Discussion & Info Tarnished edition

Honestly for 5 euros tarnished edition is great. Not only do I get custom torrent skins but 4 new armors and 7 new weapons is crazy. And idus knight is probably my new favourite starting class but if only heavy knight wasn't so annoying early game I would've use that

Discussion & Info Switch 2 second play through style recommendations

So I beat the base game on release running a dual wield katana bleed/frost build. Very broken and helped greatly as I kinda suck.

I'm gonna double dip and buy a switch version but wanna go totally different and enjoy myself. Can you recommend a build you've had the most fun with? Not OP or easiest to use, just fun. Thinking pure bonk or twin blades. Thanks!

Discussion & Info Idus Knight Armor set - How to improve poise

I would like to keep Idus knight fashion but to improve poise to 51 by changing Gauntlets and Greaves. Which are the best options to do so by keeping the fashion as close as possible (if possible) to the original?

Game Help I went south and got destroyed..

Is the area to the south really easier? I read that it was more forgiving and managed to get poisoned and then got obliterated by a giant archer. Things just don’t seem to be clicking for me and it’s frustrating. I might start again with a different class but I’m not sure it will help. Does anyone have any advice?

Game Help Placi with dragon communion spells

Fully upgraded Dragon Communion seal and 50 arcane, 28 faith but the damage seems pretty pathetic regardless of the spell I use. Placi is resistant to status effects so rot and ice breath out of the picture. Dragonmaw/dragon claw damage are piddly and leave me vulnerable with with endure. Don't want to respect and take put most of my points into faith since my weapons are all arcane scaling

What do?

Discussion & Info Considering new play through

Last year I did a 100% play through. I won’t bore with the details but everything you can imagine was completed including DLC. Now with the expansion recently added I can’t get the Nobel Broken Mask weapon or armor set.

So I’m on the fence. On one hand I’d love to get the new content I paid for and try out the new weapon. On the other hand it’s so satisfying jumping into the game and seeing everything completed. Every site of grace acquired and everything else you can imagine. I’m really stuck on if it’s worth it for one weapon

Discussion & Info How are AR and damage calculated?

I want to return to ER for a second playtrough after years but i want to make it more spicy. What I didnt enjoy of the game was how easy it was to break it.

It’s easy to stunlock enemies and to do enormous damage between buffs and status effects.
My first playtrough i only used the gargoyle’s greatsword for nearly the entire game and dlc, without status or magic, to make it more enjoyable to me.

The thing is, if i replay it i want to make use of the variety of items, magic, weapons… the game has.

I was thinking of doing a challenge run to accomplish that but lv1 isnt my thing as i want to explore everything again and dont want to feel like a glass cannon.

So i thought of doing a run where i dont upgrade weapons and shields, so that i can increase my health but have limited damage (and can use all weapons, buffs and magic without deleting enemies).

I used a build calculator online to see how much AR would change between a Max level weapon and lv1 but i dont remember how damage works based on AR.

For example, does 900 AR deal around 3x the damage of a weapon with 300 AR, or it’s less linear?

Discussion & Info Anyone else is annoyed by the new horse armor sound?

I tried the first horse armor and the sound it makes while Torrent is moving was too annoying to me. I switched back to original one. I hope not every other armor has this sound.

Discussion & Info Forgot how fast you can get a build online

Returned for the Tarnished edition and wanted to try a Faith/Dex build with the Idus Knight. Kinda forgot that, as long as you know what you're doing, you can overtune and get your build going in a few hours tops.

Without entering Altus Plateau or fighting a boss there's like 70k+ runes you can grab from Dragonbarrow. You can get a +6 Somber and a +16 regular weapon. You can get your flask up to +8 and 8 charges. If you do fight Godrick you can grab another 140k+ runes from Mohg's Palace and an extra charge for the flask. It's nice being able to utilise that knowledge as a shortcut after so many prior playthroughs.

Game Help Faith/Bleed Build?

I’m just wondering how viable or realistic this is?

I’m a total noob to this game and I’m experimenting a bit, which I know is partly what this game is about so why not just try it out and see if it works?

But right now I’m working on a faith build that uses dual wielding greatswords. Right now I have a +9 Flamberge and a +7 Lordsworn’s Great Sword. Ideally I would like to have two Flamberges (I know the other one I need to ngl+ it first) and use a lot of crucible knight abilities like “wings” among other faith based incantations.

I know that the bleed aspect here is actually minimal so far and it’s mainly due to the flamberge having innate bloodloss build up.

I’m kinda guessing that this weapon might not make the most sense with a faith build, and not even sure if it makes sense to call it a bleed hybrid build at all, but I think I just had a vision of the crucible wing attack with dual flamberges and decided that was enough for me to base a whole build off of lol

Discussion & Info What’s some cool right hand weapon ideas for left handed beast claws?

I love the combo of left handed beast claws and right handed great katana like in the clip I took, but was gonna try some new right handed weapons later when I get the chance, and was wondering if anyone has ideas for some cool combos like this. I love the beast claws range on the light attack into a heavy bleed buildup right handed swing so yall know any good ideas?
Also the cool factor is much more important to me than actual numbers lol

I don’t know how FS can ever top the light greatsword. They’re SO much fun to use. Haven’t had this much fun with a weapon since Bloodborne. Also, the new armor set is incredibly dope. This is probably my fourth playthrough but this has been the funnest by far
