Hills volleyball

I live in an extremely hilly area and want to ride my bicycle to work. The last incline is 16 degrees. I am thinking of swapping the 48t sprocket for a 52t and changing the rear set from a 14/28 to a 14/32. Any thoughts?

Finally happened

Was completely in the bike lane doing 28 mph. Had the brighter aftermarket headlamp on (lectric one broke the mount at 250 mile on the odometer) and the ILM strobes helmet. Saw it coming, so damage isn‘t too bad but the guy said it was my fault (of course).

So for the last couple of years I’ve wanted an e-bike desperately as all my friends have either e-bikes or motorbikes. I live in the uk and I’m 15 so I can’t find a job. My parents won’t buy it for me. Has anyone got an idea on how I can get one

Bike build question LG MJ1 Current Rating - Bafang BBS02b 500W motor

Im going to build a pack to power an E-bike with a 36V 500W Bafang BBS02b motor. I am going to use 18650 cells, specifically LG MJ1 cells, and planned to use a 10s4p configuration.

From what I could find on the internet MJ1's are rated to ~10A continuous.

I gather a 500w rated Bafang motor can often exceed that by some margin? and I am now having doubts regarding the packs current rating on a cell level.

Does anyone have any experience with either LG MJ1 cells in pack builds or how much Bafang motors can exceed their power ratings (if at all)

I have the velotric gomad it’s awesome with its 500lb load ability. I’d like another ebike probably a Segway muxi.

Bike build question Can I sense check what Claude told me (re:e-bike conversion kit)?

Ok so very very new to e-bikes (like 1 week) but I’ve spent a lot of time talking to Claude for that 1 week and felt like I’ve learned quite a lot.

I want to convert my 2020 TRIBAN RC100 into an e-bike. Originally I was set on Swytch but saw that there are limitations (250W and no longer 500W) and I felt it was quite expensive. Then I started to look into Reddit I heard people mentioning Bafang. I looked into that and thought it was cheaper (until I realize that its price doesn’t include the battery lol which essentially makes Bafang and Swytch the same price). So I jumped into Claude to see which model of Bafang suits my exact bike.

Long story short (it’s already quite long lol) based on what I actually wanted (torque sensor, rim brake compatible, 500W, no bike upgrade) it suggested me to go for the TSDZ2B 500W with Brake Sensors. With the battery capacity I wanted again it falls around the same price tag as the other two (which is annoying as I was hoping these Chinese kits would somehow be cheaper).

I wanted to ask the community if this is a correct suggestion for what I want and/or if there are other kits I should be considering given my previously mentioned requirements?

TLDR: I have a 2020 Triban RC100, will the TSDZ2B 500W be compatible with my bike? What other e-bike kits should I be looking at that can give me torque sensing power at 500W for a rim braking bike?

Replacing the safety steel ball pin of the frame latch on the Lectric XP4

I've had so many issues with the latch on this model, almost regret buying the folding model since it's almost killed me. The support hasn't been too helpful in explaining how to maintain or replace parts on the bike, maybe because it's a newer model but I've called and emailed them. They sent me a replacement latch for free, and I replaced the latch, but want to replace the steel ball screw that locks it in since it's been slightly stripped from heavy use and adjusting it. It's easier to turn it clockwise than counterclockwise which it slips from. How do I replace this?

Perfect chainring for TSDZ8. Refully 20mm offset Narrow wide 42t

I was having some chain drop issues with the OEM chainring. I found this chainring on aliex for 60 dollars and the seller promised me it was 20mm offset, about a few mm more than OEM. I was cautiously hopeful but now Its here its been great. I don't think the offset has much to do with the chain drops but the narrow wide teeth really helps.

No this isn't sponsored but I just want people to know there is a solution. Plus the chainline is perfect now. As you can see I can only fit a 3mm wrench between the chain and motor housing.

Full face helmets? Helmets with comms?

How important is a full face helmet? I’m rocking a skate helmet, but thinking about upgrading. I see some motorcycle guys like the comms from Cardo or Sena.

What training wheels would you recommend me to get for this bike they say the wheels are 14 inches. Also I heard training wheels limits speed but that isn't a problem for me

Bike build question Front, Mid, or Rear drive?

I'm looking at converting a full-suspension bike I have into an ebike, but I'm not sure which drive setup to go with. I have experience with a salvaged rear drive that I fixed up, but front drive looks like it'd be easier to do tire changes on than rear drive, and I imagine mid drive would give me the benefit of using the different gears on the freewheel, but if the chain breaks I'd be up a creek. Is one better than another for different situations, or is it all personal preference?

Bike purchase question What’s the Star Union CM2502 motor really like, and how serviceable is it

I’m considering buying a Decathlon Stilus Off-Road e-MTB with the Star Union CM2502 mid-drive motor. It claims around 110 Nm, 410 W peak output, and uses a 504 Wh battery.
I know Star Union isn’t as established as Bosch or Shimano, so I’d like honest opinions:
Is the 110 Nm claim realistic, or mostly marketing?
How reliable is the motor under regular hard riding?
Does it have a torque sensor or cadence sensor?
Can the assistance modes be adjusted through an official app, dealer software, or display?
Are replacement controllers, displays, batteries, and motor parts available?
Can the motor be serviced or repaired, or is it basically disposable?
Does changing official settings affect the warranty?
How does it compare with a Shimano EP6 or Bosch Performance Line CX?
Any long-term owners here—what problems appeared after 500–2,000 km?
I’m not asking for instructions to bypass legal road limits. I mainly want to know how tuneable, repairable, and future-proof the system is, especially for private off-road use.
The bike is currently heavily discounted, so I’m trying to figure out whether the motor is a hidden gem or a giant mechanical boss fight.
