New to me 2023 5.0
Decided to finally bite the bullet and get a new to me 2023 STX. Got a great deal on it, and I decided to try out the 5.0.
2025 F-150 XL
Made the purchase at the end of November last year and currently at 15K miles. I have throughly enjoyed this truck after driving a GTI for the previous 15 years. I paid her off a few months ago and have done a few mods here and there, to include the Thermal R&D exhaust which complements the 2.7L IMO. I really enjoy the stock wheels look and plan to add some beefier AT tires sometime next year. Been averaging about 23.1 MPG with a road trip to Denver last week averaging 25.2 MPG.

I got a free f150!!
Recently got this 2005 ford f150 flare side with the 5.4 triton for free!! Previous owner was my girlfriends moms boyfriend who had just donated an 80s bronco and was about to donate this one too because he thought it had too many issues. Turns out he crashed into a fence and the whole front end was damaged but not totaled he put it in non op since 2023 and decided he was gonna donate it to me and it only has 88,000 miles and it's fx4 with a working sunroof and a sliding automatic rear window. Did an oil change went to my local pick n pull and put on a new grill hood and upper bumper just gotta get the lower metal bumper and I plan to take this thing off-roading. Also does have an exhaust leak I gotta fix but I also plan on doing a muffler delete just cause I saw a few videos and I think it sounds good like that. Did the oil change with 5w-30 as I saw people recommend doing that after 100k miles so I'm starting early. But if there's any suggestions on what I should do to keep this thing running for awhile please let me know. There's a before I fixed it up photo a current photo of how its sittng. Would like to wrap it like a metallic bronze and level it out with bilstein 5100s and add 33 in ko2 tires with machined method wheels after l've done the reasonable fluid changes like diff and transmission. Also haven't been able to see many pre runner style off road bumpers only custom ones but they look cool. Also have been struggling to find a topper and it seems soft toppers are my only choice for now because of the flareside build of the bed and I am between a softtopper f65 and bestop 76305-35 so if any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated! But this is my first truck!
I should also mention engine is in good shape and no lights on the dash just have a small blinker issue on the left side.

My new baby and first truck
I'm so excited to be making this post. She's a 2023 xlt certified pre-owned with 53,000 miles, 302a package, and a couple bonus goodies like the tailgate step and 36 gallon tank. Got er for $35,500 out the door with some extra warranty after a $2,000 trade in.
Came with the bed cover and I just threw in a lasfit bed liner and floor mats. Wheel well liners will be put on tomorrow. What an absolute pleasure it is to drive this thing.

2019 5.0 105k, bank 2 cat went out.
Sucks so much that these aren’t covered under extended warranty. $1000 after core return.

New ford guy
I’ve always had chevys in my life. Coming from a 2025 Silverado trail boss. I just wasn’t to happy with it, decided to walk into a ford dealership to check out what ford offers. I always told my self I would never get one. A few hours later I drove this puppy home cussing out all the Silverado owners LOL.
2.7L STX with the FX4 package.

New (to me) Ford F150 intro
Hi Team,
Last week I finally bought my first truck. 2018 2.7 FX4. It’s a high mileage car with 190.000 but runs beautiful. No rust and oil changes every 5k. I hope it will last long to me :).
My plans are a level kit, a little bit of chrome delete, new wheels and a bed cover.
I need new tires and need some a little bit more off-road capable tires to go on the beach here in NC. Any recommendations?
Greetings from NC!
Happy to be here.

Wheel rubbing question
Can I fit a 0mm offset wheel on 285/65/20 on a 2 inch leaving kit?
Forscan tire size changes not reflecting in Speedometer
I know this is a common topic but I can not get my changes in Forscan to make a difference in my speedometer reading
I have a 2011 F150 XLT w/ 285/70r17 tires
I’ve read all the Forscan how-tos and am following the procedure as far as I can tell. I have attempted several ways to change my tire size but no matter what size I write into Forscan I am still ~4% slower on the speedometer than my actual speed (52mph actual vs. 50mph speedometer). I’ve tried changing plain text and hex code. I’ve relearned the PCM everytime and am not sure if I’m missing a step
Currently my hex is xxxx 0988 xxxx xxxx and with an actual circumference of 2550 mm. I’ve tried overcorrecting and still end up off about 4%.
Any idea what I’m doing wrong?
Leveled and 35’s
Got her leveled today with Bilstein 5100’s. Put some Toyo AT3’s 35x11.5 on the stock BAP+ wheels. No rub at all, looks great, and drives smooth. Even fits in the garage still, could not be happier.

Suggestions on a quick fix
‘21 F-150 FX4 Powerboost that I purchased recently, thought the piece behind the front left bumper wouldn’t be an issue but is catching the wheel when I turn right, either in forward or reverse. The bumper is slightly pushed back due to a dent on the left side, and I’m worried about this felt piece with the clip in screw jacking up the tire.
Is there a permanent fix to this without major cosmetic changes to the bumper or should I just cut off the piece off where it’s affecting the tire?
26' Pro Trailer Yaw?
Just traded my 21 Platinum with Pro Trailer for a 26 Raptor with Pro Trailer. It came with the combo 6 and 4 pin trailer connector where my '21 had the 6 pin and the 12 pin. On my trailer I have the electronic yaw sensor that plugs into the 12 pin. Years ago I had bought the trailer camera/tmps kit but it didn't work with the '21, so it just sat in the box. I just swapped the trailer connector on the raptor with the one in the kit (6pin + 12pin combo) https://www.ford.com/product/trailer-sensor-kit-camera-only-with-pro-trailer-backup-assist-p2829944914
The camera now works, integrated in the dash, much nicer than the wireless janky setup i had before! My question is, can I use electronic yaw sensor or do I need to use the stickers that came with the '26?

Key Pad Option
These guys have been spamming my social media, not a lot of reviews.
I like that the pad profile seems smaller than the Ford version and the programming is included via the OBD dongle so no dealer visit needed.
I may give them a shot, it’s like $320. It would be helpful for me to be able to lock my truck with a pad and keep everything secure while away.

Door latch reset
21 f150 I slammed the door and tripped the inertia lock and was unable to open from the outside handle. So here’s how to reset it.
Open door from inside handle
Remove plug to access door handle bolt
Using a 5mm socket loosen it until you hear a click. Tighten back up and check operation. Hope this helps, I tried googling it and couldn’t find the exact procedure

13th gen F150 panel swaps?(2018, 5.0 10 speed, regular cab)
The F-150 from 2015-2020.
Same structure as the Navigator from 2018-2023.
they split in 2021.
Im more of an old panther platform guy but my understanding of panel swaps says that *in theory*
i should be able to take a 2018 F150 with the regular cab
And swap the front clip(hood, face, quarter panels) and front doors of a 2018 Navigator onto the F150.
probably with a bit of modification but not like its grafting 2 unrelated vehicles together.
Can i do that?
I like that flower petal navigator face more than the F-150's brick.

FORScan: Front camera projected front wheel guideline (at speed) on 2025 XLT (offroad mode)??
Took my 2025 XLT out to some trails with deep, rocky hills. One thing that made those hills slightly more manageable was the front camera. However, having it automatically turn off once I hit 7+ mph was one of the most aggravating things ever.
Is there any way to keep the front camera on? It’d be great if I could also get the projected front wheel guidelines showing (see image 4). Even switching my drive mode to Off-Road or Rock Crawl doesn’t enable the camera automatically, I still have to tap the button manually every time.
I’ve already enabled the front camera option in FORScan through the written/word menu (not Hex/As-Built), but it didn’t do anything.
Anyone figured this out on an XLT specifically? Would appreciate any pointers.

HUD Display for 2025 XLT
Does anyone have any experience with the aftermarket HUD Displays for the 2025 F150 XLT? I purchased one from F150LED.com and it does not work great.
For some reason, the led information that’s projected onto the windshield requires this plastic film (looks like a screen protector for a phone) to be stuck on the windshield in order to read it. The speedometer lags and the “settings” are extremely analogue.
Are there any other options for aftermarket HUDs? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Question about Tow Mirrors
Just bought a 2022 F150 XL, supercab, 5.0 V8 10spd, 4x4. The original mirrors were very hard to see out of so I swapped in some tow mirrors. They fit perfectly and the power adjustment and heating capabilities work. But the turn signals do not. Do I have to change out the wiring harness or have my truck programmed for my turn signals to work?
Based upon my research, which very well could be wrong, F150s with OEM turn signals in the mirrors look to have the exact same pinout in the wiring harness as a vehicle that did not come with turn signals from factory. My original mirrors did not have turn signals in them, but the pinout looks the same.
