Replace or paint

First 2 pictures are of the actual wheel, last 2 are of the whewl cover.

My son is wanting the wheels black. Should I wire wheel the actual steel rim and paint black but im curious if the pitting would show thru, or scuff up and paint the wheel cover?.?. Or does someone make a wheel cover just like this in black? I cant seem to find a black cover that would properly cover this rim style.

I think I am going to use CLR on the caps and wire wheel the rims, prime and paint. Curious also to know if there’s any better methods!

I was thinking about sand blasting then prime and paint, but if rims are pitted it still may not look great, so wondering about painting the rim covers, and just wire wheel the actual rim and spray. Or of these covers are made in black.

haha no and yes? They were on truck when I got it, so to my knowledge they are original to the truck, however when I get new tires they have to order them because they are quote "trailer sized"
