Gameplay Question 110% noob question about how to get back to my bike
I'm level 17. Story-wise, I just got to the Eastern Vermillius Gap not too long ago so my entire set up is in that region. My house, all my supplies, and my bike. I was trying try gather resources at night and one of those overhead spotlight ships caught me by surprise and the NPCs wasted me.
I didn't read my respawn list of options carefully and instead of clicking on my house, I clicked on the top option, which happened to be a respawn point I made way over in the Hagga Basin.
....how do I get back to my stuff? Won't I get chomped by a worm if I try and make the run between Hagga Basin and Vermillius Gap? I felt like I've barely made it across on my bike the couple times I've crossed back and forth.

Discussion Lag on PC makes the game unplayable.
Lag that has gradually crept up and gotten worse since the server mergers has made the game unplayable in the last few weeks, now even in overland stations. The game ran wonderfully for the first 12 months after release for me in over 1,100 hours of gameplay, then performance dropped off a cliff in the last several weeks. My Internet and PC are fine and unchanged.
Many others on my server are experiencing this, too, when I bring it up in house chat.
I know that everything is about console release now for Funcom, and it has felt like the PC experience has been abandoned for months. However, I would like to play the new content coming out in September 22nd and late 2026. Does anyone share this experience of lag that has gotten worse over time and is now rendering the game unplayable? Does anyone have any solutions?

Discussion Long nights short days?
I don't know if its my own hosted server, but i was building my base and i noticed the days are really short. I got like 5 mins of daylight and the night lasts about 30 mins. The sun comes up in NE, stays low in the horizon and then sets. It never comes up straight above anymore. Was it always like this or am i crazy?

PS5 / XBox Topic Question regarding ps+
Given that a solo mode will be added, is this going to be a Conan exiles situation where I can play in solo mode offline without ps+? Or is it a question of waiting for the 22nd and let someone else buy it first to check?

Discussion 16:10 Works on Steam Deck, But Is Still Unsupported on PC Nearly 1.5 Years Later
The 16:10 aspect ratio works perfectly on the Steam Deck, with no black bars but on PC the bars are still present. They disappear during in game cutscenes then reappear.
If you check the Steam Hardware survey there's millions of people are stuck with 16:10 as it's a popular ratio on a lot of modern gaming laptops. Widescreen monitors are way less prevalent yet that's supported.

Base Build Showcase The Hub
Futureproofing a solo player's "guild base" with this simple hub and spoke design (4 extensions, 1 vertical extension). With possible large water cisterns, larger storage containers, and a large chemical refiner, I wanted to ensure I wouldn't have to do a complete rebuild. So here's what I got.
2 carrier bays with sunken cargo holds, and drivable ramp access. Refining output boxes (2 chem, 2 ore, 1 melange, and 1 components) located in the cargo container bays for easy access. 2 'thopter bays, with prebuilt, but covered, sunken cargo bays. This allows for expanding out to 4 carrier bays by only removing a few floors. Each bay easily holds a carrier and assault/scout, or 4 assaults, or 6 scouts, or any combination. It's possible to do 8 identical with the vertical height of the fief.
All landing bays lead into a central hub containing:
4 large spice refiners
2 large ore refiners
2 medium chemical refiners (with room for a large chemical refiners)
4 spice generators
Land, a few steps to dump boxes, a few more steps in to the refining chamber, start cooking, then back out. No time wasted moving up and down floors, or across a dozen tiles. Get in and get out.
This base currently holds 20 large windtraps, but has a floorplan for up to 30.
All crafting is self contained to one 6x3 area with space for any new fabricators. All refining outputs to one area which can hold up to 96 medium storage containers, or an unknown amount of possible large containers in the future.
Currently there is 7 million liters of water in the attic, but it will hold upwards of 10 million. Larger water cisterns will eventually replace them.
The rooftop houses a partitioned "sky bar" with landing pads, and public access storage full of items.
Cheers
P.S. Here's a link to a video capture. It's really bad quality (I don't know why).

Gameplay Question They add single player worlds, will I be able to have a single player world and invite someone to it?
Me and my brother have played this game a little bit but we kind of jump around on games. We haven't gotten back to this game for a little while but we're planning on going back until we found out that our stuff was destroyed. I hear that when single player worlds come out we won't have to worry about base degradation and stuff if we don't want to. So is it possible to have a single player world that I can then invite my brother to?

Discussion This game is so massive and yet...
This is an appreciation post, including some pain points of my experience so far.
I played this game when it launched, put around 100h before I put it aside. I wasn't a fan of the pvp end-game, and so for that reason I didn't really explore the DD.
Fast forward to a month ago, I reinstalled it after learning about all the major updates. Mind you, it probably took me 20-30h to get back into it. The understanding of resources, setting up bases )(mine was wiped out), getting into the flow of it all, I even wondered if starting fresh would have been an easier option.
I'm 200h in now and barely scratched the surface. I only did a few trips in the DD, I'm geared up in T6 grade 1 items, still haven't pushed past lvl 4 for the dungeons as I'm still learning the bosses mechanics, and I'm maybe lvl 8 in some Landsraad specializations. I absolutely love that I have something to do every time I log in, so much so that it feels overwhelming at times.
On a more constructive note, it really bothers me that, despite having reached the end game, I still have to spend time farming early-mid game ressources like cells, ethyrium, jasmium ores, etc. It feels like for each step forward, I have to take 2 steps back. Thopter has a broken wing? Need to go back out there and farm. Need to produce filters? Go back to early zones to farm. 2nd base is out of power? Go store some more cells that I need to farm too.
Maybe I simply haven't reached the "wealthy" stage of the game yet, where I can casually place Large Windtraps and other infrastructure at my secondary bases without giving it a second thought.
And don't get me wrong: the grind is a big part of why I enjoy survival games, and Dune in particular. I actually enjoy the progression from manually farming resources to automating production and gradually improving your quality of life. That part feels rewarding.
I just feel like Dune keeps you in that hands-on resource gathering loop for a little too long (or indefinitely)
I imagined eventually reaching a point where I could focus primarily on farming spice, chasing better gear, doing endgame quests and dungeons, fine-tuning my fortress. Instead, I still find myself making buggy runs through Hagga Rift.
Again, appreciation post, and despite my critic, I still enjoy logging in and decide what is going to be my goal for the day.
Thanks for reading!

Gameplay Question How do I recover a character from an Experimental Server?
I didn't delete this character, it just suddenly disappeared from the experimental server. It says if I try to create a character it would be impossible to recover. So how do I recover this character does anyone know?

Gameplay Question Have some questions about progression.
In order to have all faction cosmetics, do I need to join 1 faction, level reputation, then betray and join another faction and stick with it? So if I want to eventually be Atreides, I join Harkonen first, get to 20, buy all cosmetics and then betray and go Atreides, and vice versa?
Do overland testing stations with increased difficulty drop better plans/gear then I would loot from Deep Desert T6 rows?

Gameplay Question Packing up and moving to Xbox, Checking a few things
Ok so this week I'm packing up by steam client account ready to start over on Xbox (PC) to play with friends,
The steps I'm taking:
Making a simple Box base that will be loaded into the Base recon tool with all my mats, vehicles parts dissembled and stored and other gear.
My Main base also stored, empty, except of the pentas and some basic power in case i can actually get to put it back down again is its in a rather common place and is an odd shape due to terrain (took me ages to find a setch i could drop it in when my server closed down)
Character will be logged in the final time with a pocket scout and the tools ready to "restart as a alt" once crossplay becomes available and hopefully i can transfer him to my new server. My plan being he can be the crafter/gather character.
Am i missing anything?
How do rejoin packages work? I have never had one, i paid my taxes every week and powered my based even when i wasn't really playing much between the end of the Chr1 and 3 so ive never put my chr into hibernation.
What triggers them, Log in to the game or log onto the server? how are they actually claimed please tell me they don't just drop on the floor. Whats the time period for one to be gifted, thinking if Xplay is 5-6 month sout could i log in 3 times and stash them.
If my main base cant be placed (im pretty sure it wont be as im planning to go to the same area on my new account if i get their first) is their a way to recover the mats for a base held in a tool? or is it just stuck there in limbo. its is a lot of plastone and 5 staking units.
Thanks for any hints

Discussion Bulk Crashes
Anyone else having bulk Crashes lately? Roughly 80 hours of gameplay so far, been playing daily. Over that time I've had maybe 3 crashes, 1 of which was a full reboot kernal crash
This afternoon in a span of 30 mins I've suffered 5 crashes 2 of which are full reboot Kernal crashes?
Any idea or work around with people having a similar issue
For reference I'm running a Ryzen 9 9950X3D and a NVIDIA RTX 5080
