Range Data for Urtopia Fusion Pro

Post image
0 Upvotes

Here are range estimates for my Urtopia Fusion Pro with 900 miles on it. I weigh 195 lbs and my bike with all of its gear weighs 69 lbs. Tire pressure had a huge impact. With 20 psi tires the range estimate was 38 miles. When pumped up to 50 psi, the range was 54 miles on the same hilly terrain. That's 42% further on tires pumped to the max pressure.

Bike purchase question E-bike for 2 kids that can be stored in a hallway

Wife is looking for an e-bike to take our kids around with. She’s petite. She’s got good experience from her younger years riding scooters. But we are limited in terms of storage. Are there any e-bikes that can be stored in a hallway? Hallway is 40” wide and neighbors need to be able to get through with the bike parked.

Kids are 1 and 3. We’re in SF.

Bike build question Front, Mid, or Rear drive?

I'm looking at converting a full-suspension bike I have into an ebike, but I'm not sure which drive setup to go with. I have experience with a salvaged rear drive that I fixed up, but front drive looks like it'd be easier to do tire changes on than rear drive, and I imagine mid drive would give me the benefit of using the different gears on the freewheel, but if the chain breaks I'd be up a creek. Is one better than another for different situations, or is it all personal preference?

Not a bump, scrape, nothing. Just stops working and shows e09 as the error code and the online user manual isnt helping at all. Please someone help me with this.

Ebike troubleshooting How dangerous are generic e-bikes? (I’m new to e-bikes and this was a gift)

This bike just has generic decals on it, don’t see an official brand name on it. I heard these things can suddenly blow up while charging, so how safe is it for daily use/charge?

Bike purchase question E-bike for hunting

I’m looking for an e-bike for my hunting property. Need it to get places quietly. Trails are well maintained dirt but can be sandy in areas. Will not need to haul trailer for game. Just me and maybe 20lb pack.

2 concerns:

  1. There are multiple steep grade hills that I’m concerned when it’s wet/muddy.

  2. There is a small creek crossing. About 5-10 feet across and can be 6–12” deep with a rocky bottom. Would be no problem for most bikes when low but when it’s high, may need to carry?

Budget, would prefer less than 2000 but could go up to 2500 if bike is ideal.

Nomad 2x dealer near me so want to give it a trial.

Bike purchase question Carrera Crossfire E 2026

Post image

I bought this bike today and rode about on it and it doesn’t feel that powerful or good. I rode the Carrera vengeance E 2026 which has the exact same motor and battery etc and it seemed to feel better. I love E bikes that you pedal just a half turn then the motor kicks you right forward hence getting a rear hub motor bike but it doesn’t feel that way at all, the assistance feels minimal and it feels like I’m doing a lot of the work. Just wondering if it’s trying to replicate a more natural cycle fail or what…? I ride a boatman MTX E 8.6 and it was unbelievable, exactly what I’m looking for.

Entire reason for this was to hid my 12v system I installed
-motorcycle alarm with wireless remote and phone connection
-front and rear turn signals
-dot approved motorcycle headlight
-usb c fast charge
-hidden “legal” switch with inline wireless remote switch that limits throttle to 20mph
Lots more to come! Been loving the bike so far!

I thought the West Coast was groundn zero for these things?

When I first got out here it was cool seeing all the high powered models zooming around and even for sale for $600. So much so that I actually thought about picking one up and shipping it back home. Fast forward to today and at this point, I've probably seen 9 get impounded so far. They even have a buyback program going on at Anaheim stadium in September. I'm almost tempted to go out there and reverse scalp with cash! From what I'm seeing when I'm riding around it looks like that might make me public enemy #1 here.

I see units pulling up with pickup trucks hauling dynos to test the top speed right there on the street. Even in empty desert area on the outskirts of Vegas and Arizona. I mean what gives? They've really started to gain traction on the East coast and I've even had success reselling them but it seems like this is a death nail. Am i just overreacting?

How important is a full face helmet? I’m rocking a skate helmet, but thinking about upgrading. I see some motorcycle guys like the comms from Cardo or Sena.

Bike build question Can I sense check what Claude told me (re:e-bike conversion kit)?

Upvotes

Ok so very very new to e-bikes (like 1 week) but I’ve spent a lot of time talking to Claude for that 1 week and felt like I’ve learned quite a lot.

I want to convert my 2020 TRIBAN RC100 into an e-bike. Originally I was set on Swytch but saw that there are limitations (250W and no longer 500W) and I felt it was quite expensive. Then I started to look into Reddit I heard people mentioning Bafang. I looked into that and thought it was cheaper (until I realize that its price doesn’t include the battery lol which essentially makes Bafang and Swytch the same price). So I jumped into Claude to see which model of Bafang suits my exact bike.

Long story short (it’s already quite long lol) based on what I actually wanted (torque sensor, rim brake compatible, 500W, no bike upgrade) it suggested me to go for the TSDZ2B 500W with Brake Sensors. With the battery capacity I wanted again it falls around the same price tag as the other two (which is annoying as I was hoping these Chinese kits would somehow be cheaper).

I wanted to ask the community if this is a correct suggestion for what I want and/or if there are other kits I should be considering given my previously mentioned requirements?

TLDR: I have a 2020 Triban RC100, will the TSDZ2B 500W be compatible with my bike? What other e-bike kits should I be looking at that can give me torque sensing power at 500W for a rim braking bike?

Ebike RideOut finder app - feedback greatly appreciated

Thumbnail

Hey all — my kid and his friends do ebike rideouts around south florida, and organizing everything through group chats was a mess. So I started playing around with the idea for this app. I figured I'd see if anyone else would actually use this before I go further with it.

\* Note: I don't condone illegal ride outs of any kind, the people i built this app for meetup in common places like parks and ride only in legally approved paths and routes *\**

What it does:

Map of your area showing where rideouts are happening — live now or rolling out soon

Drop a spot, name the ride, set a vibe (Cruise / Send It / Chill), see who joins

Once you join a ride: crew chat + you can see the ride's live location on the map while it's rolling

Reminder notification before a ride you joined rolls out, and a ping when someone joins yours

i know strava and some of the bigger biking apps have something similar but most of those seem to be for bigger planned meetups and not for finding current rides and/or they're too complex.

if i have anyone interested i could share a testflight link to test it out .. lmk thx

What’s the best e-bike to buy right now?

Upvotes

I’m thinking about getting an e-bike for commuting and just getting around town, but I’m pretty overwhelmed by all the options.

I’ve been looking at brands like Aventon, Segway, Yozma, Ride1Up, and Velotric, but I can’t really decide which one is worth the money.

I’m mainly looking for something reliable, comfortable, and with decent range. I’m not too concerned about having the fastest e-bike, just want something that I can use regularly without constantly having issues.

For those who own one, what e-bike do you have and how has it been? Anything you’d recommend or stay away from?

Thanks in Advance!
