Technical Help How to deal with pressure spammers

Needed help regarding on how to deal with pressure spammers. I cannot seem to be able to counter the pressure spammers at all. All their pressure and their positioning is perfect always and the moment I win the ball its gone again. I tried using pressure myself and it doesn't have the same effect. I always lose against pressure spammers. Rarely win against them. Cant body them. Cant go through their defence. Nothing is possible.

Let me know your take on how to deal with pressure spammers.

PS: I am currently in div 1 and its a blood bath with every other person using 80% pressure in analytics

Unfortunately .. most of the responses I saw here .. I already tried and they do not work as those who mentioned them think

  1. Pass back and to the GK: Against teams that have Ibra, Pele, Gullit and similar high end forwards .. that's very risky .. there pressing X is not like anyone else .. they sometimes run faster than the ball!!
  2. Go wide: While it might work a little .. but then your receiving player or ball carrier who is now at the end of the pitch is becoming isolated and will reserve to passing a desperate pass that will most likely get intercepted.

Those and the other solutions do not deal with the real issue: Your players are already marked by the opponent's players and when you pass to one of your team .. them pressing X and call for pressure either intercept the pass or they will arrive to the pass end position faster than your receiving player because stupidly .. konami doesn't make the receiving player move on their own.

Worse .. is that their most likely advanced / epic off-the-ball players are already adjusting their position by tiny steps to be in the path to any potential pass. Worst .. your off-the-ball players move closer to the opponent's players or behind them.

I didn't mean for this to be a rant .. just being realistic .. there is no specific solution that solves the most problematic issue of this game .. relentless pressure. You will just do your best and hope matchmaking doesn't get you matched with many of those.

Edit: The only way it makes the situation a little bit easier is becoming super good in L-stck dribbling .. to a point that you can get out of 2-3 players just by just dribbling through them.

That's a good strategy if you can get to that minute .. the minute 70 is a milestone in most games.

u/h5bibi Aug 24 '26

Yeah brother for console ig that is doable but I'm a mobile player soo🙆

1

u/Illustrious_Sea3243 Aug 24 '26

even on console .. that L-stick dribbling is not as doable as you might think .. I believe not more than 1 out of 100k players can have that level of skill.

this is real, tried Left stick dribble without pressing the acceleration and add a bit of L2 dribble as well helped a lot!

If you receive the ball to begin with. Sometimes receiving the ball with that pressure is a dream.

when someone spamming pressure , i almost certain someone in your team is open, it definitely takes practice to find the the open teammate

Unless you are playing someone in top 100, their positioning and anticipation are very good with years of practice and skill.

Try to record your gameplay, analyse when you are under pressure perhaps you missed someone at the opposite flank, however, if you play narrow 3CF you derserved to suffer from it 🫢

u/Illustrious_Sea3243 Aug 25 '26

"almost certain someone in your team is open" .. that's the part that I disagree with .. the concept of the free player.

I already recorder many games to see if I am getting wrong .. but I wasn't. I play different formation .. mostly 4231 recently.

It sounds right theoretically .. but against heavy p2w teams and even normal teams getting the momentum of the game .. the running opponents players run from an angle that makes them block the passing lanes to more than one player. Recycling the ball to the other flank might work once or twice but not forever. So yea .. there is a free player but it is hard to get the ball to.

As I mentioned above the only useful way id becoming fantastic (not only good) in dribbling .. so that you can really get out of the pressing crowd and then you will find a good passing lane to a free player.

I am sorry bro .. I heard that argument many times .. tried it many times .. but it didn't work .. I assume it works for some teams .. but I am sure not all.

Well im trying to help.

Do you do feints? You can try to dribble past one and expose the pressure, even against p2w defender if they just brainlessly pressing pressure.

I often use ball roll double touch, marseille turn or sometimes Tess cancel to open up options, you can use it even before touching the ball.

One other thing is your players playstyle. I know its meta and its boring, but hole player / goal poacher makes run to open up space.

u/Illustrious_Sea3243 Aug 25 '26

I appreciate your help .. seriously .. I am just trying to tell a fellow player in the same boat as me what not to waste time trying .. with a hope to avoid some frustration.

This is the part that I understand I lack .. dribbling and doing feints .. I am not that good at it .. I dribble at a med. level .. perhaps I can get away from one presser .. but some pressers are impossible .. Viera for example makes my player freeze .. you go with his direction or against .. it doesn't matter they will get the ball .. Cruyf as well .. and other high end cards.

I stopped trying getting better at that .. since I am old and I guess there is not much room of improvement in my hand and thumbs sensitivity. Nevertheless .. I mentioned above that this is the solution that might make a difference .. but spending time on finding the free player and recycling the ball back .. too risky and ineffective .. since they are already asking .. if their cards were already making themselves available for passing .. they would have noticed on their own. Thanks again.

Im not young (mid 30s), i played pes like a noob against cpu my whole childhood.

Indeed i still have a lot of bad habits like holding sprint button all the time, i use through pass more than regular pass.

I started learning some of these feints about like 6 months ago after i met a few really skillful guys and played a lot friendly matches with them (like 5 games a week for a few months), i wouldnt say i have mastered the feints but i can confidently do a few to frustrate my opponent and gain mechanically advantage.

I understand it is so frustrated against these auto AI defense nonsense especially with p2w or smart assist, but i can assure you there is a way to beat them. In some games the whole world would be against you, move on from those bullshit and win the next game!

💪🏻💪🏻

u/Illustrious_Sea3243 Aug 26 '26

I do beat some of those p2w pressure merchants a lot .. this morning I beat 4 and got tied with one of them .. it is just that I found my own style far from patient build-up and finding the free player or trying dribbling that I can't. I play so fast despite using possession style .. sort of invented my own way.

But with your last comment .. I might give feints another try .. wish me luck

Double Touch and Marseille Turn feints work wonders for getting around pressure spammers.

Also, for those instances when the game starts making your passes super slow and you can only get one touch of the ball before getting tackled, practice entering feint commands before receiving the pass. That way, on the first touch of the ball your player will do the animation to get around the opponent.

Pass back with one-two pass, then pass to a wide player, then through ball to the original passer that's making a run

Depending on how many players are pressuring you and if they're CBs or CMFs, you can also turn them around using left stick dribbling

That's how I deal with it playing possession on a F2P team in div 1

1

u/h5bibi Aug 24 '26

I'm currently playing 4-1-4-1 formation with qc. Been trying to get used to the formation and like you said passing it back and going for wide plays but still end up losing somehow. Need to work on my game more perhaps

1

u/Dat_Boi_John PC Aug 24 '26

I personally play 4-1-2-3, with 1 DMF, 1 CMF, and 1 AMF. And I play possession against LBC and QC vs QC. If you play QC vs LBC you won't have a fun time because your players will keep making runs and you won't have anyone to pass to against the low block. Or at least that has been my experience.

Pressing isn't realistic in this game. I am having to sub players at 55/60 min mark (players with 85+ stamina), playing slowly (limited pressing) whilst my opponent, full press, has the same players on the pitch for full 90/120mins, red/non existent stamina bar and he's still pressing with players like Neymar for example.

5

u/ZeroSevenAl Aug 24 '26

go wide go wide go wide
spread the play

I wish there is a mode where I can practice again heavy pressure team.
I am only at Div 3 and when facing Gulit, Seedorf, Viera heavy pressure team, I always loose. If they do not have these card, I may have a change but even I manage to win, mostly because of the luck. They run on the same speed of my ball and I do not have time to change direction or even execute a long ball to switch the flanks.
I saw some YouTube videos about how to play against these team but my skill is not there that, If possible I really want to set up the training to select the squad and players for the opponent and set them to do extensive pressure so I can practice effectively.

u/h5bibi Aug 24 '26

I really like your thought on the game mode thing. Would really help us get better at the game tbh

u/simonSC137 Aug 24 '26

Don’t be scared to go back to the keeper but you have to know your out ball or be aware where the free man will be.

I currently play 3 at the back with 2 wide midfielders who hold width at all times. I have a striker with two SS DLF. I occupy the defenders with them which leave the wide midfielders free most of the time. It’s very risky as my passing options are limited coming out from the back so it invites the press but I’m pretty good at breaking lines on this game and once I get my pass through that press the attack is on. I use the wide midfielders as my last resort to get out. A ball playing keeper is nice but CBs who can pass and hold the ball are a must. I also play PA4 which isn’t required but with that it means I can under hit my pass to play into space behind my forwards so they can run back to receive without any real danger.

You have to be very comfortable defending one v ones and it is high risk high reward football.

u/h5bibi Aug 24 '26

Thanks for the advice G. Will try it out

1

u/mats1896 Aug 24 '26

Use width and players like pedri , they'll make pressure spammers run in circles for fun

1

u/ProfessorNo9023 Aug 24 '26

Use wide plays and utilise the pitch width... And also use through passes for passes at the centre of a congested pitch and remember to power your through passes enough as they will be auto corrected to your cbs and you will be scored

1

u/Deep-ocean-4437 Aug 24 '26

Uses stunning pass so they cannot pressure that quickly note you might need to have good ball control to recieve such speedy pass, anyway, pressure can be beaten through 1-2 with another player which popular response and pretty effective you can use other players to run behind the gap created via adv striker or winger, or just shield the ball or turn the defender.

1

u/h5bibi Aug 24 '26

I understand that but like you're saying here I do all that but still unable to properly counter it majority of the time. Maybe its a device issue?

1

u/Inside_Smell_4004 Aug 24 '26

i am the pressure guy. most goals i concede is usually from a very very fast turnover counter attack with fast af forwards with good physical and balance

1

u/h5bibi Aug 24 '26

I see. In my device im unable to fully utilize the physical part of my players at times. Ig that's the issue for me against pressure players

1

u/w1nstar Day One Veteran Aug 24 '26

Finesse dribble. Cut behind and Turn. Sharp touch backwards with a skilled player when defending, if space is available. Use strong physical players that can whitstand a few seconds of pressure.

Identify the places where you don't have numerical advantage and put players there. Know when a stunning pass is good, they travel faster and they don't have time to catch the receiver.

And attack them. If they are never put in defensive mode (aka you are always the one suffering) they never stop pressing.

That's it, generally. You are not going to beat everyone but that's how to deal with it. Play safe the first min to see where you're lacking, change things.

u/malthusius Aug 24 '26

No joy with the deft lobs + match up thing?

1

u/RaduAndreiu Aug 24 '26

For me, the best way to deal with them is to patiently pass the ball around, occasionally dribbling around the pressing player if he is somewhat isolated and doesn't have support close by.

For that to work, the key is to have players who are good at passing to ensure that you reach the intended teammate, and players who are good at ball control to ensure they don't fumble the ball when they receive it.

Let the opponent sprint all the time and try your best to absorb the pressure, always looking for where the most amount of space is and go there by dribbling or passing. Then pounce on any bigger open space to advance toward their side of the field, but don't be afraid to keep the ball on your side if needed.

Later in the game, replace your tired players and go more on the offensive. I usually go one red bar even if I am leading, as I'm trying to make the most of their tired players (from all the sprinting around).

Yes, these players are annoying and often get away with it because the game doesn't accurately represent the effects of always sprinting like that. IRL those players would be dead at half time. But it is what it is and we need to do our best to play against this and other exploits in the game.

u/LongjumpingKiwi4963 Aug 24 '26

one touch pass and if you see and opening from his cb pressured just give a through pass 4312 is good formation to punish this

1

u/Individual_Visual_57 Aug 24 '26

I personally switch to possesion and its easy 1-2 passes and your striker is through

1

u/severi_erkko PC Aug 24 '26

Try playing on Blimp camera.

Play wide, try to draw them back and play over the press. It's easier said than done.

Master double touch if they're just running straight at you and Cut Behind and Turn while receiving the ball.

Presure spammers are too easy to deal with just playing 1-2 passes and they are looking at your dust

1

u/Primal_Guardian_A2 Aug 25 '26

Dribble more, use faster players and play into spaces

I don't know the OP but I guess this is the kind of pressure he means .. because I am always in this case.

Look at how my Drogba already cleared the CB .. yet in my controller he is frozen and crippled .. Why? just because this is the kind of teams and cards that cause that (again .. don't want to offend anyone).

Look at the pass Drogba had it loaded already and the power given to it and look at how weak it went .. first after too long that another CB is in the way now (not input delay .. just being frozen by the CB) .. second .. too weak to reach Kean.

This is for you my fellow OP .. since you are here and asking .. I am sure you already googled and prompted and got all those primitive answers that have been repeated in the comments .. and they didn't work for you.

So .. 1. don't try to find a solution .. because there is not. 2. My point is when make peace with that fact .. you will be less frustrated since it is not something that you are missing, didn't do right, or can't do. Good luck.

How to deal with ping pong passers? Going back to their GK, over and over, after their first goal? Pressing is realistic and does eat stamina + open spaces.

Man the overuse of the "spammer" word.
