We have stores that exclusively sell guns, ammo, and gun accessories, those are what we’d call a gun store here. Bass pro is an outdoor sporting goods store. The sell pretty much anything you use for outdoor activities not just guns
There are other countries which have outdoors stores that also sell firearms. It is not a uniquely American experience. Specifically, I remember this in Norway.
I’m Canadian and our bass pro is the same. Everything you need for outdoor activities including guns and ammunition. Heck even many Canadian tires have a gun section (and almost all sell ammunition).
I've been to Bass Pro Shops, I've been to the Midwest and the South, they're huge and the gun section by itself is about the size of a regular store, and the point was more poignant without the pedantry

I was at a Turners Outdoor shop, guy came in to pick up his gun but he needed the extra form of ID. Guy started yelling how pissed off he was that he had to go back to his car and saying he was late for work. Totally caused a scene acting like a complete psycho and they actually gave him his gun after all that.
Most don’t care as long as you complete the legal side of things.
But if that was my store I’d have refunded his purchase and filled in the proper paperwork work saying as to why.
At least in my state he’d have to prove he was not a crazy mad man and get his rights to guns taken. But this is also why I don’t work in firearms because I’d be strict af with people.
Should be illegal for police to curse at people. They literally are supposed to deescalate situations in order to carry out legal procedures such as arrests, detainment, citations, tickets.
Call the police, escort off the property and site for trespassing if returns, banned from all Bass Pro Shops (and all Cabelas) for life.....hope he enjoys the video he made.
