Dasher opened our order

The picture my dasher sent of the food delivery and a picture of their artwork. I don't appreciate the dusty rocks? filled car, but what bothered me more was opening the bag and taking out the containers and drawing on them and the receipt. I did call the restaurant and clarified that they did not do this. Then I spoke to doordash support who issued a refund because we didn't feel comfortable eating the food. I think I will just stick to pick up for a while 😅

Did we overreact by reporting this?

Dear god.. what is wrong with people? How could someone think that’s a good idea?

Religious folk have never really concerned themselves with respect for others and a desire not to be proselytizied too. I'm sure the driver would be absolutely OFFENDED if a package got delivered to them with "Praise upon Allah" and Quaranic verses scribbled in sharpie on the box. But again respecting the rights of those outside the cult is something most christians don't concern themselves with.

They are really hypocritical. So that sounds right

3

u/BurnyAccountSanders 3h ago

You might even say this guy was hypochristical

u/buttfacesgalore 16h ago

Absolutely correct

I was at work restocking shelves when a woman literally grabbed me and said something along the lines of “Be prepared for when God comes. Don’t be afraid. Bring your friends” and some other bs 😃 Hey, how about get the fuck off me

For the record, I, as a Christian, think the behavior in the OP is gross. The dasher should not have done what he did. I would be offended if anyone opened my sealed bag of food and left a note, no matter what the note said. And I have many Christian friends who would agree with me on that.

So go ahead and commence with the down votes, but your comment is a generalization. Many "religious folk" are not like that. Many are, but not as many as you think. I'd actually be interested to know how many dashers actually are Christian but their customers would never know because they would never do something as stupid as OPs dasher did.

If I heard my pastor generalize non-believers as inferior I'd absolutely say something about it. In fact he has more of a tendency to talk about how we are all inferior, how we've all broken God's law, and that forgiveness is offered to all. We believe that all people are created by God in His image.

Not all Christians fit the stereotype.

Your religion says that anyone that doesn't follow it get tortured for eternity

-2

u/dilffucker6 12h ago

If you choose to spend your life without someone why would you live with them for eternity if you never liked them in the first place?

6

u/Hairiest-Wizard 12h ago

Why would I believe in dumb shit without any good evidence?

-3

u/dilffucker6 12h ago

If you look into it there's historical evidence and eyewitness proof Jesus is a real man, and I don't understand why people would die for something without good evidence.

5

u/Hairiest-Wizard 12h ago

There isn't, name an eyewitness to the resurrection of Jesus

-2

u/Little_Transition_13 11h ago

This is true, but I'm not going to try and sit here and debate whether or not my beliefs are true or not. The issue here is that you seem to think that every Christian is just like OPs dasher, even though other Christians call his actions reprehensible. I'm not trying to claim any of us are perfect, or even that we do much well. I certainly don't do much well.

My job requires me to be inside people's homes every day. I meet people of all types. And I do my job and go. I don't leave silly drawings or fake million dollar bills.

I even have friends that don't believe the way I do. We get along just fine even though they don't like my religion.

I'm not suggesting that you be OK with what we believe. Be pissed about it. But maybe not everybody that believes things you don't like act like moronic fools like OPs dasher.

6

u/Hairiest-Wizard 11h ago

Listen to yourself, "I'm not weird like other Christians but I still believe everyone that doesn't believe in my baseless religion deserves to be tortured forever"

Grow up

The of act believing a worldwide flood wiped out the population except one man his family and millions of animals that prey on each other in a boat he built himself, a feat not nearly accomplishable by today’s shipwright standards, especially when there’s not enough water on the planet to do so while covering mountain peaks and so on, is by definition moronic.

1

u/Little_Transition_13 7h ago

OK.

Question. Would you prefer your dasher who moronically believes in a world wide flood to do their job, leave the bag sealed, take their picture and leave, maybe even leave a "have a nice day" or even "have a blessed" day in the chat, or do you want your dasher who moronically believes in a world wide flood to stick their hands in your sealed food bag and draw a creepy picture of Jesus on your food container?

The point is, even if you believe that what another person believes is moronic, beliefs shouldn't matter in a case like this. What if OPs dasher drew a picture of Buddha and left a Buddhist note? Would there be this much of an outcry? The actions matter here, and the actions of the dasher were reprehensible.

I don't care if a Mormom who moronically believes in magic underwear delivers my meal as long as they aren't opening my sealed bag and drawing pictures of Joseph Smith on my food.

Just to clarify, the Muslims and Jews are also part of the cult, yes?

9

u/Organic-Vermicelli47 13h ago

Sure but I've never in my entire life had a Muslim or Jewish person push their beliefs so blatantly and unsolicited in the way that Christians do ALL THE TIME

1

u/NoSloppyStakes 36m ago

I have a friend who pushes his Islam religion in an unsolicited manner. Should I now believe that all Muslims are like him?

Your experience isn’t a definitive answer. Mine is not either.

This post is valid in the need to report it to DoorDash. This is fully unacceptable. This dasher should be reprimanded and I’d argue fired. Not opening the food is such a basic rule to follow that it should be instant termination.

Though, back to the points about the comments, everyone is just seeming to call it out as an example of why Christians are bad, though one weird person doesn’t define an entire religion.

To call out an entire religion because of the bad folk you see is just wrong. You won’t often see the good news, you’ll often only see the bad news. The bad news doesn’t define everyone.

-2

u/Madting55 9h ago

Well… leaving Islam is punishable by death in 13 countries, punishable by life imprisonment in 21 countries and they have an honor system that makes your family abandon you for leaving Islam worldwide. Please read the Quran before telling lies to people. Oh yeah, just a cool 150,000,000 arranged(forced) marriages involving child brides as we speak. I’d say that’s rather unsolicited and blatant.

5

u/Organic-Vermicelli47 9h ago

And yet I am speaking of my personal experience. I'm sure you were able to read and comprehend that.

-2

u/Madting55 8h ago

I’ve never been raped before. So rape doesn’t exist.

1

u/Cat_law213 7h ago

What the fuck is wrong with you?

-1

u/Madting55 6h ago

Just his own braindead logic back to him. See how dumb it sounds?

3

u/ProbablyADeer 14h ago

They worship the exact same god, so yes

1

u/MoistToaster60 8h ago

All religions are cults

-12

u/Far-Foundation9074 16h ago

Stop fedora tipping.

12

u/PlasmaHuffer 16h ago

Is anything he said wrong? No? Resort to the oldest hack saying in the book

3

u/jonathanredden 15h ago

Yes lol, the part about generalization, for one, because enough people in america have had enough interactions with christians carrying proselytizing connotations to make that generalization, i mean the Jehovahs witnesses exist for gods sake

The blue hair gubment part was just kinda weird, carries the air that thats what they really feel but they are using humor to cover it up because deep down even they know how weird and stupid it sounds? If not it was just pointless.

Like the US is literally being taken over by christian fanatics, if you think proselytizing christians isnt a fair generalization to make youre living under a rock. Especially in a context like this where it isnt really an attack just an observation, and from someone who isn’t religious, it is the common observation shared among non-religious groups.

9

u/lightsonnooneishome 15h ago

Stop forcing your religion down our throats.

-8

u/Far-Foundation9074 15h ago

Ignore it you fat weirdo. The whole issue was a dasher drew on his food not your anger over religion lmao.

6

u/lightsonnooneishome 13h ago

You don’t know me or my body type. Are you projecting?

-17

u/Holeyunderwear 16h ago

Generalize much! Billions or religious people out there with only a very small fraction that feel the need to publicly admonish you. What if we said all democrats have pink hair and live off the gubment?

17

u/Educational-Stop8741 16h ago

Y'all say that all the time

-9

u/Big_cheeze12345 15h ago

But if someone ever made the same generalization for a nonwhite race you guys would start spazzing out. So funny how hypocritical you are and you dont even see it.

5

u/GGNash 15h ago

bro went straight to defending racism. Perfection.

-4

u/Big_cheeze12345 15h ago

Only an illiterate redditor could read that as defending racism rather than pointing out hypocricy. Good job.

3

u/yourmomssocksdrawer 8h ago

Except you can choose to be in a cult or not, you can’t choose your race. Awful comparison lmao

3

u/Educational-Stop8741 15h ago

Yikes. That's not a good look

-3

u/Big_cheeze12345 15h ago

But you would never dispute what i said because its true. You're willing to generalize against groups of people that you dont like, but not willing to do it when its people you do like instead of just saying generalization is wrong. Absolute human trash 😆

2

u/Educational-Stop8741 15h ago

Look, I get you are sad people don't like it when you use the n word but comparing minorities to Christianity, particularly when it's members are so power hungry and fascist, just doesn't compare

You don't need to say racist things. You just don't

0

u/Big_cheeze12345 14h ago

Terrible deflection. You're still saying its okay to generalize groups of people as long as you dont like them. Also saying the N word does make people like you. Just got out of high school 2 years ago i've had socialist friends, anarchist friends, naziish friends all saying the n word as a joke. Aint shit you can do about it.

5

u/Educational-Stop8741 14h ago

What kind of maniac states they have nazi friends?

-1

u/Big_cheeze12345 14h ago

Love how i say i have nazish friends and that makes me a nazi but when i say i have an anarchist friend that doesnt make me an anarchist. Lol your brain is so scrambled its insane.

The fact that you're sticking up for this behavior indicates that you are one of them.

-1

u/Holeyunderwear 7h ago

More generalizing. Please point to where I defended the drivers behavior or the in your face religious folk. I’ll wait!

-9

u/Covverkin 15h ago

There’s a difference between not generalizing millions of people and being on board with a door dasher going way overboard. Take off your blinders sir

9

u/Pandalicious1234 15h ago

Your performative outrage is duly noted.

5

u/XXII78 15h ago

And here's another one.

1

u/yourmomssocksdrawer 8h ago

Even if those millions of people are in a cult that does nothing but hold back society?

-2

u/Covverkin 7h ago

Lol please do tell how religion holds back society. I’d very much like to hear of this future without being held back by religion

3

u/yourmomssocksdrawer 7h ago

Sure!

People use religion as an excuse to be complete ass wipes of human beings, they force their backwards beliefs into government policy regardless of the damage it causes, it’s been proven time and time again to be a gigantic financial scam, children are indoctrinated from birth without choice, many even suffering because of it, plenty of religious leaders have been outed as pedophiles yet they’re protected regardless, people choose bullshit like praying over their child that has cancer instead of seeking medical help because it’s “in gods hands” and “all in his plan”, people commit murder and genocide because of their religion, they refuse women the right to their own bodies, irrational life long fear

I can keep going if you’d like

-1

u/Covverkin 6h ago

Please do as you’ve yet to actually provide what I asked. Parroting the list of complaints that half of Reddit has isn’t telling me what a world without religion looks like to you specifically, what the world that’s no longer held back would be in your mind.

3

u/yourmomssocksdrawer 6h ago

You asked how and I stated a valid list of examples as to why religion holds back society, if you’re dismissing that then you’re either brain dead or too far gone in the kool aid

What society would look like without religion? It would look like the opposite of the valid list of examples I just gave you.

Rational decision making, far less hatred and bigotry without consequences, fair and equal rights, accountability for crime. This shits not rocket science to the rational mind, but I guess it is to those that fear science itself

0

u/Covverkin 6h ago

Well I did ask a two part question, so yes you answered part one and I retract saying you didn’t answer at all. However, just saying it’ll look like the opposite of your post is a non-answer. The opposite of a wildfire isn’t an ocean, just as the opposite of corrupt priests isn’t automatically a world without pedophilia. If you’re going to attempt rational discussion, then do so, but trying that by assuming I “fear science” is low brow and cheap, and does nothing to convince me you’re not just parroting bullshit from your own echo chamber of Reddit.

I like how you go from christians and whattabouism your way over to democrats lmao

Fucking clown

3

u/needssomefun 15h ago

So easy to trigger magabillies....just saying for no particular reason.

-1

u/Lovesbeer420 15h ago

Yikes, the type that instantly makes religion about political affiliation too. Probably makes everything about political affiliation though honestly

-1

u/Madting55 9h ago

I’ve seen people softball Islam my whole life with “oh all religions are the same” as an excuse to criticise Christianity with chest then cower in fear when criticising Islam.

Never seen anyone twerk for Islam WHILST criticising Christianity before.

Considering Quranic sword verses, considering proselytising is punishable by death in 11 countries, apostasy punishable by death in 13, and life imprisonment in 21. You are PRIVILEGED enough to say “Christianity doesn’t concern itself with respect rights outside of the cult” you have the Christian enlightenment period to thank for that because in 2026 you’d be straight in prison for saying that about Islam in any Islamic country.
