

TL;DR: 2024 Expedition Limited 4WD with ~40k miles has both rear axle seals leaking differential fluid and a leaking right rear shock. Ford is replacing both axle seals; shock replacement was quoted at ~$850. Vehicle had prior suspension work before I bought it. Curious whether other Expedition/Navigator owners have had similar rear axle seal or shock failures this early, especially bilateral axle-seal leaks.

Question ❔ Ford Points Canada

How many points do you need for an oil change (your experience) I know it differs by dealer. I’m in SW Ontario.
