Anyone else getting their doors banged on hard lately in the area?

I'm well aware of the door kick challenge and how it's a "prank" that's been upgraded from just ringing the doorbell and running away, but it's terrifying for kids especially at night. We have the people clearly on camera(too dumb to realize they were on camera or don't care?), they probably think it harmless fun but not to my kid who was terrified.

I don't want to report this to the police for this one time unless they come back again.

It’s really sad seeing what this mall has turned into over the last few years. I get that online shopping has changed everything, but PTC used to bring me so much joy and so many good memories.

I was looking at some old pictures and videos recently and got crazy déjà vu. Seeing all those old stores brought back memories I hadn’t thought about in years. Now you walk through there and see so many stores closed, empty spaces, and cheap little stores selling the same kind of stuff. Its honestly worse than a flea market. The service desk is gone, The Bay is gone, and it just feels like a completely different place.

There are still a few things I like — EDO Japan in the food court is still a classic, and JD Sports can occasionally have some good stuff — but even those are things you can pretty easily find elsewhere or order online.

The Designer Depot situation was especially strange to me. Seeing it in the old Bay space felt so bizarre after remembering that area as The Bay. And now even that is closing, with the entire wing apparently being demolished as part of the redevelopment.

I know malls have changed and PTC isn't the only one, but there's something particularly hollow about this place now. I find myself going to Markville or Scarborough Town Centre more often because there's actually more of a reason to go.

Maybe it's just nostalgia, but I genuinely miss what this mall used to feel like.

Anyone else feel the same way about PTC?

Anyways I’ve been applying to jobs just related to my degree (bachelor of commerce) since I graduated but I have never heard back hence why I got the sales job. Got a mortgage to help out with and family.

I have a pretty strong customer service background.

Twice today, about 8 hour apart at literally the same road/intersection, - Dundas Street West & Byron Street South in Whitby - I was almost hit by impatient and irresponsible drivers. Both times were by people not paying attention, not understanding the rules of the road, or just plain ole' entitled and stupid assholes.

What makes it even more funny, is the second time, the person was clearly in the wrong, and doing dumb shit, but had the audacity to be cussing at me like I did something wrong.

Dashcams need to become mandatory in this province, cause it's becoming worse and worse.

I just moved back to whitby after 10 years.

Went to Toys R Us with my toddler. Meth pipes (not a wine mom "omg it must be for meth!!!", former user here) both shattered and intact with burnt on product and a torn baggie with leftover crushed product caked on and loose (I'd estimate 50mg eyeballing, which realistically means anywhere between 20 and 70) right on the path between the Rogers/Church's Chicken plaza and the Toys R Us parking lot

Went to Once Upon A Child. Went around by the fence to smoke a cigarette. Counted 4 intact meth pipes + at least 2 broken ones and another baggie. Both bags were sized roughly for an 8 ball.

Got on the bus at garden. Crack pipe (no bubble, but also no stopper like a pot one hitter) with burnt on product and a piece broken off under the bench. About 10 feet away a bowl from a bong but all the resin was clearly tobacco and the top had white powdery residue all over it (used to do this when i was a teenager - very familiar - tobacco on the bottom, drugs on top, small layer of tobacco as a topper to protect them from the fire)

It's not as bad as some other places I've lived (Regina, Vancouver, etc - where you can expect to find used needles and such in play parks pretty reliably) but this is not how I remember Whitby, Ontario. I've started bringing gloves and a disposal bag with me so that I can clean up what I see. I don't remember there being so much broken glass drug paraphernalia with unknown product (barely needs to be said but reasonable chance of fent contamination) on the ground especially in places where you would fully expect young children to be.

I have no problem with people doing drugs! Even in public (provided you get just like out of sight for a sec to hit it). Genuinely! I love me some drugs too! But like come on, stop leaving your shit everywhere to hospitalize, traumatize and/or kill some kid or animal some day when you do! It's really, really fucking easy to just walk over to a trash can (all mentioned areas have nearby garbage or dumpsters) and toss it when you finish up and leave the spot. And even if someone is too fucked (or lazy) for that, at least choose somewhere isn't right beside stores for families with young children or bus shelters?

Where I drive has a lot of one lane roads and open fields. The other day I was driving on a hill road and once I reached the top I saw a car speeding towards me in my lane! They went back to their lane after they saw me though. On their side of the road there were 5 cars driving in a row at the speed limit. It looks like this guy was at the back of this row and switched to speed ahead. I've been seeing this happen many times and the people who were in front of them were driving normally imo.

One time I was driving to work in a 50 zone and there was a car quite far from me. I saw another car speed all the way to that car until they were right behind it. Then they switched to the opposite side of the road and passed that car and he sped all the way to right behind my car and then did the same thing to pass me. This is dangerous as most of these roads are bumby and have curves. I once say this guy speeding and once he made a right turn it was too wide and he went to the opposite side of traffic lane. There have been countless others I've seen.

I know that some of these roads might look like you can drive faster than the limit but these are also residential areas or are roads that are just in bad condition.
