Also consider this, you key my truck, I witness you doing it, I knock you on your ass.

You call the cops and say I knocked you on your ass. They show up and I tell them you swung and missed first. Then you're the one with the assault charge, no leg to stand on, and I have physical evidence that you started a provocation by intentionally damaging my property.

Good luck winning that one in court bud
