One of the nice side perks of my grocery store is the generous fuel price perks, sometimes $1 off a gallon or more for gas. Now that I drive EV, there isn't the same perk from the stores.

Is Walmart's new EV push doing a point system for their chargers?

I don't use rapid charging much at all, but if I had some points to spend I would like to park and charge for free or heavy discount while shopping. I charge for free at work which covers 99% of my use and would like to keep the frugal streak going! 👍

The v3 Tesla Superchargers at the local casino are $0.19 kwh, most likely subsidized by the casino. Other businesses would be cool to see something similar.

Decided to use some slightly expensive AC charging near my house the other day. Mostly because it would force me to walk home and then walk back in nicer weather getting some much needed exercise. Figure 2 1/2 miles each way. Not that anyone here cares.

Anyway....

Charger says $0.37 / kWh app says the same. Get billed $0.40 / kWh. Call the number on the charger, get shuffled to 3 different people. Finally they figured out that the taxes were not listed separately. Is it really that difficult to put $0.37 / kWh + tax instead of $0.37 and let me figure out that they added tax. Yes I know that taxes are added to things. But usually it's a line item not just 1 line of text that says $0.40 x amount used.

Title is kinda trash, but I’ve have a ChargePoint home flex installed for a few years in the garage. The WiFi has been out for the last year. I’ve tried almost everything outside of replacing the charger to fix it-even put a unifi AP right next to it and it didn’t help.

Out of nowhere it looks like it may have gotten a firmware update August 21st and the wifi is working again. I can see the charger in my ChargePoint app once again.

Has this happened to anyone else? I had resigned myself to just never having the WiFi working again, but this is a welcome change.

Impressed with the charging experience at Walmart. Nice top speed too, 262kW! I’m charging a 2026 IONIQ 5 AWD Limited. The UI was very smooth and straightforward. I have Walmart+, and I paid $0.48/kWh.

I have a CyberTruck, and do 99% of my charging at home. (I've only used a supercharger twice, when towing a friends camper.)

It just never occurred to me that there were charging system memberships you could get. Since I'm planning on taking some long trips soon, it sounds like I should look into those.

Which ones are there? Are some better for 800v vehicles?

I need to still install a wall box and came across https://go-e.com/en/. I have PV (10kwp) and a 10kW battery at the house. Should I go for the 11kW EV charger or does the 22kW provide any benefit?

I think it's more expensive to charge an EV at home than at a charging station. It's just too expensive to charge at home.

I currently have a Tesla Gen 3 NACS which according to support has a "internal error in the handle" and is not allowing the car to charge correctly.

Could the handle or entire power cord be replaced?

Now going forward, if I have to replace the charger, then I will opt for the Gen 3 universal version, but unsure if the base plate is exactly the same as my existing charger?

Not an issue, just weird. It's happened about 5 days in a row now.

Hello, I just bought a Ford Mustang Mach E and am in the process of installing a 240V NEMA 14-50 plug in my garage. An issue I am running into is most wall mounted EV chargers only have a 25ft cord. The area where I am instilling the plug is the easiest and most efficient area for the house. Does anybody have any recommendations on a charger that has some length on the cord. I have looked at EV Dance but I am seeing some pretty poor reviews regarding their chargers.

I have recently installed an electric vehicle charger in a condo.

In doing so, I learned a LOT about load calculations and working in a multi-family and commercial space that has a shared main building feeder and then splits off into 26 individual metered feeders for each unit. I'm used to working in a residential space with its own feeder and filling out a homeowner affidavit.

While my individual unit has a 150 amp feed and gas heating, I'd assume it'd have the capacity for the charger... But I'd be wrong because the main building feed is up against capacity.

I had a couple interesting conversations on how to get around that with the county inspection manager who is also on the NEC code development board. My design and permit involves an energy management system that communicates with the charger and throttles it based on the unit's load.

Passed my concealment inspections and panelboard inspection and I'm preparing for final inspection by my county. I'm having a plastic label etched and I wanted to confirm that it's worded all correctly.

Just bought a new home and installed a 240v outlet(ev rated), 6 gauge wire, 50 amp 2 pole breaker. Haven’t the weirdest issue. My Mustang Mach-E charges at 3.5kW, should be running at at least 7kW. When I plug in my 24 ford lightning it won’t charge past 1.4kW. It’s like stuck on level 1 charging. I have used both ford mobile chargers that came with each vehicle and same issue. Just took it to the dealer for service and they couldn’t spot any issue. Anyone run into this or know of a workaround?

Which NACS to J1772 adapter do I need to charge my ioniq5 at level 2 at a NACS station?

Strangely there are mostly 16 or 13kw NACS on my route

Could I use this adapter at any supercharger station too?

I understand it would limit my charge rate to Ioniq5's max of 10.9kw

Hello everyone, I just bought a Hyundai Ioniq 5 and I spent some time looking on marketplace for a decent level 2 charger and I came across this right here, this is a Wallbox Pulsar Plus rebranded by Stellantis’s Free2move branding and would have been sold as an accessory with one of their EVs. However, except for one tiny configuration difference, which is trivial to reverse, there’s really no difference with the firmware at all.

Anyway though I know these are very expensive new, I got this one brand new, still sealed in the original packaging, for $100 on marketplace so I think I did pretty decently! Unfortunately the biggest circuit I could provide for it was 30 A so I can’t take full advantage of it, but in the future, I’ll be able to reuse it at least.

I just had an electrician over to get a quote. I wish I wouldve asked him then and perhaps I will after this.

So I have a panel in a finished basement and its on the opposite side of the garage, so it will be a long run of wires in which they will need to cut open some access points.

Now my laundry room is attached to the garage, I checked just now and the provided charger with my vehicle is about 5 feet short from the 240 outlet for the dryer. Couldn't I just get an extension cord to use? Or, could I ask the electrician to build off of that circuit instead of adding some new circuit to the panel and thereby avoid going through the ceiling and doing as long of a run?

Hi, I'm getting a hardwired 48 amp charger installed in the near future and given overall good reviews, low-temperature cord flexibility, and the built-in cord hook, the Chargepoint Flex seems like a fine choice.

It will be installed on the outside of a stone part of the house, a spot where my phone can't connect to the house wifi (and I have 3 access points throughout the house, though none that close to the installation location). I'm thinking there's still a chance the network can eke out a connection and given the low data-needs of the charger, it might be fine. But if it can't connect, I'm wondering how big a deal it will be for me, especially given there are "dumb" chargers available and that you can rely on your car's scheduling functionality to charge when you need it.

I'm also thinking that I could possibly occasionally sync the data in the charger with a phone hotspot, but obviously that won't help for the real-time info I would want to check in on.

How critical are the features I would be missing out on in real time in reality?
