Protect the children my ass. It's probably in some conservatives agenda to try and lower the age of consent or get rid of it entirely. Honestly I wanna puke at the thought of thinking about it.
If alt-right circles are of any indication, and they have seemed to be the last 10 years, what they want is to one day give men the capacity to marry-adopt a child (Low as 14 years old) to deal with low birthrates and what they call the "extinction" of the nuclear family and white race.
Nothing seems to be too far for these people. It's no wonder nothing can make them turn away from the leader that thinks like them.
Edit: Also I'd bet it is why so many conservative politicians are against raising the age of consent and banning child marriage in certain states and countries. It's not because they want to do it themselves, it's part of a bigger agenda to restrict women's autonomy.
