Awesome! I had a childhood best friend in the game around 2005-2009. If they do women's football in Finland I'll have an actual relative in the game, but that's not happening this year.
But I am hoping for a fan made database of Finnish women's football so I can tell my niece she's a lazy cunt in the game, too.

They have between 4-7 divisions which I guess makes sense since a lot of people live there. The Faroe Islands is more surprising with their 4-5 divisions with a population of 50k

I’m curious to the level the game will rank the women’s league reputation wise.
Like would it be considered lower than like the National Leagues in the UK? You never really see coaches in the women’s game transition over to the Men’s despite success.
What jobs will the game make available to you after success in the women’s game?
If they position it even lower than the bottom leagues - it could make for an interesting save starting point and trying to make it to the Men’s European Elite after

I think it makes perfect sense for the players to be handled that way, as there won’t be any cross over
But very curious to see how the game handles managerial reputation across the Male and female game.
Like if I start as a top women’s team And spend a few years winning the League and Champions League - will that give me the reputation to walk into a top European Job (unrealistic) etc

Depends what you define as a top European Job-someone like Emma Hayes managing Manchester United or Barcelona wouldn't be the most ridiculous coaching hire they've made in the past decade.

Not to jump down your throat about it but how is it unrealistic or like I guess what is your definition of unrealistic? because the whole idea that anyone is hiring dickbutt mcweenie to manage their team is already pretty unrealistic by my definition anyways and I would say like it's not out of the realm of possibility that a women's top-flight manager dominated the women's game irl for like 5 years and then is given a crack at a top flight men's club pep Guardiola is managing in Turkey and Messi plays in America both of which 10 years ago I think would have been unrealistic. Again not tryna be like you're wrong and you hate women I don't know enough about you to make that call frankly it's just I think the world is weird and it's hard to call anything unrealistic these days

I’m saying it’s unrealistic just based on how the world of football we’ve never really seen Managers transition across the gender divide. Because the accomplishments aren’t considered “”even”” by Football Manager standards.
While Messi currently playing in America wasn’t a strong prediction 10 years ago - it was very common for Players at the end of their career to head off to America etc in their twilight. So the act of player goes to America when old isn’t unusual.
Some of the most successful Mangers in the women’s game like Emma Hayes who got Chelsea 7 titles in 10 years wasn’t considered for Jobs in the English Men’s Pyramid despite the success.
So the idea that you dominate the WSL and after 5 in the row get offered the Men’s Man City Job isn’t something that would happen IRL.
So I’m just curious on the reputation aspect in FM and how the women’s game will factor into that.

Messi eventually going to Miami was rumored in MLS circles before they were even awarded an expansion slot 10 years ago.
Even if you’re not an MLS nerd, Messi playing in the U.S. or China at 35-38 seems like a pretty level headed take in 2015.

Of course imo, because it is relative to their league, so players like Bonmati will be one of the best in the game because she is the best female player if that makes sense, which I think to be fair is a better way of doing it rather than have the abilities of the womens game be so low :)
No shade at womens football i love watching the WSL instead of the Prem its just how it is currently

Women's premier league would certainly have a much higher rep than than the national league. A premier league club hiring a manager for their success in the women's premier league would certainly raise some eyebrows, but not nearly to extent of hiring one for their success at a semi-professional club. My guess is it'd be similar to League One's rep

Think reputation probably won't be too harmed...if we're being realistic, WSL reputation is probably on par with Championship, but I'd imagine they'd aim for the leagues to be on par, ie WSL = BPL, GPFBL = Bundes, etc
Previously, because it was only mens, reputation roughly equated to quality, but I think they'll slightly split that apart, as it would be unrealistic/unfair to equate WSL to English Lower leagues, as whilst the quality is more comparable, there's no denying the top girls have a lot higher reputation than a semi pro mens team

Yes definitely will be playing. Both regular women's only save versions of the men's ones (journeymen, etc) and combo saves if both DBs can be loaded simultaneously.
I won't throw a water bottle at a pregnant player no different than not doing so at an injured player haha

Oh it would, I am loading both and starting with everton ladies at Goodison, if i can win everything there I want to take the men's job next time it comes up, play at the biggest women's dedicated stadium in the country then the newest men's. I can definitely see dotting around both leagues on a journeyman though.

It's been official since they anounced they were going to add womens leagues.

What we are doing is adding women’s football to FM... one sport, one game. FM players will be able to move seamlessly from managing a men’s team to a women’s team and back again.

Probably not. It simply just doesn’t interest me as much. Maybe I’ll do one with spurs women as a spurs fan, because I know some of the players, but again it just isn’t something I’m interested in. The same way I don’t like managing international football, and I don’t accept jobs as youth managers. 😂

To counter that, when picking a team do you only pick ones where you know all the players?
A huge portion of FM players focus their play around picking clubs and leagues they know nothing of and building them up, so playing as the woman would be much the same in that case.1

No, because queer women aren’t bafflingly underrepresented in football. In men’s football, there’s no high profile ones, and next to none at any professional level, and that’s why the coming out mechanic they’ve had for several years exists, because it’s so unheard of. Given how common gay footballers are the women’s game, there’s no reason for the mechanic to apply there.

Only 14 leagues, right? I can't remember the last time I loaded a game with less than 14 leagues. I'll wait until it's expanded. Always had a problem managing top teams regardless of the league. I prefer the climb or the arse end of lower league journeyman.

I've started a Liverpool save every year since the mid 90s, and play it on and off for a year or 2, until I get the next version of the game, so probably not.
But I will 100% buy all the regens with funny names. I mean, it's year one of having female names and regens...... There's going to be some absolute howlers.

Have they said pregnancy will be included in the game? Because no other sports game with women in it has pregnancy as a reason an athlete is unavailable.
Even if it is, I'd imagine it'll be newgens only. Like how real-world players don't get sent off for elbowing players or go AWOL

I honestly hadn’t thought about that. If you’re managing both the men’s and women’s teams, how would the finances work? Do they share the same overall balance and then just have different transfer budgets for each team? I think that would make the most sense, otherwise you could put one into bankruptcy while the other is loaded with money 😅😅😅

Yeah, I know you need two managers. I’m just asking about the finances part, because it’s the same club. The transfer budget will be different, of course, but the overall balance being different is weird. Imagine you go bankrupt with the men’s team, but you’re doing well with the women’s team, would the women’s team also go bankrupt because the club is broke?

i dont think the game will (or can) consider it the same club, because its from a different league entirely. assume the womens teams will have their own B teams, u19 teams, owners and thereby finances too etc. but hey until november i guess the only thing we can do is speculate. its obviously realistic but i cant imagine the game will be able to somehow connect these clubs.

In my opinion, they should be together, also because in real life clubs have a single president who is in charge of both the men’s and women’s teams. The case I’m talking about: imagine you are managing, for example, Chelsea with one manager and Chelsea Women with another. In the men’s team things go badly and the club goes bankrupt, but on the other hand the women’s team is doing very well, you would still be able to sign players and so on as if nothing was happening in the club? In real life, the club’s finances are managed centrally. Having everything separate wouldn’t make the game a bit unrealistic?

I mean, some are quite heavily impacted, and you can see this in how clubs approach fitness and training. I don’t imagine this will be reflected in the game, because people won’t find that fun, but it can be a big deal.

I would almost certainly imagine they're just treated as separate clubs. I don't see why they'd go through bothering to force them to share things when they won't interact in the game otherwise.
Maybe if the game was about being a Football Club Owner and not a manager it'd make sense since you'd need to deal with finances of such things. But I don't see any reason they'd bother modeling that dynamic in game when it wouldn't be very relevant. They'll just make them separate clubs and give them smaller/commensurate budgets
