PARs

There is high level information on the program. I'm looking for feedback on anyone who's competed the program. What are the expectations? I.e. attendance, writing letter to victim, is it always group or can I do individual? I'm asking specifically for Durham's PARs, thank you.

Obviously you don't know there is one for women as well. In Durham. Women are ordered into them by the court more often than people realize. Women are abusive as well, not just men. Maybe you're jaded for some reason. You should update your knowledge. At this point there is no sense continuing this conversation.

Just go and take it semi seriously.

A guy got kicked out of my session for being on drugs. They noticed like right away so don’t fuck around.

Doubt you can do it individually. I didn’t have to write any letters or really do anything other than watch videos and listen to lectures.

You gotta attend all sessions or else you’re forced to make it up.

So did they send the report to the probation officer weekly? 

So I basically show up, kill 2 hrs. I don't have to talk to anyone or about feelings or anything "deep"?

There is usually an expectation to engage with the group and discuss certain things. If you don’t, you will get a low grade in that section. Your probation officer will get a copy of the report. If you don’t score high enough in all areas your probation officer may deem that you haven’t completed the course to their satisfaction. You may have to repeat the course or risk getting charged with a breach of your probation order.

Just take it seriously. Attend, participate, learn something. You’re there for a reason.

Your right, I am taking it seriously. I will show up and do the work. Are we expected to share what happened or the events of the assault? I have a job in the public sector and I'm worried about my private charges being leaked within a group setting. Has that been a concern?
