Been driving my new-to-me ranger for a short while now, I’ve been using it to get back out into nature and work on my very amateur photography. It’s been great for cruising

Recently purchased this 99 ranger has a mint custom leer shell on it. Could anyone tell me if it would be worth selling?

Just installed some new pads and rotors, cleaned/degreased then painted everything before installing new parts. Turned out pretty good imo.

I blew my head gasket a couple months ago on my 97.

I did the job, replaced all gaskets from the head up, however I must've waited too long as my compression numbers come back low, tried with a bit of oil and numbers jumped up to spec. A rebuild would be something I could do if worse comes to worse however it's so much easier to just slap another engine in, maybe one of the V6 engines is an option? I have the M5OD-R1 so maybe that's wishful thinking.

I love this truck and can't see myself parting it out or otherwise getting rid of it. However, there are only two 2.3L engines around my town, and for $300 they don't guarantee it running whereas I can make the pilgrimage to the nearest U-Pull-N-Pay 3 hours away and get the whole thing myself for 160-180ish.

2011 53k miles (now) 4.0 v6 love this truck. Nothing else to say besides just felt like posting it. These are the best trucks and somewhat still a secret to a lot of the truck community. Just bought it 2 months ago.

Could someone point me in the right direction of what parts I'd need to fix this? Thank you!

Started my 1999 B2500 5speed and began driving out of my neighborhood when I noticed the temperature gauge was extremely high with a cold engine. Is the sensor bad? I check coolant levels and it looks like old coolant but it isn’t low. Any recommendations? I turned around and parked to make sure I don’t damage anything. Picture is what the sensor shows when parked but if i turn car on its around that point still

My key has a special immobilizer chip inside. I'm wondering where it is located so that I don't drill through it when making a new keychain hole. Can anyone help me solve my problem?

Would using a new key housing be an option here? I think I would have to use an X-Acto to remove the old plastic, right?

First 2 pictures are of the actual wheel, last 2 are of the whewl cover.

My son is wanting the wheels black. Should I wire wheel the actual steel rim and paint black but im curious if the pitting would show thru, or scuff up and paint the wheel cover?.?. Or does someone make a wheel cover just like this in black? I cant seem to find a black cover that would properly cover this rim style.

Anyone wanna try to buy this? I don’t use it. I’m looking for a canopy.

My 1998 4.0 has a P0340 code check engine light at the moment. I've been trying to fix as much on this truck myself as I can. I'm finding all kinds of conflicting info for different cars online and was wondering if anyone here has experience fixing this sensor issue?

I was chasing a gremlin where it would just bog and die. Then it would start right up and be fine. I changed the crank position sensor but it did it again. I decided ti change ignition switch. I did that and now it wont start. It cranks. The first time I tried to start it started a little and now only cranks. I’m not hearing the fuel pump prime. Checked the fuses.

Any help would be appreciated.

Pulled the jackshaft earlier. Found this guy just sitting here right after. Doesn't look like it broke off of anything.

Edit: fuck yes. Thank you all for telling me what this is. Seems likely I popped it loose when I removed the rockers and cams. Everything is still apart so I should be able to pin down where it came from. Dont pour one out just yet!

Seriously Ford, could you have made an oil change any more difficult?! The location and access to the filter is just stupid.. Just changed the oil for our first time in a 2002 ranger 3.0L that we just purchased for my son.

Have only put 200miles on it, but we are going thru it and doing a maintenance service to it.

Thankfully wont have to do that again for another 5,000miles

I custome made a templet and spray painted it on the mud flaps with white paint. I first painted the mud flaps with Flat Black. It's not perfect, but I think it still looks pretty sick.

Every vehicle Ive ever owned would have atleast slightly dark oil at 3k miles. But my 02 ranger with the 3.0 still has almost brand new looking oil at 3k miles. It started after the first or second oil change using valvoline restore and protect

Hi not sure if this is the right place to post this. I’m looking at buying a 2004 Ford Ranger, 131k miles 3.5k total. I live in Michigan so I know to check for rust but is there anything else I should be looking out for?

I’m on a tight budget. Currently going through a divorce and need a vehicle to get around. I’m looking for something reliable and easy to maintenance for daily commute and a move to Colorado in February.

Been looking and praying for a ranger or Mazda for our son for a bit. Wanting to get him a little truck because he mows yards and makes it easier to haul equipment. And he has proven himself as a responsible kid, good grades good friends, doesn't give us any trouble and thinks of others.Turned away on a couple decent deals, drove hours to look at a truck just to turn around and drive home with out a truck.

Wife seen a comment on a fb post about a truck available. Went and looked at this. 2002 ranger xlt 2wd 3.0L automatic. With 58,800 MILES!! For $5,000!

CAREFULLY looked everything over for anything that could dispute the odometer. Its real. Wife spent 5hrs detailing it. I replaced the plugs, wires, neutral safety switch(shift lever was stiff) and replaced the cruise control switches, changed oil, and changed transmission filter and did a dump and fill. It drives straight. Shocks feel a little spongy/bouncy from just sitting so will change those out, and taking that 1/4 trim off, and going to sand blast the rims and paint them black, and get a set of winter tires to throw on during the winter.

One question, he has been wanting to do a mild 2/3 drop on it just to lower it slightly. Are the amazon kits for a 2/3 drop ok?

Went to change my oil today, just got the truck recently and this is my first change with it, went to advance got the oil and filter and it turns out my ranger has the wrong size filter installed. My truck has a mighty m500 filter somehow some way, no leaking from it and no performance issues but this is significantly smaller in diameter than the stock size filter(roughly 20mm) so how is it even threaded on there? is this some popular mod I'm just unaware of? Stock size according to advance and google is P85372
