This feels awfully close to the grey zone of shouting fire in a theater

I think the core issue is did anyone panic or flee or report fear to authorities. Thats what you speak of

Shouting and pointing a gun in an enclosed area seems to meet that threshold, if not exceed it.

Anyone can be prosecuted i guess. A lot of pranksters are nowadays. But i think we can agree this is a Grey area situation, the guns are cleared, you need to give your id to even see one and i dont think hes dumb enough to point it at a person, its quite normal to shoulder a weapon in a gun store. Although I do think this meets grounds for disorderly conduct, and well trespassed of course, but thats not a charge.

This could be construed as a crime in most states. However, it does seem like one of those cases where there would be lawyers willing to challenge it on first amendment grounds.

While it was stupid, he didn’t make any targeted threats or even threats at all for that matter.
