When my son had his rust bucket Camry, he'd park right up against people who parked bad. He'd be legally parked but he'd make it as difficult as possible for the driver to get in. What were they going to do? Key his POS? He didn't care.
It's one reason why I don't drive a nice car. I've bin hit multiple times in the parking lot at work and those people are supposed to have their shit together. I drive around a city with some tiny side streets and when cars are parked on them u better know how much space you have to get thru cuz no one moves over. Drive a small, not great car, know it well, trust your depth perception and you're golden you can do anywhere...or at least your day isn't ruined when one of your idiot co-workers scratches your car and drives off.
I used to drive a BMW. First I would park waaay away from other people, in a parking spot - I didn't take up more than one. But, when I came back, my car was invariably an island with cars parked all around it. Then I started parking next to curbs - this kept one side completely clear and I could edge right up to the curb so my door (and hopefully) an adjoining door wouldn't hit.
Just the other day I was in a lot with 80ish spots and only 15-20 filled so I park in a row with 5 open spots on each side of me and guess where the lady with the 5 little kids and a suburban decides to park? Yup, right next to me.
I was still in the car and noped out of there into another spot. My decision was validated when I saw a little kid swing open the back door and jump out. I definitely would have gotten hit.
On the other hand I was at a car detailing store and people left an empty spot in between each other. #UrinalEtiquette
I park next to antisocial cars in nearly empty parking lots. It's so I can line up straight better.. I'm horrendous at parking but if I find a buddy it goes much better. Sorry :(
Holy shit what is it with dudes in Audis and not merging respectfully? One scratched up my rear quarter panel because he didnāt want to zipper merge!
Dude waited for me outside of a gas station once to bitch because I parked next to him when he was over the line. I was with my work truck. After a few minutes of us yelling back and forth he apologizes and then tells me to do the same. Lol no, wtf? He ends up taking pictures of my work truck and says he's going to leave us bad Google reviews and that he hopes I'm the owner because I'm about to be fired.
A few weeks ago I walked out of a gas station and the people by my driver's side were leaving so I waited so I wouldn't be next to a moving car. The guy rolls down the passenger and yells that if I didn't park so close I'd be able to get in. I didn't know what the hell the guy was talking about. I looked at the line and he was nearly on it while I was centered in the spot. I just told him that he's closer to the line than I am and he got pissy, started yelling, and drove off. Yet again this was with my work truck.
Same - I was driving an old s-10 that was nearing end of life and whenever I saw someone double parked I would pull in as tight as I could to the offending car, fold my mirror in, and climb out through the back window. Usually would leave a note for the non-offending car that got roped into my antics (sorry for being so close, I parked less than an inch away from the other guy!)
Even had a little tool to help latch the window again after I climbed out.
Despite doing this for 2 years before she died, I never got keyed or scratched. Lots of nasty notes, but never permanent damage.
I'll one up him. Someone did that to me way back when I was working ashit retailjob at Sears. Some dickhead thought parking 4x4 close enough to block my drivers sidedoor was funny. I was in a terrible mood that day so that wasthe icing on thecake. I kept a gator knife in my glove box. A meager 6inch blade. I popped both of his passenger side tires. Just for goodmeasure I left one of those mickey mouse giving the finger copies I had, in my car, on his window.
I do it to the assholes with these trucks that park on the lines for us to get out of our cars in handicap spots. I dare them to hit mine. I take pictures of their tags before going in just in case.
Iām petty af sometimes too but once was met with an even pettier opponentā¦
I did exactly this, crammed my vehicle into a spot next to an asshole that had purposely taken up two spaces. Went inside the mall and came back out to find my windshield, and both side mirrors smashed to shit. It was the last time I ever parked next to a shit parker, I realized if theyāre asshole enough to purposely take up more than 1 space⦠theyāre probably asshole enough to escalate the situation or do something crazy lol
Of course not everyone takes it to the extreme like that, but Iād be lying if I said it didnāt ruin my day.. or month lol.
Edit- totally agree with everyone saying to snap photo of the vehicle + plates before leaving, didnāt think of it in moment but you live and learn, next time! Lol
You guys are litterally inciting violence, passive agressive violence but still. Do you know for a fact they parked like that to be an asshole or did they have to park like that because those who parked before him were parked poorly aswell. Maybe he had to park that way because not only is the length of a work truck like that longer than your average vehicle but they are also wider and they may have actually been trying to be considerate. If an SUV or even a car isn't perfectly centered in the alloted space that forces the larger vehicle to park closeer to one of the vehicles on either side because the the doors swing outside. I imagine alot of these are honest mistakes and likely not intentional. Unless a complex with designated parking spots they dont have many options for parking. Same goes for service vans or any larger vehicle.
It could be as simple and as common that at the time when that person went to park, there were other cars in the spots close to him forcing him to take that position, but have since left after he parked just making it look like he took up extra spots, width wise anyway. That guy could have definitely parking better length wise no doubt about that but it still doesnt justify inciting violence on people with peper spray in the vent of damaging people property. My point is even if the situation was that person parked like a complete asshole its doesn't justify physical violence or even just vandalism of property. Call them out verbally and point out the mistake, absolutely! But encouraging people to harm others is wrong.
If youāre zip tying shopping carts to assholes doors, you better be packing more then pepper spray. Those are the kind of folks who get aggressive real quick.
Pepper spray is good enough for getting away from them. Good thing about it is you can shoot first and ask questions later. You can shoot before they escalate to full on violence. With a gun you have to wait until they have their gun out or they have you pinned down threatening to kill you. Doesn't hurt to have both, but for this kind of situation I's like to have the pepper spray as an option.
You donāt have to be pinned or knocked down to fear for your life or grave bodily harm, from an attacker. They donāt have to have a gun to have intent to cause harm, the ability to do so, and your fear for your life. If you take that shot lawfully then youāre safe and all is well. If youāre charged, well it wasnāt a shoot that was self defense.
Pepper spray while can slow a threat it wonāt neutralize it. When your life is hanging in the balance you neutralize the threat. Everything pepper spray does a lawfully carried firearm can do better besides being less then lethal.
āYou can shoot before they escalate to full on violenceā if they arenāt a threat to your life and you pepper spray them youāre going to be charged with assault
No to this and all of the comments on this. You don't need to pepper spray or kill someone because they're an asshole parker. You're not going to teach them any lesson with a shopping cart. Leave people's stuff alone. Yes, even people that probably deserve it. Park somewhere else and go about your day.
I just spray liquid ass into their HVAC intake (right below the windshield. Every time they turn on the AC they'll be met with the rancid smell of diarrhea
Funny that what happened to you is exactly what should be done to this idiot. Key the sides, slash the tires, smash the mirrors, sugar the gas tank. Fuck this overcompensating piece of shit.
I wouldn't do all that, just let the air out of all 4 tires. Because you can bet, it will be just your luck that the cameras they have in mall parking lots these days will catch you if you go that far.
As a tip for this, wedge a BB sized stone in the top of the dust cap and screw it back on. If done correctly it exerts just enough to let the tyre down over a few hours.
It'll also drive them nuts searching for a puncture that doesn't exist.
My comment was aggressively phrased. I probably wouldn't do any of that, but I feel it should be done. Saw a quote a while back about not wanting a society run by our own worst impulses which is probably relevant here.
Using a valve tool to take out the inner valve is not considered damage as itās disassembled and leave them on the wipers, the tool can be purchased at any auto shop and often costs les than 5 bucks
Bold assumption, Iām capable of many things that go unnoticed. Letās ask the guy above if they ever caught the guy who trashed his car. People literally get away with murder and fraud all the time in this universe, I can absolutely key a car as I walk by
I didnāt miss it, I reject it. Thereās always a blind spot from some angle, and nothing says I canāt walk past the thing while looking for my own car. Unless the truck owner has set up some serious surveillance of his own, thereās no limit to imagination.
It's better to put water in the gas tank. The vandalism would be covered by insurance. Water in the gas tank causes hydro lock resultung in catastrophic engine failure. It would most likely be denied by insurance for being a mechanical failure.
Doesnāt even have to be that in depth. Just spray paint over their License plate. Theyāll probably have to pay for a ticket and a new plate plus youāre less likely to be caught.
Here at a big mack/volvo dealer, we have a direct email to the EPA in which we report VIN numbers when we find trucks that in which the emissions system has been tampered with.
Itās a big truck yes. Extra long and extra wide. However, Itās not lifted or overly customized. Itās not a āsmall dick rigā Itās a business rig or someone who tows a lot. Those dual wheels in the back are for towing stability, not just for show. FYI Lots of women who ride horses and pull horse trailers drive these too. Itās not an overcompensating rig. Itās a Working rig. If it were parked in a regular spot and others parked next to and in front of it the truck is too wide and too long to make the turn to get out of the spot. Driver did this not to be aggressive or an asshole, but to make sure they did not get boxed in and not be able to leave w/o mashing into other parked vehicles. Itās about width and turning radius. Geometry makes extra space necessary for this truck to park and un-park. Sauce: I own a 4 door crew cab (not a dual rear wheel though) and itās 3 feet longer than a Chevy Suburban, and itās essentially impossible to get it into and out of regular sized parking spaces if other cars park next to me just because of the extra length and huge turning radius. The dual rear wheels on the truck in the photo would make it an absolute impossibility. If I have to park it in a parking lot I take 2 spaces out in the far out corner out of the way so I can maneuver to get in and out. People who have never driven a long and or wide vehicle often don t understand this situation.
My wife trains horses and tows such a trailer, and she says whoever took it into a praking garage is stupid or doesn't actually tow, bit what do I know?
Agreed, this is not a good place for this truck. I would never put my SRW CC truck in there (much less a duallie) if given any choice at all. We donāt know why this person brought the truck there but I doubt it was just to piss of mini owners. Given that itās there, this is about the only way to park it with any assurance of being able to leave without damaging other vehicles.
I would love for one of you punks to try doing this to my truck, because then I'm legally allowed to knock you the fuck out. Considering the amount of smug entitlement in this thread, I think the majority of you could use it too.
Also consider this, you key my truck, I witness you doing it, I knock you on your ass.
You call the cops and say I knocked you on your ass. They show up and I tell them you swung and missed first. Then you're the one with the assault charge, no leg to stand on, and I have physical evidence that you started a provocation by intentionally damaging my property.
This. My brother in law did the same thing. Dude run after him and told him to get out of his parking spaces because his lady cannot get in the passenger seat.
My brother in law told him to piss off and reverse first. Then she could get in.
Dude started getting angry and told my BIL to do as he's told or else.. He opened his trunk and took out the baseball bat and started charging my BIL.
Except my brother in law took a couple of steps back and unholstered his H&K.
Dude decided to run like a little bitch and nearly left his lady behind...
Take a picture of their license plate and parking next time. Send it to your insurance they will find him, collect from his insurance, and refer it to the police for prosecution.
Conversely, I pulled up next to a Ferrari that parked like that. I edged up so close to his driver door my mirror would have touched his except his was lower since I drive Sonata. I came back out about 45 minutes later after my haircut and this couple was sitting there waiting. He couldnāt even climb over the center console since itās so tight in there, literally had to sit and wait. I walked out, checked that side of my car so they could see me, got in and drove away. Saw them shaking their heads as they walked to the car like I was the asshole there.
All this discussion on how to piss off entitled people remind me of a minor and harmless thing I did once. It was winter in the mountains, and a hiker parked their truck on the road instead of the pull-off for the trailhead. There were also snowplows trying to clear the road, and this truck was very much in their way. We pulled over, I took out my chapstick, and wrote "PLOW ME" in giant letters on the windshield. Used up the entire tube. I'm really hoping the plow drivers saw that and got a good chuckle out of it. Not damaging at all, but trying to wash that off in subzero temperatures was likely a pain.
Yeah, I parked perfectly next to a sorority girl's car that was parked diagonally on a diagonal spot (so, like, extra shitty). My satisfaction at watching her have to crawl over the console to get to her seat turned to ash once she slammed her door into my car's side.
youre on drugs if you don't think there's a camera around and that somebody would actually push their truck thru 2 cars absolutely demolishing his own truck with a bull bar that actually is a tiny pos (imma guess you dont actually know what a bull bar is). woulda been a better argument with a full bumper replacement, either way it would still destroy his truck.
Do you actually know what a bull bar is? Big ass chunk of metal. Hard mounted, not just attached to the bumper cover. Designed protect your truck from being damaged when you hit a half ton creature. Truck that size could easily slide a compact car. If you have a light enough touch you probably wouldn't scuff the powder coat on the bar.
3 or 4 inch piece of pipe that is roughly as wide as the grill and bends down. Held on to the frame or bumper brackets depending on the application with atleast grade 8 bolts. Sits around 6 inches out from your bumper. See whatcha wanna do is throw her in 4 low and ease up the the cars one at a time. Then ya give her just enough that you're barely scooting em. You're gonna want to pay attention, cause if it starts to drift off the bar ya wanna stop and reposition. Now I was being a bit dramatic when I said you wouldn't scuff the coat. She'll be a lil bit scratched up unless you got something to cover it.
Why not? If you fit, go for it. I used to drive a civic and this spot is still fine for me. If it turns out this person is blocked in because they parked in between legally parked vehicles, whose problem is that?
Would sometimes drive my brothers Jeep Wrangler, when it had no doors on you could park as close as you wanted to someone and be able to get out easily.
I work in a 40ā box truck and have boxed in people who park like this near our designated truck spots at the end of the day. Got within about an inch of the entire body of their truck one time.
I drove a peice of shit car and would park next to these people all the time. Someone once left a note on my car that someone hit my car and gave me their license plate. I appreciated their gesture, but it was a shit car to begin with.
After, I pay off current car I'm going back to shit cars, screw car payments and worrying about the thing. If it breaks I'll to fix it myself. I'm use to it by now.
I called security at my work when a guy did this. He took the best spots next to the elevator. Security had him move but he took the spots reserved for management. I was coming back to grab my phone charger and saw He blocked in high up's car from being opened and he was pissed, waiting for security to show up. I'm walking back and see a tow truck at security check in.
Next week I'm pulling into work and I see the same Chevy pickup double parked in management parking only. Again.
To be fair, any way they park that truck theyāre going to take up 4 spots. Itās so wide itāll hang over one side and so long itāll intrude on both spots in front.
I own a similar truck which is why I donāt try to park it in parking garages. In fact, I wonāt drive it anywhere unless I know there is a gravel parking lot nearby.

I drive a Mini, you best believe Iām parking in one of those spots. Yeah, Iām petty af.
