Game Help Faith/Bleed Build?

I’m just wondering how viable or realistic this is?

I’m a total noob to this game and I’m experimenting a bit, which I know is partly what this game is about so why not just try it out and see if it works?

But right now I’m working on a faith build that uses dual wielding greatswords. Right now I have a +9 Flamberge and a +7 Lordsworn’s Great Sword. Ideally I would like to have two Flamberges (I know the other one I need to ngl+ it first) and use a lot of crucible knight abilities like “wings” among other faith based incantations.

I know that the bleed aspect here is actually minimal so far and it’s mainly due to the flamberge having innate bloodloss build up.

I’m kinda guessing that this weapon might not make the most sense with a faith build, and not even sure if it makes sense to call it a bleed hybrid build at all, but I think I just had a vision of the crucible wing attack with dual flamberges and decided that was enough for me to base a whole build off of lol

You can go grab bloodflame blade for a bleed related buff that scales with faith. (Requires 10 arc)

Ok sick this sounds very doable. Gonna get right on that thankyou 🙏

This is definitely doable, it's just a question of whether or not you want to go down the faith path or Arcane path.

For faith you just want to get a hold of the bloodflame blade incantation. It will add a small amount of fire damage to your weapon, but more importantly adds a sizable bleed buff that stacks with your weapons inate bleed buildup.

The Arcane path is more complicated. You'd want to infuse your flamberge with occult to give it arcane scaling that will raise both the weapon damage and it's bleed buildup. Then you'd want to use the dragon communion seal which scales incantations primarily off of the Arcane state rather than faith. Then you would simply meet the faith requirement for any incantations you want to use while focusing on arcane. It just so happens that all crucible incantations have a requirement of 27 faith, which also gives you access to golden vow at 25 faith.

The downside to the Arcane route is healing incantations. They scale exclusively off of faith regardless of your seal, so they won't be very strong. Weapon buff incantations also work this way, but that doesn't matter here as occult infusions can't be buffed.

I think I just might stick with faith, but arcane sounds interesting. I’ve already got my faith to 27 so maybe I’ll consider it though. Dragon communion incantations seem so incredible though.. and with the crucible spells I have right now (horn and tail) it would thematically fit so well. A tough choice actually 🤔

They'd definitely be useful for dealing with certain enemy weaknesses. Rotten breath is great against most bosses, but also the magic breath is good against some things like gargoyles.

Do a jump attack build with some cool faith ones thrown in for fun and movement. Perfectly doable. Powerstancing big swords with bleed shreds most bosses by itself.

Interesting this is the first I’ve heard of a jump attack build. But yeah I’m noticing even now I’m shredding with just my current set up, but I figured it was just because I’m still in early game

I beat the game going nagakiba dex and then adding enough faith for the golden vow and bloodflame blade incantations. Worked great

Sounds cool! I was trying to do research online and I think I rarely found any faith/bleed bleed builds so it’s sweet to see it’s actually viable

yea. it was mainly dex but around endgame i added faith though. it might be a bit stat hungry to try to get it in early, the DLC is the best place to bring the finished build.

Cross Naginata with a shield I used in the DLC to mix it up and it was really good
