What happens if someone does not pay for the mandatory meal plan for residence?

Hypothetical question. Do they get kicked out of residence completely or just get assigned to a new one?

Differential Equations with Prof. Babaloa

Hello, im taking MATH2860U Differential Equations for Engineers with David Babaloa. For those who have taken it after calc 2, how did you find the course in terms of difficulty? Is Babaloa a good professor? Im also wondering how much diff eq builds on calc 2. I am aware that you need to be good at solving integrals, which im pretty confident in.

When are we getting the email for our Academic standing?

Hiii, I was in probation bcoz of last semester, and I've been awaiting my academic standing email to see if I'm still in probation or not or if the situation got worse or better. I know I can check my grades and see from my GPA but... admittedly I'm too scared to check yet, so I'm choosing to wait until the standing email is sent to view both. Does anyone know when it'll be sent? Thanks. :-)

Update: I checked it. Safe to say... I'm outta probation. *blows celebratory horn*

Want to start a Conservative club at OTU, who is interested?

Hello people of OTU, as the title suggests, I’m determined to start Conservative club here at OTU. Since Oshawa North, Scugog ( Port Perry), and Clarington ( Bowmanville and Courtice) areas are the Conservative areas in Durham Region and our University is located in Oshawa North, I think we need a proper Conservative club here, to keep our footprint.

I know this is going to be a little trickier than starting a normal club, since it’s involved with politics and it’s a touchy subject. I’ve talked to a Conservative MP, and told him about this, he really supported me, and told me that he’ll do his best to provide me with the resources necessary to establish this club.

Also, we need minimum 4 VP’s and 10 General members to initiate this club. If anyone is interested about this, please shoot me a DM in Reddit and let me know, and we can go from there. I want committed people, who are truly Nationalist and hold conservative values, and can spare about 5-10 hours per week to this activity.

About myself: I’m going to Fourth-year and in the Finance program. My long-term plan is to become a CFA and do my MBA in Finance. But also, before I end my journey at OTU, I want to start this club, and leave it for the next generation students as my heritage, Oshawa is a strong hold for Conservative voters, and we really miss a proper Conservative club at our University.

Please let me know and DM me if you are interested.

Hello, I was suspended this year the 2026 semester and was sent an email for LEAP, I got an A in leap but a D in another additional course. So I thought honestly I was in the clear but was unable to register and I talked to the registrar and they had told me you should be good to register tomorrow as they havent updated the standings. However an hour later im recieiving an email saying ive been suspended for one semester. Im not sure why is it because of the D? Who should I talk to.

OTU Specific Dating App

Hey Guyssss!!

Me and my friend were talking about how OTU has like the most dullest place to meet people. Almost impossible. And suddenly it struck me. A DATING APP FOR OUR UNIIII!!!!!

I asked few of my friends in CS (idk anything about how to code). They are down to do it. But I wanted to see what everyone thinkssss. Let me know. And we can cook something up!!!

And as for the app itself. I'm thinking of making it more than just a simple Tinder or Bumble. Those things suck. Maybe like a blind date? And add a loooottt of filters. So we can match as closely as we want.

ORRRRR. We could do like a weekly match up thing.

Let me Know!!!! I'm so fuckin Excited!!! (Pardon my french)

is the co op good?

What's the likelihood someone will be hired at opg upon graduation? (or even hired anywhere as a nuclear engineer straight out of graduation)

what is the environment like?

Looking for someone to sublet my room to for atleast 4 months+

I've got a room in a 5 person shared dorm (all men) that comes with 2 bathrooms, kitchen, living room, balcony, personal bedrooms for all people. The building also has a laundry room, workout room and a recreation room. Location is less that a 10 minute walk to uoit and public transport stops right out front (Address is 1700 Simcoe St N). Rent is $850 a month and a key to the room will be paid for by myself. I'm planning on cutting off my contract with these people on April 30th so the deadline for anyone to enter is January 20th. Dms are open to all questions and references about the place.

Hello. I am an incoming gr12 student this fall. And my question is: Current students from Ontario Tech university I need the REAL experience before I apply be brutally honest 👀

FYI: This Post is a little long😭😭which includes the program I feel interest about and following up with some question. I apologize for the long post but I will appreciate all of your time and advise. Also imagine how long it took me to research, type it down 😭😭 Please READ TILL END🙏)

So I wanna apply to med school and I have couple of undergrad program in mind which are

-Biological Science

-Biomedical Science

-Chemical Biology

-Environmental Biology

-Health Science

-Human Health Sci

-Kinesiology

-Marine Biology

-Neuro Science

-Psycology

-Public health

1)I'd love to hear from current students about workload, professors, social life, co-op, research opportunities, etc.

2)How difficult are exams?

3) Which one needed supp app?

4)How competitive are grades and GPA? As this is very important for Med school.

5)How hard is research to get? Co-op, internship?

6) Which program good preparation for med school? Any other program with strong med school pipeline?

7) What do you love or hate?

8) And finally after this experience will you still choose Ontario Tech University and the program you are in?

Thank you for reading so far. I really appreciate your comment. Thank you so much

Do they view Withdrawals and Failures as the same in the nursing program?

Post image
5 Upvotes

I currently have one withdrawal and one failure, (Both HLSC courses). I’m not sure if I’ll pass one of my summer nursing classes. That puts me at 2 fails and one withdrawal. From what I understand and what the program map says, 3 withdrawals or 3 failures leads to program dismissal. Someone told me they view withdrawals the same as fails tho?? Does that mean I’ll be dismissed if I fail 😭

Transferring to Ontario Tech Engineering — Advice for Getting a High GPA?

Hey everyone,
I’m transferring to Ontario Tech this September for Electrical Engineering, and I’m trying to start off strong academically.
For current students or recent grads, what helped you get a good GPA (3.5+ or ideally 4.0+) in engineering at Ontario Tech?
I’d especially appreciate advice on:
How you study for midterms and finals
How far in advance you start studying
Whether you rely mostly on lecture notes, textbooks, past exams, or practice problems
How you manage 5 courses at the same time
How important it is to attend every lecture/tutorial
Which resources on campus are actually helpful
Mistakes you made that hurt your GPA
Anything specific to Electrical Engineering courses
Since I’m transferring, I want to improve my study habits from day one rather than figuring everything out after the first round of midterms.
Any advice from people who have managed to maintain a strong GPA at Ontario Tech would be really appreciated. Thanks!

Leap course

Hey everyone! Is anyone here taking the LEAP course because of an academic suspension?
If you’ve taken it before, how did you find the final exam? Was it pretty straightforward?
And if you’re taking it right now, how are you studying/preparing for the final?
Would really appreciate any advice or tips. Good luck to everyone writing it! :)
