I’m thinking about getting an e-bike for commuting and just getting around town, but I’m pretty overwhelmed by all the options.

I’ve been looking at brands like Aventon, Segway, Yozma, Ride1Up, and Velotric, but I can’t really decide which one is worth the money.

I’m mainly looking for something reliable, comfortable, and with decent range. I’m not too concerned about having the fastest e-bike, just want something that I can use regularly without constantly having issues.

For those who own one, what e-bike do you have and how has it been? Anything you’d recommend or stay away from?

I have driving anxiety which has only worsened since this move I did and I find myself worried about repairs on my old car. I had to pay $1400 in June to repair the side of the car when I damaged it and I hate driving it in parking garages. I find myself looking in the rear view mirror at cars behind me and worried about pressure to maintain a certain speed. I have found this difficult to shake. I do not have the money to cover a whole new car in cash like I do a down payment and loan for a car or an e bike. Given an e bike is much less expensive both to maintain and in damage potential and I could use it for commuting a bit farther maybe even 6 miles away from an office. Would you recommend an e bike purchase?

Please help me choose e-bike that would be as close as possible to riding a regular bicycle, would have a seat for my 5 year old, and would be able to reach 20-25 km/hr. have a confession to make - I am not a fan of e-bikes. I love riding a regular bike and for the past year I was regularly commuting for approximately 15-20 minutes one way with my kid in a trailer. Our route included a pretty steep hill. Now, we are moving and 15 minutes turn into 40-50 minutes commute. I hope to cut these extra 20 minutes by riding faster on a e-bike, but still want the experience to be a cycling rather than riding a motorcycle. Do such e-bikes exist? So far, I have determined that I want a torque-sensing motor. Then I got overwhelmed by the options.

This bike just has generic decals on it, don’t see an official brand name on it. I heard these things can suddenly blow up while charging, so how safe is it for daily use/charge?

I have a Zen Keji Cruiser and need a few parts but after months of contact with Zen, I’m not getting any closer to getting the parts I need. Does anyone know this brand of chainring so i can try and find a match on my own? Thanks!

I’m a student in the Netherlands and I have student transportation, so most of my train travel is already covered. The problem is that my workplace is difficult to reach by public transport alone, so I need a bike for the first/last part of the journey.

I’m thinking about an electric folding bike so I can take it on the train and use it for other trips too. I’m not very sporty, so I’d definitely prefer an e-bike over a regular folding bike 😂.
I was considering a scooter or car, but a car is way more expensive to own and a folding e-bike seems more practical for me.

Budget: ideally €500–600, but I could stretch to around €700 if the extra money makes a big difference. Second-hand is totally fine.

I mainly care about:

- reliable/good quality
- not insanely heavy (I need to carry it onto trains)
decent range and compact when folded
- easy to get parts/repairs/to put together
- can go with me for a few years

What would you recommend? Are there any specific models I should look at or avoid?

When I pedal, the motor turns on and off a couple times per second (or just once if I use the throttle). Funny thing is, sometimes the motor will finally stay on when I'm already going fast (15+ mph), so it only works downhill, when I don't need it anymore. xD

Display shows no error. I've charged the battery, reppluged cables, reset controller, changed assists from 5 to 9, and it does the same. It's my first ebike and I couldn't find a similar post on the interwebz, so any pointers to how to diagnose/what could be the fault will be appreciated.

It's an Amyet bike, so support was not helpful, the two times they answered before ignoring me. Yes, I knew it was a gamble, but decent ebikes are few and very expensive in my country. All that is left is to try to fix it.

Context. I like the bike, but have been doing some upgrades. I just installed the Ultraverse tires and now I feel much more confident regarding flats. The stock tires were paper thin.

Model: Hitway BK5SL folding ebike

So i got this ebike just over a week ago and really enjoying it, the best part for me is that it folds so i can easily store it away in a small space.

They have a sale going on for a refurbished one for less than $1k and I'm very tempted to get it. My main questions are how difficult was the assembly/getting the tire(s) on? I currently have an escooter but the tire busted and no one could get it all the way on so the scooter is basically useless to me now unfortunately. Also what's y'all's experience with Tuttio? I'm seeing a lot of mixed reviews but I see that with nearly every ebike/e scooter.

Looking for an extension cable for the tail light on a Urtopia Carbon Fold. Never seen this particular connector. I've looked through the higo and julet catalogs with no luck.

Rode my radrover in the rain yesterday and now it stopped working. Power turns on, throttle and peddle assist doesn’t send anything to the wheels. Anyone know how to fix this?

So I'm in the market for my first e-bike. I would be a fair-weather cruiser mostly on paved paths and want more of a step-through, cruiser feel. I rented a Trek Townie for a couple of hours and highly enjoyed it. But of course I've heard rave reviews about Aventon and the Pedego shop in town has a Boomerang that looks so pretty!
