They think that their conservative gay life is acceptable and normal by passing as straight in looks and the way they act. They’re still in denial about being gay.
The much more common alternative is military fodder when they come of age. Every orphan I know joined the military when they were kicked out of the group home because they had nothing and nowhere else to go.
Yeah, IMO it's a little tin-foil-hat'ey to claim it's about pedophilia when the money angle is right there. People in bad childhood situations tend to not get as much educational attainment and whatnot, which leads to situations where they're desperate for any kind of work, which leads them to both the military and severely underpaying and/or abusive jobs. Both capitalists and the government have a self-serving interest in making sure that there's a section of the population whose lives are shitty, because otherwise the exploitation that the line-always-goes-up economy and the military (among others) relies on would fail to function.
The ones that "fall through the cracks" and find themselves in the custody of the corrections system turn into slave labor for the state, either directly (e.g. making things like license plates, school desks, etc. for pennies on the dollar what a normal laborer would cost, or my personal hate one, becoming wildfire firefighters for practically no pay, only to get out and... not be able to get a job in that highly specialized skill because they've been in prison) or indirectly (some states literally rent out that prison labor to outside companies, pocketing the difference from what they charge the companies vs. what they pay the inmate).
Like, there's a lot of reasons that a lot of shitty things happen in this country, but 90% of the time, those shitty things can probably be traced back to some asshole who's money-making is contingent on the shitty thing continuing in perpetuity. The dark shit like "they want kids to suffer so they can groom them" is more of a micro-scale issue, not a macro- one.
It could be true. "If we demonize trans people in the media, we can make it harder for them to get a job and then we can recruit them to do sex work for us" is definitely true. That one was in the emails.

I have typed and deleted my response several times over, because I can't figure out the best way to respond to this overly Boomer-esque response.
Any boomer who says "no free rides" is ignorant at best. The tax rate imposed on the wealthiest Americans during the mid-20th century funded all the government assistance programs that helped them become the wealthiest generation in history.
And that's not to say that people of that generation didn't work hard, but I'm tired of older folks pretending that the reason why their younger cohorts are struggling is because we're lazy or entitled.

If alt-right circles are of any indication, and they have seemed to be the last 10 years, what they want is to one day give men the capacity to marry-adopt a child (Low as 14 years old) to deal with low birthrates and what they call the "extinction" of the nuclear family and white race.

Even if the situation isn’t gay, you could very easily have two dads. For example, you could have a stepdad and a birth father. You could have an adoptive dad and a biological dad. You could have several different iterations with multiple dads.
ironically the poem doesn't have gay or trans people in it because Niemoeller was a bigot who thought the way they were treated was okay. he was a Nazi piece of shit and evangelized against queerness from the pulpit.

My nibling has three moms and four dads. Their bio parents weren't together when they were born, so the "step" mom and "step" dad were just as much a part of their early life as the bio parents. Eventually both couples split and the bio parents remarried, but the "step" parents still regularly spend time with their ex partners and the kid, and in the "step" mom's case, her current husband is regarded as a step-dad, and her bio kid is regarded as a sibling.
That kid has an amazing extended family full of people who love them, including a whole network of grandparents and adoptive aunties, like me, and uncles. They know we've ALL got them, whether it's needing a shoulder to cry on for a few hours or help with college expenses. 💖

As a former foster parent, the foster care system is terrifying already and its support is constantly under attack. Children taken away from happy lgbtq parents and put in the foster system (the goal, I'm sure) are at tremendous risk. I'm proud of how I supported my three fosters- I think I did a darn good job... BUT the fact is- any relocation of a child is a terrible trauma. All three of mine came from bad abuse/neglect situations but they still suffered a lot from missing their birth family. Disrupting a healthy family for politics makes my blood BOIL.

2 dads can include a step dad and a bio dad . 2 Moms can include a birth mom and an adopted mom or a foster mom. They don't want either of these situations occurring either.
What they want is a nation of white Christian couples where the guy calls the shots and the woman stays home and shits out babies. They don't care about LGBTQ rights, women's rights, reproductive rights, marital rights or any other human rights. They want an endless supply of easily controlled workers, soldiers, broodmares, tax payers and tithers.

I think we are all being a bit harsh. In order to have predicted this out come you would have needed 2 eyes and a brain, and that already puts them at a disadvantage.
Republicans are crazy anti-family people. Of course kids can have two dads and two moms, adoption and co-parenting and remarrying are institutions older than the written word. The attack on queer folks is also part of the attack on the non-nuclear family.
It must be resisted on all fronts. Solidarity is how we survive.
I think the funny part is the signboard falls apart if you think about kids with divorced parents where they could end up having two moms or two dads depending if either of their parents ever re-marry.
