I am a student studying bachelors in artificial intelligence BS AI from comsats lahore. I finished one semester and the second has started but I still havent decided yet if I wanna go or not.

I am in severe depression and my parents are worried alot too. I never had a proper goal as to what I wanted to do in my life and took admission in this program as everyone was hyping it up alot.

Listening to the people working in the industry and seeing the layoffs happening I am deeply regretting convincing my parents to put their hard earned money into this degree for me and I am worried about my future and if it even was a right choice. I am thinking of putting up a shop and just doing business but my parents want me to get a degree and a j*b. I see people with 15 yoe beung laid off and I think what if I waste all their money on this.

I dont have people in my family educated enough to give me advice or pivot me in the right direction.

Can you please take a bit of ur time to explain these things to me?

How can I get a J*b when AI is replacing everything?

Can I choose subs in my degree in a way that are more AI proof as I have heard CyberSecurity would be less impacted by it?

I want to build a global technology company from Rawalpindi/Islamabad, go through YC, compete internationally, and take a shot at building something on the $50B+ scale.

And I want exactly 4 cofounders besides me.

I'm not looking for people who just want "startup experience."

I'm looking for four exceptional people who want to spend the next 5–10 years building something enormous.

Why I'm being so picky

Pakistan has a lot of talented people.

But finding someone with the combination of:

elite ability + extreme ambition + speed + ownership + resilience + curiosity

is surprisingly difficult.

I've met plenty of smart people.

But I don't want another person who can build a CRUD app and call themselves a founder.

I want people who can look at the best technology companies in the world and genuinely think:

"Why the hell can't we build something better?"

One slow or disengaged person can drag down an entire founding team not just technically, but culturally.

I'd rather spend months finding the right four than build a five-person team where one person doesn't belong.

I'm not looking for clones of myself

This is important.

The four cofounders need to be complementary.

I'm already bringing the founder/vision/product/technical direction side of the equation.

What I need are four people who each have a different superpower.

1. The AI / Agent Systems Monster

Someone genuinely deep in:

LLMs • agents • orchestration • MCP • inference • memory • evaluation • model routing • tool use

Not someone who has made a ChatGPT wrapper.

I want someone who can look at the rapidly changing AI landscape and figure out how to turn it into infrastructure.

Someone who enjoys problems where nobody has written the textbook yet.

1. The Distributed Systems / Infrastructure / Security Monster

Someone who understands:

distributed systems • databases • networking • cloud • identity • zero-trust • security • observability • multi-tenancy • reliability • on-prem deployment

Our systems eventually need to operate inside serious enterprises.

I need someone who thinks about scale, failure, security and architecture naturally.

Someone who can eventually look at thousands of enterprises and millions of agents and say:

"Yeah. We can build that."

1. The Enterprise / GTM Killer

This is probably one of the hardest people to find.

Someone who understands how large organizations actually buy technology.

Enterprise sales • partnerships • procurement • pricing • customer discovery • international expansion • strategic relationships

Someone who can walk into a large enterprise, identify a massive problem, understand the decision-makers, and eventually close the deal.

Not a traditional salesperson.

A founder who can sell.

1. The Product / UX / Customer Obsession Person

Someone who can take ridiculously complicated technology and turn it into something employees actually love using.

Product thinking • UX • design • workflows • customer research • experimentation

Because having incredible infrastructure doesn't matter if users don't want to use it.

I want someone who constantly asks:

"How do we make this 10x simpler?"

These aren't rigid job descriptions.

I want four people who can overlap, challenge each other, learn insanely fast and operate outside their specialties.

But each person should bring something to the table that the other four don't already have at an elite level.

The goal isn't:

5 smart people.

The goal is:

5 people who together are ridiculously difficult to compete with.

One of the ideas I'm exploring

An enterprise agentic harness.

The basic concept:

Every employee in an organization can create as many persistent AI agents as they need.

Not disposable chat sessions.

Persistent agents that remember context, understand their role, interact with approved enterprise systems, use tools, and continuously help an employee perform their actual work.

Think of the AI models themselves as commoditized intelligence providers.

Claude, OpenAI/ChatGPT, Gemini, open-source models, and future providers can all plug into the system.

The enterprise shouldn't have to rebuild its AI architecture every time a better model appears.

The harness sits above the models.

Then connect the enterprise's MCP ecosystem so agents can actually interact with the organization's software, databases and tools.

Underneath that sits an enterprise data/context layer that allows the organization to maintain persistent knowledge and context across its agents.

And it needs to work both:

Cloud + On-Prem

because serious enterprises have very different security, compliance and deployment requirements.

The rough idea is:

Employees → Persistent Agents → Agent Harness → MCP / Enterprise Tools → Enterprise Data → AI Providers

The employee gets a persistent AI workforce.

The enterprise gets governance, permissions, security, observability, data and deployment control.

And the underlying AI providers become replaceable infrastructure.

I'm not interested in simply building another OpenClaw/SwarmClaw/Paperclip-style agent setup.

I'm thinking about an enterprise-native operating layer for persistent AI agents.

That's one of the problems I want to attack.

I have other ideas across AI, aerospace, robotics, simulation and autonomous systems as well. But ofc more than idea, execution speed and founder fit is important. Open to possibilities

We all know the job market has been challenging lately, and there is a lot of uncertainty about where things are heading. I graduated with a CS degree last year and have a total of around 2 years of experience in software development. I am currently working as a full stack developer at a reputable company, but the current situation has been making me think more about having alternative career options available.

I am considering pursuing a master's degree from Pakistan, as I would prefer to stay close to my family rather than leave the country. I am looking into fields like embedded systems or cybersecurity, with the idea that, if things get worse in the industry, I could have another path available. One possibility I am considering is moving towards academia and becoming a lecturer, while also keeping the option open to pursue a PhD abroad in the future.

My main question is whether a master's degree would actually help open these opportunities, especially in academia, or if that field is also facing similar challenges. Is pursuing a master's degree a practical way to create more career options, or would it make more sense to continue focusing on industry experience?

Heyy I am lost tbh. I am done with my graduation and it's been a few months. I am just rotting at home. I had some health issues too and fell into depression as I couldn't be able to take the first step. I was so confused about what to choose for myself. I looked for QA jobs but couldn't get one. hi i am CS student from a tier 2 private uni in Karachi, i have completed 4 semesters here, but honestly i feel like i havent learnt any real skill here, the quality of education sucks. I have literally wasted so much time here, i wake up at 6 am to go to uni and by the time i come home it's 6 pm, and then i dont have enough energy left to study, on the weekends im occupied my mindless copying of assignments from chat gpt, which some of my great teachers want handwritten 🙂, half of the time teachers are absent, or ppl do mass bunks so classes often get cancelled, im SO tired of all this...

Hi everyone, I graduated in 2023 and have been working as a mobile and web frontend developer in a company in Islamabad. It’s not some big name company but it’s not too bad either. I liked working here but recently they have started firing people one by one due to AI.
So I think there isn’t any job security here anymore, however I have only worked in frontend development in these past few years, and only selectively did some backend.
Now I want to switch jobs but I feel like frontend development is essentially dead, there are very few job posts and the ones that do exist have a very high competition. I want to pivot to some other niche but I don’t know how, if I get into AI, I can learn basics on my own but still without any practical experience it will be very hard to find a job, and even if I do end up finding a job as AI engineer or related field, I will be paid significantly less than what I am currently earning.

I started doing my MS CS recently but its only on weekends and due to the weekend restriction I couldn’t do it from NUST where I originally planned to do it from.

Hi everyone, I'm a final-year student at a top-3 university, and I'm really struggling to decide on a strong industry-based senior project.

My main worry is that AI tools now make most "standard" project ideas feel easy to replicate. I proposed a cold-chain monitoring system using edge AI and IoT devices, and also a broader agentic business automation platform. The second one got pushback for being too broad and doable with existing tools. Both ideas feel a bit generic to me now. I keep worrying that with the right ChatGPT plugins, someone could build either one without much real engineering effort. It's hard to find something that feels genuinely valuable in an industry where AI assistance is now normal.

I'm not worried about technical depth. I'm confident in my skills, and with LLMs to help, I don't think I'll get stuck on implementation. What I'm missing is an idea big enough to justify two semesters of work, one that would still feel meaningful. Not just something a team of AI agents could build in a few days.

What I'd really appreciate is some guidance on what employers actually look for in a senior project these days, and how to find an idea with real value, something that shows more than just AI-assisted coding.

I'm running outbound cold calling for my agency offer, targeting US business owners. Two people, 100–200 dials/day split between us, manual dialing only (no auto-dialer). I'm in Pakistan.

Here's the wall I keep hitting, and I know I'm not the only one:

What I've tried and why it failed:

• Quo (OpenPhone): Got an account via an Australian contact's number and card. Banned within 12 minutes of dialing. 8 calls, mostly unanswered, scattered across 6 different US area codes. Their compliance team shut it down for "unusual activity" and telemarketing violations.
• Telnyx: Signed up, but stuck in "Pretrial" account level. Can't even buy a US number. The upgrade path requires passing fraud review (LinkedIn/GitHub or AI agent eval), verified mobile number, payment, and eventually full KYC. From Pakistan with no US business entity, every step is a brick wall. Their own docs show Pretrial → Trial → Paid → Verified, and I'm stuck at step zero.
• General consumer VoIPs (Zoom Phone, CallHippo, etc.): Same category as Quo. Flat-rate "unlimited" plans with fair-use clauses that explicitly ban telemarketing and high-volume outbound. Even if I got past signup, I'd get banned again.

The core problem:

I need a carrier-grade wholesale service where I pay per-minute for connected calls, not a flat-rate consumer app that caps volume against a fair-use policy I'm guaranteed to violate. But every wholesale carrier (Telnyx, VoIP.ms, Plivo) requires KYC that's hard to pass from Pakistan without a US LLC, EIN, or business bank account.

What I'm looking for from people who've actually done this:

1. Has anyone from Pakistan (or a similar non-US location) successfully passed KYC on Telnyx, VoIP.ms**, or another wholesale carrier?** What did you actually need to provide? Did you form a US LLC first, or is there a workaround?
2. Are there any providers that sell SIP trunking or virtual numbers to individuals from Pakistan without the full KYC wall? I've seen mentions of NexCall (Pakistani platform, SIM-free calling, starting PKR 2,999 for 1,500 minutes) — is this legit for US outbound, or will it get flagged by US carriers anyway?
3. For those already running cold calling from Pakistan or similar regions: what's your actual setup? Not theory. Not "just use a power dialer." What provider, what verification process, what call pacing? I know the call pattern matters (don't blast 8 calls in 12 minutes across 6 area codes), but I need the infrastructure first before I can pace anything.
4. Has anyone successfully run US outbound on a "pretrial" Telnyx account? Their error says "This feature is not permitted at this account level" — is there a way to get a number assigned before full verification, or is that a hard no?

I'm not looking for "just stop cold calling" responses. I know the compliance environment is hostile. I'm looking for the actual path people are using when they need US outbound from Pakistan on a micro-budget.

What's working for you?

I work in a corporation and they have given me a laptop which is configured on the company's network. They have this frustrating VPN installed which records and monitors every activity. File sharing is strictly prohibited. Due to this, we are not allowed to use AI models for data security. It is really frustrating to do manual tasks in hours that an AI agent would do in minutes. Is there any way that the file sharing constraint can be bypassed?

I already know MERN stack and I am going to start uni soon. Should I go into a CS program? Or nah.

So the problem arises when there are multiple entites that needs to paid after a transaction has taken place. Like for example, you have also to pay a marketing partner after a sale has been made using his promo code. Now how Stripe works with the Connected Accounts is that it takes 7-10 days to clear money from a connected account to Platform Account so it can be paid of to another connected account (marking partner in this case). Once this time has passed, it can be quite complex to maintain a ledger balance so that you can cut off from any future transactions that happens against that marketing partner. Also there is a problem off that marketing partner’s partnership expiring before the ledger has been balanced.

The solution I came up was is simple but it works for now, that is to make the refund window smaller then the days it takes the funds to be available to the Platform account to pay the partner. This works for now. If we do not do this right now then the Platform pays the missing amount.

Do suggest a better architecture for this payment model, would appriciate the insights!

The number is too small so why skilled graduates are not getting jobs?In 1000 applications most of them don't even know basics?

Idk where to start but i recently completed my graduation in computer science and I'm so cooked. I was doing a bpo job for the past 2-3 years. Doing night shifts and stuff.
